Looking out for yourself is very key, security issues has been a situation around the globe, you don't have to wait for it to happen to you before you learn, stories as this should create some awakening within crypto holders, and this doesn't matter where you reside around  the world because there's  rime everywhere and more people are beginning to be aware of crypto and will definitely increase crime against holders aswell. Even when you happen to be in an environment where you are in a position to teach about Crypto, it is important you stick to teaching alone and leaving talking about your holdings and what the size of your wallet looks like, you never can tell exactly who is an attendee at such gathering.

The risk of speaking about how much worth of bitcoin we own in our possession is likely to putting ourselves in danger. As the inflation rate is increasing in most of this countries the standard of living is correlating with it and it's pushing many into meeting up with their standard of expenses, it's best to keep the size of our wallet to our selves for our safety to avoid being victims of bad omen and insecurity.

Africa also has similar experience although ours isn't that pronounced. Ours is focused more on fiat but if they eventually finds out their victim worth more than they have demanded for they try to reap them off everything including their bitcoin holdings.

Countries where crypto isn't that popular are the ones who will be left out for now , but it's only a matter of time.

I can see few comments saying the number of attack isn't much, I found that very funny because are you going to wait till the numbers of attack reach 200,000 before you start doing the right thing? The damages is already done if you are the type who don't care about privacy, it means that you already did something wrong, probably both online and offline.

I am also surprised that many people aren't contributing to this topic, it shows that less people cares about privacy, it's only a matter of time, this is all I can say, alot of people will pay heavily for not taking privacy very seriously, it can't be forced though but all it takes is deep thinking.

 We don't need to overstate the importance of being security conscious when it comes to our crypto holdings, because if it were fiat one's holding in a large sun, I doubt they'd be able to loud it to people that they've got such in their possession. I feel that people are careless with these things because they feel that since Bitcoin is a digital coin, nothing can happen to their coins but they are easy to forget that there's hackers and online thieves who just need the slightest info about you to be able to attack.

This thing of security alertness is becoming something else.evwn when it feels like you are on your own fraudsters will come looking for you. And when you try to speak to someone about Bitcoin investment maybe to put the through in a bid to help the person so that they can also have knowledge about it invest. It's common knowledge that you shouldn't be openly discussing about what you own in cryptocurrency, but this rule pretty much applies anywhere, it has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies. Although the attacks have been increasing the past few years (according to the graphs), I don't believe it's anywhere alarming. It is much more likely to be robbed on a daily basis than have people target you for your cryptocurrency. Posting lavish lifestyle, boasting about money etc. on social media may have the same effect.

I don't live in Europe or Asia, but i am quite discreet about my crypto hodlings. $5 wrench attacks for crypto is not popular in my country, instead people are kidnapped for fiat and sometimes get released when the ransom is paid. It is terrible in either situation and even if sometimes it is beyond our control, we have to do that which is within ours.

The thing with bitcoin is that so many people would immediately think that you are a rich person if they find out you own bitcoin. Even if in truth you only own a few sats. So you could even lose a finger when you actually do not have anything worthwhile to offer your captors.

We are failing to mention a crucial aspect of being safe and that is to avoid keeping screenshots or pictures of our Bitcoin transactions or payment slips in our person devices that could easily be shared or used by anyone close.
Even if you do well to keep a quiet life and don't brag about your holdings, how about those you let into your life? Do they have access to your devices and transactions receipts and how well do you trust them to keep the information safe seeing that they didn't ask much questions but assume you have a lot and discuss with their friends unknowingly.

I would still prefer that risk lol. I mean is it better to be poor (thankfully I am not poor, but I am not rich enough to be worrying about any hacker because if I am hacked, hacker would be more sad than me when they see the money lol) or better to be rich and worry about your money. Worst case scenario, you just be rich and put money in the bank and you will be fine, moreover I wish I was rich enough that it would be a risk and fear about it rather than suffering as a poor.

I mean, if you are poor, the problems would be much more than being rich and struggling to protect your wealth. At least for rich people, protecting would be possible with available money whereas being poor is so miserable. We cannot hide about our wealth beyond some level and from that point it may start attracting problems but we need to be wise and must focus on prevention methods to continue as a rich.

In my country, there have also been several robberies targeting victims' crypto assets, And this has happened not just once but several times, with each case being different. Typically, the targets are those who frequently flaunt their cryptocurrency assets on social media or similar platforms. Therefore, we must be more vigilant and avoid displaying anything, including cryptocurrency in public or on social media. In reality, there is no benefit to be gained from flaunting our cryptocurrency portfolios. It is better to speak sparingly and even pretend not to know anything rather than become someone famous for having extensive knowledge about cryptocurrency. People might assume that we also have cryptocurrency assets.
