[Rollbit] Is not respecting their policy

What happened:
Yesterday I placed several bets on matches that were scheduled to start in about 3 hours. I late discover that the team was actually the FC Porto U19 team, not the FC Porto senior team. As far as I know, if a team name is displayed incorrectly, the bet should be voided, right?
I already explained to them that on the “upcoming matches” page the tournament isn’t clearly shown, so I only saw “FC Porto” and placed my bets thinking it was the senior team, not the U19 team.

According to Rollbit’s policy (https://rollbit.com/sports-policy):
1.22. If the team names or tournament are displayed incorrectly, we reserve the right to void the respective bets.

Rollbit support told me that yes ... but the tournament name was right. Then my question is if I had won, that would be voided? Who knows! — doesn’t seem reasonable to me, especially since the policy uses “or”.

Looking at the screenshot you shared, it seems like the mistake is on your end and not the casino. If you look at the screenshot you shared, it shows that the competition you bet on is called "U19 Campeonato Nacional", which I think would mean that all the teams that are participating there are U19 teams. I am not a huge sportsbettor, so I could be wrong, but that is how I understand the screenshot you shared.

In football, for example, it normally shows “FC Porto U19”, not “FC Porto”, so I reasonably assumed it was the senior team when I placed my bets. Everywhere else I bet, the names are written correctly with U19 / U20 / U23 clearly indicated. There is only one team called “FC Porto”, and that is the senior team — the U19 team is specifically called “FC Porto U19”.

you can't possibly blame this on rollbit, you made the mistake of betting on the wrong match.
i get that you "feel scammed" because your multi lost because to that one bet, but that's gambling, you win some, you lose some.
and i bet if that match had ended as a win, you would not have made this post or asked rollbit to void it to follow their policy (which doesn't apply here, because nothing was displayed incorrectly).

next time double check which league you are betting on.

Hi, I actually tried to cash out when I saw on Bet365 that it was the U19 team. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with betting, but once a match is cancelled, there’s nothing you can do with the bet until it is rescheduled.

You can hedge your bet by betting on the opposite side with proportion bet amount to the odds. You will only lose the house edge this way which is very minimal amount compared to losing all your whole bet.

There’s also an arbitrage bet method using different casino to choose for the lower house edge or if your lucky even have +EV.

But hedging is the easiest solution if cashout is not available.

Doesn't exist nothing to cover on multiples, since all you can cover would be you're initial bet. However, is about the policy that's not respected. I had in past a won bet on a match that had 35 minutes halves and that was voided because I won the bet, simple as that but I didn't complain because was part of policy.

Also, it looks like the odds provider Rollbit uses does it like this, and if you check other casinos that use the same odds provider as Rollbit, you'll see that they are doing the same thing.

As far as I know, "U19" is usually not part of the official name of a team, it is just a label put next to the official team name to show that it is a U19 team.

I see that you don’t have enough info about FC Porto, so let me explain. The senior team is called “FC Porto”, and their odds are usually quoted around 1.7–2.0 for over 1.5 goals. For clarity, the second team is called “FC Porto B”, and the U19 team is “FC Porto U19”.

According to Rollbit:

It’s clear that the name was incorrect because it wasn’t the senior team in that match. The policy explicitly applies with an “OR”, not an “AND” so claiming that a tiny note hidden on the incoming events page justifies ignoring the policy is not a valid argument the team name is FC Porto U19.

This will be difficult for you to accept OP because no matter how I look at it, you've placed your bet on the wrong game and I don't think that Rollbit can make that mistake of transposing or confusing the games. I guess you take the loss on this one and hopefully learn to be more careful next time that you want to place your bets.

Hi, I’ve already accepted it as a loss. I just wanted to show how they don’t follow their own policy, since there’s no valid reason to say that was the correct team name and policy saying: if the team names or tournament are displayed incorrectly, we reserve the right to void the respective bets.
