I agree, it wouldn't be big of a problem, trading gambling for some another hobby that keeps us entertained. But for many of us, myself included, life would become a bit less interesting and so a question arises, should we really do that? Should we make our life, even though just a little bit, but less entertaining? It's like drinking coffee 3 times per week. Can we live without it? Absolutely. But should we? That's the question.

If your dream job is giving money and entertainment and the only condition is that you stop what is meant to give you entertainment only and you say no to that, something might be wrong you know. Obviously im quitting if i am offered that opportunity, like my dream job and luxury of life. I gamble with money yes, but i mainly gamble for the purpose of entertainment, if i now have luxury of life, I will use the look to look for something else to entertain me.

Funny question OP, gambling is either you win or you lose money and I'm not going to miss out on having my dream job and living a comfortable life just because I want to gamble, if I'm given the opportunity to choose between continuing gambling which means losing money and living a luxury life of course I will quit gambling without even thinking twice about my choice because apart from gambling for fun and the love of it I also want money to provide a luxurious life for my family. Gambling isn't adding any much value to my life though it has taught me to be more disciplined but I'm also losing money too because I don't win always. But I doubt if gambling addict can be able to stay away from gambling even if they have their dream job and money.

The nature and psychology of human beings is that they easily get bored no matter how much luxury and wealth they have. Gambling for most of us is a form of entertainment and to burn of steam so even when we have money, we still gamble responsibly. Most of the rich people who gamble don’t do it because they want money, it is more of build connections, socialization, expanding their networks, closing deals etc. Ask yourself why the rich who go to Monaco still gamble when they are already filthy rich.

We must realize that there are many other things that are more enjoyable than gambling, even if they do not offer the chance to make a profit. Making gambling a hobby is actually not a good idea, so it is better to find something else to do as a hobby. In my opinion, if the things we enjoy doing have a negative impact on us, we should try to find other activities that offer clearer benefits.

Every gambler has their own approach in gambling. In most cases, they don't stop even if they already won significant amount of money. They will continue to play because it is like their way of life already. So yeah, they won't trade gambling for anything. But for others, if they already have stable financial income and already contented for what they have, they will stop this activity because they know better.
Because think of this - you already have stable income and you are happy with what you have. You can do anything that you want, so do you still want to submerge yourself in everyday gambling? Like let's be real, a higher percentage of gamblers are more on the losing side than the wins, so why would anyone want to pass out on a life changing opportunity just to keep his gambling life in check? For me gambling is just a mean of fun, when I'm bored I just deposit a few chips into my gambling account and see how far I can go.
