At least it gives a temporary effect and a tiny chance to reduce health problem (I am talking about beer). On the contrast smoking gives nothing. Many times I have heard that people say that they smoke to kill stress, but I dont know how they came to such conclusion. And I hope they dont teach children that in stressful situation they should smoke.

I only want to tell that there is no only right or wrong if someone smoke in front of children. Smoking will cause problem to children if someone smoke directly in their face and do that for a very long period of time. I dont believe that children copy all what parents do, as I saw and have plenty of personal example how people act different than parents.

Despite the fact that smoking can make some people forget bad situations or memories, it shouldn't be something we should practiced In front of our childrens. Because childrens will be thinking that it is something that is good, no matter how much you prove to them or tell them that smoking is detrimental to their life. In addition some people usually like to practice all what is being displayed in their front, in which from that point some of them are already started developing the interest to imitate their parents.

I have told and it was mentioned many times - children dont copy or imitate their parents completely. Otherwise they would be more polite, patient. Great example are eating healthy food, reading books. Why children instead prefer junk food and spending time in gadgets, if parents dont do that? Where is "imitate their parents" here? If they really imitate parents completely, then parents dont have to remind children to clean room, behave, do homework, wash hands and etc. Why would children pick parents bad habits only instead of good habits?

If smoking helps to stop thinking then so many people wouldn't have been thinking too much they would just focus on the smoke to do the thinking for them. But since they still smoke and come back to continue thinking I do not believe that smoking helps to reduce thinking. The kids will grow up to become adults tomorrow I believe they will also have the thinks they would need to think if the parents enjoys smoking cause it helps them to stop thinking it will not be bad if the kids learns how to avoid thinking even before getting older 😂

But when parents do certain things or indulge in some behaviors in front of their kids, it’s basically like telling them, Hey, it’s okay to do this, even though they orally try to convince them that it’s not. Children may not copy everything from their parents, but you’ll get to understand if you observe closely, that kids tend to learn the silly things more, especially when they see some other kids and their peers doing it, so seeing their parents doing the same thing is like giving them the express permission to go ahead.

This thread never dies, always having updates.

There are some behaviours I do that I hope my children wouldn't see me do. Children don't care much about your words. They learn very easily from what people around them do. But they learn mostly from their parents, not even from their teachers. Children spend more time with teachers than parents, yet the parents have more influence.

I feel bad when I see the next generation. The rate of bad parenting might increase greatly in the future. Some parents smoke, drink, and even have sex before their children, and I wonder what they teach their kids.

You are absolutely correct because doing it in front of them simply shows that you have given them a green light, the children's of nowadays learn so fast and that is why we don't have to keep on doing everything in front of them, we know human being are not perfect that is why we have to be careful with the way we do things, every child we know learn from their parents at the early age, that is why we have to be careful, because we all know things that we are doing which are bad, not that someone will have to remind us again but we know it is harmful.

wealthy people often have more financial security, so they can make unhealthy choices and still have access to good food, healthcare, and other resources to manage the consequences. someone who is struggling financially may already be dealing with stress, hunger, rent, and family responsibilities.

which can sometimes push them toward smoking as an escape. the problem is that spending limited money on smoking can leave even less for food and basic needs. this can create a cycle where hardship leads to unhealthy choices, and those choices create more hardship.
poverty does not mean a person lacks intelligence or responsibility just as wealth does not guarantee wisdom. the real difference is often the opportunities and security people have. but regardless of someone's financial situation,

children should not be exposed to harmful substances or taught that such behavior is normal. parents have a responsibility to protect their children and be good examples. so rather than simply judging people, we should understand their circumstances while still holding them responsible for the choices they make. I know a friend of my dad who smoke in front of his family since we were small   date non of us smoke because he do make it clear to us that smoking is not good
