I regret that I didn't trust Bitcoin when I started learning about it. I have made a good amount of money in the ICO days, but I was stuck with Ethereum, which could've been exchanged for Bitcoin and kept. Then, there's the early selling of the accumulated Bitcoin in faucets that I worked hard for, taking 4-5 hours per day just to have 200k satoshis per day.
Well, I was stupid and just wanted some money as fast as possible. I didn't even consider keeping it because I believed the FUD that is being spread all over social media. But if one sticks here in the forum, he may have followed a different route, and that's to HODL up until now.

You buy late and sell quickly, this is short-term trading. If you do short-term trading, you will never get the full advantage of Bitcoin. And there will be more chances of losing than you will make a profit. So always try to hold for a long time. No matter what price you buy Bitcoin at. If you can hold for a long time, there will be no chance of you losing because it has never happened in the history of Bitcoin that the price of Bitcoin has not recovered when it has fallen. So if you want to invest in Bitcoin, you must invest with patience.

When reading title I already guessed that people will regret selling early and it seems majority did from this topic.

My only regret with bitcoin is that I don't write down and collect my private key of my addresses in the early days, I bet those bitcoin scattered around that I think won't be much of value because it's basically left over for transaction fee is worth few grands at the minimum .

I regret that many years ago a guy I knew told me about bitcoin and said it would be worth a lot, but I didn’t take that information seriously and didn’t even buy a few just for fun. I believe you did not understand Bitcoin well during the period when you bought late and sold early, anyone that understands Bitcoin and knows how bitcoin works will not buy bitcoin and sell early when he or she did not have any financial issues, even if you have a financial problem, you should able to have emergency funds that you can use to solve the problems not by selling your bitcoin early, before making decisions on buying bitcoin, you have to understand that bitcoin is a long term investment.

I never regret any decision about bitcoin because I make sure that I did not do what I will regret in the end, I make sure I ask people who understand bitcoin more than me, people who will teach me how to be patient no matter how much time it takes, impatience is one of the reasons why some people regret investing in bitcoin, the biggest mistake I made is that not knowing about bitcoin when the price is still low and people don’t believe it.

Truly, we all have our own share of experience when it comes to Bitcoin investment, and the  regret I had was not because I bought and sold  too early, but because I didn't bought it when it was too cheap.

Most beginner Bitcoin traders make similar mistakes, thinking that you can be smart by doing it short term more often than long term will actually do you more harm than good because you will have to learn the hard way that except for cases where you trade on the futures with high leverage, you are not going to get the actual best from just trading Bitcoin in the short term. The progressive gains we have seen on Bitcoin has mostly spammed through a long period of time and not just a very short time.

The mistake i made at that stage was that i attempted wanting a fast return on my trade and so i over leveraged and so it took me out even before i could know and so that got me understanding that i shouldn't want some quick result if i want to gain form trading and manage how often i will win.

The experience you mentioned is that , i think in a new situation it is natural to feel that if you can take advantage of short-term market fluctuations, you may be able to make more money quickly, but there is also risk. However, you did it very well that you researched the strategy and management and changed the strategy.

However, in my case, the biggest mistake was once I was forced to break the investment. Actually, it is not a mistake but a victim of circumstances. There are some adverse moments for which we may not be prepared. It is not that I did not have funds, in fact, what I had was not enough to deal with the situation. In this case, I had to break the investment by force. However, in any case, some experiences teach me big lessons. And this experience has made me more aware of being prepared for bad situations in the future.

Anyways, when comes to mistakes, my biggest mistake involving Bitcoin had to do with my learning process when I did not know how Bitcoin worked and I decided to use wallets for newbies like the Blockchain wallet or some custodial service which goes with the name of Uphold. Those wallets used very high fees and I ended up losing several bucks, because I could not tell when I was using a fair price for withdrawals.

Though I am glad I went through such learning process, since I know better know and I can save money by choosing better withdrawal rates.

My biggest mistake was avoiding learning bitcoin aspects. I though that creating an online BTC wallet (storing crypto in online wallet) and not learning more about transactions will be enough for me. My experience ended with spending 1/5 of sent transaction on fees most of the times. I did not know that there is an option of setting custom fee. I have used only fast or slow options. Until I learned about transactions and started using https://mempool.space/, I have lost hundreds or maybe a thousand on transaction fees.

What I remember the most is turning 1.5 BTC into 0.15. That was my worst season; I trusted the altcoins I held too much. Maybe it was a long time ago, after the 2016 halving. Well, I doubt that because the FUD was not on social media alone but on the forum as well.
I have been a member of the forum since 2016 and got my hands on bitcoin when it was less than $500.
Although I was able to accumulate in satoshis only and never got 1 whole bitcoin but still back in those days the number of satoshis received were quite decent.
Yet I was caught up in the FUD too and sold early and it was my own choice to sell due to lack of belief in bitcoin.

Not everyone sold there bitcoin some lose there private key and lost everything and making them feel worried and disappointment. I don't think I have any big mistakes in bitcoin, because the time that I no bitcoin he as be long existent and have some mentors that guide me trough so I won't lose when am investing in it. Many people have understood that bitcoin is always available and you can invest anytime when you are capable on doing that and if you're patient you will get your profit. But some think since they have miss the opportunity when they have money to invest for long but they refuse thinking they won't get profit as before anymore. And bitcoin is nit like that is volatile and you can get profit anytime the price increases is for you to have the patience to hold for long term.

I also made that kind of mistake when I was still new, played with the conversion and I thought that I have to take my money before it crashes more. But that's a naive decision and a very huge mistake that I did in the past. My friend also sold most of his holdings when the crash was about to hit the market and that's the lowest IIRC. He never came back and didn't invest anymore, he felt that it's too late for him by that time. But looking at how the price of Bitcoin made for the ATH last year, he's realized that he's again late in it and won't be correcting his mistakes anymore.

Many types of traders and investor are present in the market and they want to get some profit on daily basis because they want to meet the expenses of their daily life because they are dependent on that but in my opinion it is not good because you should not depend on any online platform because there could be change in the market in the future and you should prepare for the future and if you are preparing for present then you will be in loss . Patience is big requirement of the market when you want to get more money by Investing small amount of investment. Long term traders are not in profit because they should trade the Bitcoin when they are getting something because if they will hold for more time then there will be chances they will in loss .
