Hey Bitcointalk,

I am currently working on my master’s dissertation in Environmental Management, and my research focuses on two areas that I care about: Bitcoin and renewable energy. My dissertation examines the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining, the idea is to understand how miners are utilizing or could utilize renewable energy sources to reduce carbon footprint, the challenges, and possible solutions.

There is a lot of misinformation being circulated in the media about bitcoin so I am hoping to get real-life perspectives from people who actually understand the bitcoin and are actively involved in the ecosystem. I’d love to hear from you about your experiences with bitcoin mining and energy use.

I found a topic discussed here, which has been insightful and would appreciate if the author could share his experience here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5325350.msg56613804#msg56613804. I was going to send google forms link but thought its best to ask the questions here so please indulge me. Thanks in advance for your contribution.

1. What type of mining hardware do you currently use?
2. How much electricity does your mining operation consume per month?
3. What is your primary energy source?
4. Do you believe Bitcoin mining can support renewable energy development?
5. What challenges do miners face when trying to integrate renewable energy?

Note: I can use AI tools perfectly well to gather information so I’d prefer you share your own individual experience. I am happy to share my progress on my dissertation here. Thanks again.
