The problem is that priorities in the world have changed. The reputation of an individual or organization is no longer an edge. Money and political power are now the driving forces of the world. We saw how Elon Musk influenced the US elections using his financial strength. Voters didn't care about the character of the candidate because they were influenced by financial gains.

Building a good reputation in some areas is seen as foolishness. People now value financial gains and don't care about the source of the money. I am not surprised that these important international organisations are lacking funds. The world is losing its compassion because the focus is now on territorial expansion and mineral exploitation.

Your thoughts reflect a painful reality of ours society. As the saying "A good name better then silver and gold” reflects the individuals behavior and shows the reputations and moral values. But unfortunately this principal lost its worth in the modern time. As in modern days reputation and integrity defines by wealth and money and honesty and loyalty is just a named things. Many people that deserve integrity and honour but seems voice less in the system which support only wealth over characters. If a society ignoring ethical values its actually degrading its own reputation because trust and respect is necessary for long term success. My dad told me before he died, he said, what ever and whereever I am, I should work with people with clear intentions, and those who works with good intentions wins in the end. I applied the principle and notice I end up robbed, used and thrown away like someone that doesn't have value.

You may be right, but at some point, you may be wrong, the world had been traumatized to the point that people with good morals are seen to have bad intentions because they are used to treated like trash and when they come across a different moral personality, they get confused and doesn't trust him.

So they act different and bad attitude towards this good intentional person just to check their reactions and try to turn him into bad person, if this guy doesn't change, they stopped working with him, if he changes, they also stopped working with him.

Advancement of good name is available in many cases. For example, if I talk about the very beginning, you will see that if everyone in your colony knows you as a good person, then when you need something, your neighbors will come forward to help you to meet your needs, but if you have a bad name (bad behavior), you will not see many people coming forward in times of trouble. If reputation and moral capital can simply disappear that fast, what is actually of value? Is it just raw leverage - to be able to walk away, the thing other people need that only you've got? Because that is cynical but it play out everywhere. The people with leverage end up getting what they want. The people with just reputation are squeezed until they either get leverage or go irrelevant.

The human mind is capable of adapting to whatever situation it finds itself so when you find yourself in a situation where integrity won't cut it alone, adapt to the circumstance at hand. For me it feels a bit like you're making the logical connections in the wrong places. All that matters these days is who's got the money, power or authority. Nothing else matters. Values don't mean anything. There is no line people cant cross for what they want. People have no principles or guidelines anymore.
But I don't believe you have to be just like them to survive in this world. You can have values and principles and lines you cant cross and still be successful in that field. You may not be as successful as they are, but you're not in a competition with them.

My country had an election where the sitting candidate lost, and people expected him to fight because it was assumed that the election was rigged, but he didn't fight; he gently stepped down, and till this day, people call him weak, but not to me. There would have been so much bloodshed of innocence if he had decided to fight, and he doesn't want that on his conscience, and that is something I can respect, especially from a politician. He moved on to better things today simply because he held on to his values and never crossed the line he set for himself.
So we don't need to be the way society or the world sets for us, we can be different.

You can do things differently from the way the world expects of you. You might not win, but if it makes you feel better and have peace within, then it's worth it. Having a conscience doesn't make you a weak man; it makes you a human being.

Yet the world is now screaming for value men, because they are now scarce and that's why I believe that been a value man in a rotten world makes you better than millions of people.

There is someone in my country that puts his integrity first, many people called him names, they said who cares about value in the world today? That it won't make him rich or have power.

It gets to a stage where this man of integrity starts fighting for the poor and that's where things start to change for him, people like him around the world gave him the helping hand and today this man is far more powerful than the corrupt classes, his integrity gets him there, he his now rich and powerful.

You're very correct, people often rewards what is visible such as power, money and status more than what's invisible. People don't often rewards those with integrity and value.  Doesn't mean building a good name is worthless.

You are very correct about that saying good name is better than silver or gold,  for some that do not understand how life works they choose riches over good name which is why there is confusion all over the world now. That saying may look like an ordinary adage but has great meaning that helps in defining a man.

Nowdays, we can see that morality can be manipulated in short term. What many people don't realized that morals is foundation. Everything without morals actually corupt, something broken will not function properly and as it should, the more damaged it is, the easier and quicker it is to see its dilapidation. Many politicians build reputation shortly with power, propaganda, information control, and money politics wrapped in an image of generosity, but reality always  collect reputation with consistency, and many political elite failed and show their true color.

Learn from Rome empire,  from my point of view, we can simply say that even a strong system can collapse when its moral foundations weaken. Put everything on its right position is the only way to keep everything working goods. The fall of the Roman Empire associated with elite corruption, moral degradation especially the leader, social gap and loosing trust from its people. We never know what is true when it comes to history. All we can do is study a few pages and analyse the monuments to understand the history and write a few books on it. But what happened in reality is a never said truth which got buried away centuries back. We don't even know if the history we learn today is real or scripted. It might be a scenario where real history was erased from the books and something that never happened was written in the books. I don't really remember the name but I recall watching a similar movie where history was re-written using false statements.

Trump was elected by the citizens of the united states so I do not think they have the right to differ here. The elections were fair and square and Trump won on his merits. What he does not will not change the history and he know that pretty well.

We live in a time when a clean and good name (reputation) is worth nothing. The President of the United States, one might say the most important person in the world, allows himself to deceive, dissemble, insult, and behave like a child in his Twitter posts. This is astonishing. Today, the only thing that matters is how much money you have in your account, and the fact that many media personalities deliberately behave like idiots and clowns has become the norm for everyone. Just a decade ago, this was not the case; everyone cared about their own authority, and what other people said about you mattered. These are amazing times, and I hope that we will return to morality again.
