Good Name, Empty Hands

Having a good name means that you are probably popular for being a noble person but you have nothing else attached to your name, no cash reward for having a good name and I ask if it's really worth it. If having a good name is going to leave me empty handed then I don't want it because the world only understands what they see around you and not what you stand for, a bad politician with a bad name but fully loaded hands is exactly what the people thrive and understand and is it Worth it? For some people it is and for people like me I want a good name but not the popular type and still be successful.

That's the funniest part, surely there are people who has good name but don't have anything sometimes I keep asking myself that if someone is that good then why can't they help him out instead of calling him names for nothing?  Some people are just popular when they don't even have anything, I rather have money but not well know or popular. the question is what am i even profiting from being popular? Nowadays it's not even good to be famous or popular because haters are all over the corner once they see that you're becoming popular they will look for a way to bring you down.

The people with leverage end up getting what they want. The people with just reputation are squeezed until they either get leverage or go irrelevant.

The people you mentioned may get what they want on short run, just like early investors in a ponzi scheme, but their methods don't last long... Only ethics ensure long term sustainability, prosperity and development, and that is why reputation matters and overcomes any fraudster along the time.

But you have to be patient to see that, though. You can't desperate yourself by short term fluctuations. An attack or a threat to the reputation doesn't mean the reputation is over or irrelevant. Always keep in mind that what is truth, genuine and legit lasts forever, despite all the attempts to put it down.

Yes but they may open up another scheme again and again. Maybe the only way for them to stop is if when they got caught already by the authorities. As for the other type of person. It was sad that if who is a good person they are also mostly the ones that get attacked.

This is what they say that many of us has a crab mentality and that is why it is hard for us or our economy to recover and advance because there is no unity. But yes, we need to be strong in order to endure them. For me, the more I will be motivated when I am attacked. I would love to see those haters get annoyed more when they see me continue to improve my life.

They say that a good name is better than riches meaning that with all you think that you acquire what matters most is your integrity. But no one is going to come and give you a cash reward for being a good person or having a good name doesn't mean that it should getinto your head and not allow you to take steps to get money. if you are worried too much about what people would say then you are not ready to make it in  life. you need to be able to do anything legitimately possible for you that can put money in your pocket

If the slogan that says good name is better than riches is not properly handled one will be worse and reckless in life follow how this words sounds. What is good name? Base on the contexts it the results of a well have life and character that appeals to people in a good and attractive way. For instance one who have cultivated the habit of helping people in need and generally nice to people, easy going, does not support evil, friendly, accommodating and lot more.
Not everyone will like you and appreciate the good you are doing, there must be criticism from people either with live or hatred from people.

Having great reputation or being a good person does not always protect you. When the world around us get tough people choose profit or power over someone kindness or trust. As ICRC, for years and years you do something right but that  moral capital is not paying the bills. We need leverage despite being ethical to stand for our own self. Never rely on others people point of you for you in short do not rely on your reputation as the people point of view always shift with time.  Always try to built practical skills and resources that makes you outshine and impossible for others to ignore,  being independent in today's world is what that makes us safe as integrity alone is not enough.

I think only having good name cannot fill your stomach. Respect and dignity cannot  pay your utility bills or not fulfill your family needs. It's bitter reality of our society that if you have empty pockets than nobody care about you. No one will come and give you reward of your good name. But mostly in many cases honest people used to suffer or struggle lot. One of my friend got job in his uncle's office. There he worked hard, fulfil his duties and very loyal with the company and his uncle oftenly  praised his personality. But he never reward him terms of money. Not even get promotion or the bonus. I don't think it is wise approach. That you just worked there because you have good name but what your pocket get. I never advocate such type of life style where you do not prefer your pocket but stress more on behaviour or good name

From this, I relized that I've been running the same calculation in my life all wrong. I've been developing reputation, good will, trust, expertise. All these intangible things that are supposed to protect you and create opportunities. And I still think they matter, but I'm starting to understand that they only matter as long as the other side values them. The second someone says your reputation isn't worth anything to them, it is worthless. You can be the most trusted person in your field, but your reputation goes down with it if the field ceases to exist or cease to be profitable.

I get your points. In some what journey of life someone who actually understand the reason we are created here is to live a life not just to how it will suit us but also considers it influence with the people around us.
Some had also believe life is garbage in and garbage out with the tunes of vanity upon vanity with the whispers of not suffocating others who had not made achievements up to your level.

Some would have the obligations to just fix human errors and instead of the people to be appreciative for such humanitarians, they would  show their dubious and jealous life. So to an extent, some people are just ungrateful in life and does not deserve humanity favour with their selfish and evil minds full of envies.
So if you fall on the categories that portrays humanity, you should be careful because even those you feeds and teaches how to fish will somewhere want to bring you down.

When ever our appreciation is not returned in good terms it is okay to feel disappointed but we cannot generalized human being that they are ungrateful or undeserving , human behaviour is very difficult and complex to understand. Our reputation or good will can never become insignificant just because one person or a group of people is not valuing them as we want,  this idea that helping other is dangerous because some persons may not response positively is not good instead of focusing on jealousy and defection, it is important to understand that human interaction is the mixture of positive and negative experience.

A very generalized and realistic approach is to work with integrity and kindness and also set healthy boundaries rather than as you mean that people are inherently ungrateful or hostile.

Having a good name cannot fill your stomach directly, but it can provide you with good opportunity to get a job or any legal source of income, which is a very great opportunity. What I mean is that, if you are not trustworthy, loyal, kind, generous and respectful you will not be able to secure a good job easily. Because our moral and behaviour contribute a lot to our success. Every work has their ethics and etiquette that governs their operation or systems. If you don't possess good moral and behaviour, there is no way you will able to last in the business.

Exactly, no matter how good one is in this life, there are some people that won't love you for who you are, that's why it's good for one to live their best life and do what they can, not to please anyone but that's who are. Exactly, no matter how good one is in this life, there are some people that won't love you for who you are, that's why it's good for one to live their best life and do what they can, not to please anyone but that's who are. Surely every body can not like you either because of your progress or you are not making progress as funny as this sounds, there is no lie in it because I have seen people who still envy and jealous people who don't have money or property so it's not only people with wealth and property are been dislike or envy. And the worst mistake one will ever do is thinking on how to make this people like them or be cool with them, that will be a total waste because it is a normal thing to be dislike by people.

Well sometimes we just have to know it not all about money, good name have it own advantages. We all know money can buy you comfort and all that but having a good name can get you trust, access and even peace of mind.
Someone having money today can have a hard time tomorrow, and when such time come good name can come in use. A man with good reputation can have a lifeline, second chance and even grace.

Good name can also attract genuine relationships, it draws you closer to people that have genuine intentions for you.

So long story short, I will say money is a tool and a good name is a workshop, without the workshop the good name have nowhere to be used.
