Poker players IMO are the ones who really need to be able to control their emotions in order to be successful in the game, sportsbetting just don't bet on teams you love. If you live a haphazard life then everything you do will be haphazard and you will not be able to achieve success in any endeavor. But if you live a disciplined life then you will achieve success in everything you do and find joy in your work. Based on this particular question, I believe emotion is very strong in gambling and needs to be checked if a gambler wants to be successful. I have seen some gamblers that had their games messed up because they listened to their emotion at the table of the receptionist where they want to gamble ( talking about land based casinos or game house).

Emotion can also help the gambler to take out a game he is doubtful about and eventually win the game. So analysis can help you organize your game but emotion can make or mar your chances of winning.
