For example, if someone has $5 to buy coffee or eat at a restaurant just for fun, but realizes it would be tiring to leave home to spend the $5, then that person can use the $5 on gambling and celebrate if they win or accept it when they lose, because they would still lose the $5 on coffee or at the restaurant.

From my perspective, emotions doesn't give wining, what gives wining is analysis and before analysis results will be out, you have undergoes a research, So in all, research is most efficient thing to be done in gambling in order to record winning.

To me emotion does not have anything to do with wining in the Long run, I know surely having emotional control is very important but I'm sure that if you're very disciplined you can as well control your emotion while gambling. Well for me I'll celebrate every win.. in as much as we try to keep calm so we don't get carried away, that doesn't me we shouldn't celebrate our wins byes you can choose eot stay strong and don't cry over your losses, but a win is a win.. there's always this feeling that you get after every single win, even when you don't feel like celebrating that much, you just want to be excited because it wasn't at all easy. Staying discipline and controlling emotions is a hunch, I agree with you on that but to win long term is rarely possible, many has tried winning on the long term but failed due to inconsistency of gambling outcome always. The important of discipline and self control in gambling helps too to prevent the gambler from losses that they would have fallen into if not for self discipline. There are too many thread on this board about gambling addiction which forced me to know that addiction can also develop in someone because the person is too emotional about gambling, both losses and wins makes them emotional.

Irrespective of the similarities in emotions, gambling can never be more of a business than entertainment. When you take gambling as a business, that is when emotions come over you. But when you take it as an entertainment, you wont care if you win or lose. Is it the same way in business? Are you comfortable losing in your business? I dont think so.
Unlike a business that, after laying the foundation and structure it can run on its own, you only need to manage it properly. Gambling, on the other hand, dont have a direct system or pattern.
