This is about actual weather influencing results and stuff, one can easily think of Formula 1 races, it rains a bit and everything gets chaotic, the team with the best strategy for the tyres usually wins, this, unless a team has a guy like Schumacher who earned the title of Rainmaster with his driving skills in rain.

But motos sports aside, NOTHING is more frustrating than the weather when it comes to horse racing, so let me break this down to you:

Well, you get it, now this thing has two outcomes, both bad in my case
- fewer races ran, so because I'm free till next Monday and bored to death, I bet on horses I normally wouldn't, and the outcome is worse than bad
- race conditions change from morning till afternoon till the race, so you need to stay glued to the monitor to see if the going is soft or good or god knows what do decide if it's a good idea to back a horse that runs really badly in heavy ground
One week in the new year and this is probably my worst week ever!

No, I can't say you lost it since there's a lot of truth in you statement.

Weather affects the outcome of sports events, especially the rain, it is very traumatizing. it disturbs everywhere including the football pitch. when it is raining heavily, there is loss of friction in the pitch and players slip and fall easily, not to mention that the football soaks up water and becomes twice or thrice its weight and is more difficult to play, moves slower and reduces overall accuracy of teams.

When I was a boy in the academy, we trained under the rain sometimes to master playing in it but the rain always reduces our efficiency on the pitch by a great margin. Playing under the rain is never a true test of abilities. Back then we even preferred scotching sun than rains since the sun had a remedy of constant hydration by drinking water and glucose, but rains are something else.

When you gamble on teams playing under unfavorable weather conditions, your confidence in your picks reduces by a high margin. Unfavorable weathers are major causes events are postponed, especially rainfall, so it is the worst.

I prefer football betting instead, if a match that has not been started is cancelled and my money has been refunded as usual, I do not think about it, but there was a match in the past that I bet with high amount of money, the team I selected was winning, but at around 62nd minute, the match was cancelled. It was on a a low league, so I did not know what actually happened. After few minutes that the match did not continue, I know it will be cancelled and it was cancelled. The team was winning 2:0 already but i was only refunded the money I used to bet.

I believe football is the same and horse racing which horse performance affected by weather condition.

The weather conditions add a lot of unpredictable factors to the game for example in soccer games as the ball sometimes may take strange trajectories which no one can save even the best goalkeeper out there and there is nothing anyone can do about it. This does come with cost but no frustration when certain events are cancelled like in horse racing, I can understand it better than anyone as even when a race in F1 which I am a great fan gets cancelled like Belgium 2021 I felt very angry and bored during that day. We tend to tell people in this section to not be bothered by these things, but many of the users are doing it to themselves in different ways. I would not use the word frustrating here, but I guess I could say that summer tends to get pretty boring depending on what sports you are interested in the most. People are very predictable and they behave in the most boring and predictable ways each year, which is also why there is basically a fixed schedule (rather than a changing one) for many sports. This actually can even have a negative effect on some betters, as they may place too many bets in this time out of boredom including on things that they are not experienced with. It is a quiet time of the year where bankrolls do die.

Before now in sports especially football, it use to be bad officiating but now I believe that has slightly been taking care of with VAR.

For weather, I think the best thing to do about that is to pause and not play. Someone that is a race better, it is better to take a break during such bad weather so that you don't get interrupted by the weather. Therefore, we can control this factor by ourselves unlike bad officiating back then.

However, it is still a new year to start feeling bad and again it is just a week. Maybe it is time to take a break on race betting.

I agree that if the event at stake is in an open area then the weather has an influence on both the riders and the bettors and I can't deny that. In fact, at some point in my place there was some kind of motorcycle cross racing bet where the road that was giving every rider a chance was destroyed by heavy rainfall and the ground became muddy, many riders got stuck including one of the riders I bet on.

You are right, for me, weather is also one external factor that has made me lose some bets (not once, not even twice), although the money I used in staking on the game would be refunded but if I had won those bet, i would be more happy. I don't  bet on hose racing, I bet mostly on football and weather is also one factor that can be frustrating, because it can affect some player, making them not to be more active again.

Can you actually dictate when there's going to be a fair wether and when there's not going to be one? And isn't it a fair condition for all the participants of whatever sports you're looking into? For me, it's not about the wether conditions because you make your stake before a game starts and with that, it actually means that if there's a bad weather condition as the game progresses, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it at that instance. Those are constant when you're doing your analysis and plays little to nothing in terms of favouring a particular participant of the game.

This is very relatable, and it can be very annoying.
Even if the money staked on the game was refunded, regarding betting rules, I feel it is not fair at all.
Ive had a very similar experince i the past, trust me, it sucks to see huge potential winning pass you by when you were so close. It makes betting frustrating in such moments. Well, it is one of those things that reminds everyone of us how unpredictable sports betting can be. Especially in football, where anything can happen at any time.

If it's not the periods like this with the harshest climatic conditions, then I don't know when it should best be. We should have learnt enough by now to understand that we're not supposed to worry too much about the things that are not in our control-- things we can't change regardless. Everything has its time, season and period, so should your gambling habits.

Fans, it's a rare event, but we can't rule them out as an external factor because if they thought this game should be stopped, then the chaos would begin and end up in a worse situation. NOt always the noise is about cheering so in certain games players should watch out for them.

I have been on vacation since December the 19th, ok, family reunions, x-mas stuff, going out....for a guy usually working 8 hours a day, 1 hour commuting 1 hour preparing for it, do you know how much free time I have now? My wife is nearly at her wits' end as I am just bored with everything...

All bets are voided when they are not raced.
What I would love to see is stop programming racing and give us hope when they know that in January, there is no way to race on grass when it's under 5C and move them to spring when there is a lack of racing on polytrack.

You're right, the weather condition plays a vital role in determining the situation of whether a match is going to take place or not and how it's going to be as we might have expected or not as well, I've seen some weather conditions that affect those on race, football pitch and many other games or sports that the sudden change of weather make the whole turnaround over what should have been if there were no influence of the weather condition.

Seriously though, yes, I hate game postponements/delays too, especially if I was planning to bet online. Especially if this happens like at the Club World Cup last summer, unfortunately at the upcoming World Cup the likelihood of games whose duration will be increased by a couple of hours is very high. If we talk not only about sports betting, but also about Polymarket, for example, then I am irritated by events that require interpretation, this has become a problem there recently.
