According to Guardian news. The Nigerian super eagles football team has threatened to boycott their AFCON quarter-final match against Algeria as a result of unpaid bonuses and allowances. According to a squad source, players and the officials have not been paid for previous matches.

Here is the link to the news:Unpaid bonuses: Super Eagles threaten to boycott AFCON quarter-final against Algeria , more details : https://www.beloud.com/news/127929957

Bonuses and allowances can serve as a motivating factor to these super eagles players and officials, if they are not paid as at when due, they may feel weak and discouraged to play their remaining matches. Therefore, the people in charge of processing their payment should do that with immediate effect to enable them face Algeria with full courage and confidence.

Brother it is embarrassing and tiring to keep hearing about this same complain at almost every tournament played by our players at the national championships and I use to ponder on this like does the government or NFF expect players to go out there after leaving their comfort zones to give their all by risking injuries and to restore our national pride and you will be hearing basic things like bonuses and allowances unpaid. Abeg, is this not a shameful act by our government? If we are to hold this news by what it said, then how do you expect the players to bring the trophy to be motivated in their games and what makes you think they can remain focused knowing fully well their entitlements are withheld by the government? How do you expect them to be focused and win us games

Baba no be small embarrassment especially as it has been circulating on the internet. It is almost on every top newspaper and nationals from various countries have been reading about it that NFF haven't sent out bonuses and allowance of the super eagles.

Thank goodness the bonus and allowance issues has already been processed and sent out to the super eagles before they travelled to Algeria for the Afcon match against Algeria:- Nigeria Afcon bonuses issues resolved ahead of Algeria quarter final
The super eagles were well motivated after receiving their payment from the FG before travelling to Algeria. The super eagles beat Algeria by 2-0 and they have qualified to the Semi-Final.
