Zcash - what now?

Hi everyone,

I invested in Zcash right before yesterday's crash after inspecting the chart and being pretty sure another leg up was just about to take place.
Completely clueless about project's internal disagreements (of which I of course came to learn later on).
I lost a lot of money, so naturally, I would like to ask your opinion if Zcash price is going to recover in near future.

As I understand developers just changed the "chairs" and the project as such remained intact and running as usual.

Your thoughts please...

Don't know about Zcash price whether it will recover or not, we can't predict the future exactly. With the internal slaughtering of their team, this has caused the price to drop, affecting investors.

The project continues as usual --- it's just that the core team of the project has resigned.

My advice would be that you should focus on bitcoin instead of focusing on altcoins like ZEC. I am not optimistic about ZEC at all because of how altcoins are. Only what I am doing with ZEC is to trade it but I can not hold it.

You are caught by the altcoin pump and dump. What other opinion would you need on this, if not to hope that Zcash doesn't end like others that pumped a lot to gain people's trust, only to later have an internal misunderstanding that leads to not continuing with the running of their project. I pray this internal issue gets resolved quickly, to avoid further decline of the Zcash price.

I am really sorry. And I mean it, although I've always been for Monero and against ZCash.

Woah, this is difficult. Of course, the "stick to Bitcoin" is pointless here, and if you expect people tell you "it's going to be okay" or "it's going to be worse" you will probably get disappointed, since any of the two can be too easily wrong.
So I don't know what's going to happen. There's a chance it will recover after somebody takes it over properly, since it is an established project.
But how low will go and to what point it will recover? That's hard to tell. Monero nowadays is praised to do great, and it's still at about 1/6 from where it was in 2017 compared to Bitcoin.

However, keep in mind that I'm rather pessimistic about everything, so even if my post may make you think "this guy seem to tell me to sell", don't take me seriously and decide by yourself (even if that would mean to just toss a coin).

And I will come back to Bitcoin, since I expect that would be the main advice. Crypro winter may or may not come. It's difficult to take any investment decision now. At least for Bitcoin, historically in 4 years people were in profit. But do you have that patience?

You have heavily invested on this project because I think that you're for the anonymity that bitcoin has also although this mainly focuses on the privacy part.

Not just changed but they have resigned and there can be something bad happening in the internal of its development that probably ended up with disagreement from the management and the team that's assigned for its development.

I am sorry if you've lost of money in it but, this is why if you will diversify never forget about having a bigger part of Bitcoin or just go 100% for BTC.

Could potentially recover after dust settled and it found bottom. The only problem is if the developers who resigned are creating another privacy coin. It might torn the investor and may disrupt the number of zcash holder.

The good news is, the former ECC team that developed zcash are creating another zcash wallet instead of new coin. So, the problem i mentioned above doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.

Technically ZCASH is much more secure than Monero, but nobody has as far as I know made a simple wallet or user interface to make use of the z-addresses simpler.

This altcoin was around 30$ last year and it just start moving few months ago last October and print 750$ high. Current price is @387$ which is the mid so your position is currently at disadvantageous position considering that you are waiting for others to buy back again while many trapped user same as you is just waiting for the price to recover back on the high price.

Based on experience, altcoins dump hard after the hype was over now that Bitcoin is also experiencing correction there’s a chance that price of this token will slowly lose its value. Not a financial advice.

thank you, that certainly sounds very clever, but I believe Bitcoin will have another rally next week... potentially that relief rally many are waiting for. last time the price was "dancing" at the same spot for a few days was before last ATH...

Nobody knows if the price is going to go up or down. Anybody that says so would only do in hindsight. Since you're already invested, you've to be watchful of the charts and the community sentiment to know when the hype will due down for a while. In such a situation, you want to cut your losses earlier than letting it slowly continue to bleed. Now, you're part of their community so try not to be a bagholder. As for their founders leaving leaving, it has advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages is that now, there's almost no one left that can make a decision that can affect the overall trajectory of Zcash over the larger community.

We'll never know but as long as it remains to have a good volume, the likely of its recovery is very possible. And yes, it might take a while.

Although this isn't a financial advice but just a mere opinion but this isn't a validation that it will 100% what will happen.

As someone who had got bad investments, I wish that you'll be able to make it with zcash where you've thrown most of your money.

Of course, you've chosen the right time to invest in Zcash. Besides, the price has been heavily pumped recently.

This is another example of "our" forecasts being completely "off". Because in our forecasts, we can't evaluate or take into account all the factors influencing the market situation. In the case of Zcash, this means the forced dissolution of the development team.

So far, you haven't lost anything. You still have Zcash you bought, right? Until you realize your profit (or, in your case, your loss), your losses aren't realized and remain only "on paper".

You can consider yourself a loser, as you'll have to wait for Zcash to rise before selling profitably.

In principle, this shouldn't affect the performance and viability of Zcash, but the crypto market is susceptible to even the slightest influence. We'll see what these events lead to. In your case, you have no choice but to watch and wait after your ill-timed investments.

You made a classic mistake traders always make with trending coins. Buying due to FOMO, and now you are at a point where you have to hold the coin until it goes back up at least to the price where you bought it or even more. Problem is, you may have to wait for years for this to happen, especially if crypto winter is to start soon

We can't tell for sure, but you need to learn to manage your risk to avoid such scenarios. Losses are part of trading, but how much loss are you will to take per trade.
