There are people from almost every country on this forum and I like how it is. We can get different perspectives from different regions. Even though a lot of information is available on the internet, being able to learn the views of people from that region directly is a big advantage. So I wanted to ask you about the attitude of the authorities in your country toward Bitcoin. Is there a Bitcoin ban in your country? What is the government's stance? Are there taxes, are there strict regulations? Can you use Bitcoin for purchases? Can you trade crypto-currencies freely? If there are bans in your country, is there an opposition party or leader that promises to lift them? If there are bans, do you still vote for the government because you like their other policies? Or would you vote for an opposition that has a positive view of Bitcoin? Let me hear your thoughts and don't forget to mention your country.

In my country our government have no clear stands between dislike and like of bitcoin, before now there was a ban in cryptocurrency related transactions with banks but not that bitcoin use was clearly ban and today we are free to use crypto not taxed but currently we are beginning to get taxed for incomes regardless of whether it's crypto or not, so since the government have no clear grounds if they want it or not it stays in the clouds yet used freely. not banned nor accepted either just there with free use.

Bitcofin is not banned in my country. Bitcoin is taxed in my country. The government in my country does not against bitcoin to be used in purchasing but people are not just using it but they prefer using fiat. Yes we can trade bitcoin freely in my country but bitcoin tax has to be paid.

There's no ban on crypto in my country, there's income tax and you pay when you covert coins to Fiat, the regulations on Bitcoin in my country is not strict, you can buy and spend your Bitcoin without any problem or querrey but we are not using Bitcoin as legal tender except you have someone that is willing to offer a service and receive Bitcoin as payment. I'm satisfied with government stance about Bitcoin in my country. Few exchange are ban but yet you can still use many other trusted exchange to buy your coins.

Bitcoin is a regulated investment in the country where I live and it can be done through banking account, although all your coins are held by the bank and you are never allowed to transact it outside the system. It's not a good deal.
Adoption is still low, though. Most investors prefer the stability of fixed income investments, while majority of the population aren't investors, anyway. They just spend their whole wages month after month, surviving, instead of living and thriving.
In a certain way, it's good that BTC investment isn't that popular here, otherwise the government would get greedy and enforce further regulations and taxes against investors, just like they do towards every popular activities among the masses.

I can see that the government in my country is still working on bitcoin, probably trying to offer more bitcoin opportunities to the people. And that's great, I know they never liked bitcoin at first, but due to its high demand from the citizens, our government has already become more open to bitcoin, and banning is already far from happening.
For now, bitcoin is already taxed when there are transactions made, but people are more using it as an investment than being a currency.

Let me hear your thoughts and don't forget to mention your country. For my country now is actually quite more comfortable than before even though bitcoin is still a commodity asset but the treatment is a little better than before because it seems like they are still setting neutral to address this. But this is certainly much better than having to have a ban especially since the government has also started implementing some rules even though it is for their own benefit in terms of taxes but that doesn't matter to me as long as it doesn't mention regulations that lead to negative things. Maybe in the future there will be some new policies here, especially since some time ago there was a policy on regulation to at least be more literate about crypto even though the scope is not comprehensive and does not only focus on bitcoin.

. Is there a Bitcoin ban in your country?
Yes, Bitcoin is banned in my country. What is the government's stance? Are there taxes, are there strict regulations? Our country's government is against Bitcoin, so we don't have to pay taxes because Bitcoin is banned in our country. Can you use Bitcoin for purchases? No, I haven't been able to use Bitcoin for purchases, maybe that opportunity will come in the future. If there are bans in your country, is there an opposition party or leader that promises to lift them?
I haven't heard any such news yet, I don't know when we will see a leader supporting crypto in our country. If there are bans, do you still vote for the government because you like their other policies? Or would you vote for an opposition that has a positive view of Bitcoin?
It's not possible for me alone here, I vote for the one whose popularity is higher. As far as I know, there is no political party that supports crypto, but if there was a party that supports crypto, I would vote for that party.

Well as for now I don't think there are any strict rules against Bitcoin although to some extend their is actually a little bit taxation and even that too is not properly regulated although the motive have forced some of the big crypto exchange like binance to limit their operations in my nation. But regardless I think an average Nigerian with Bitcoin knowledge and experience can say the situation is not bad with the government stands on. Bitcoin.

Let me hear your thoughts and don't forget to mention your country. PH here. This country has not been too harsh towards Bitcoin. In fact, it is regulated and permitted by the authorities after it was discovered that many people are interested in Bitcoin. Though Bitcoin is not recognized as legal tender (obviously), there are a handful of stores/shops here (at least here in my region) that are accepting Bitcoin as payment for goods or services via P2P. Usually, gadgets and computer stores. I heard big cities here, like in Manila has a larger number of establishments who accepts Bitcoin. They have established some laws about crypto taxation, but I believe there are still a lot of things that are going to change, simply because of how volatile Bitcoin is, and the authorities might have found it difficult to compute how much an individual's potential earnings are. Just lately, they have found a better solution how. The process is long, but I think it's gonna be worth it in order for everyone to feel secure that everything is taxed accordingly. There are no crypto bans in the country so far, but the authorities are banning exchanges that are not licensed to operate inside the country. One example is Binance. I can't recall any political parties that are against Bitcoin generally, so I guess we're all good in here. The only thing that needs to improve is how most people here perceive Bitcoin, a lot of them still think it's a scam (again, at least here in my region).

The government of my country, Nigeria, have not shown a clear stance on Bitcoin which rather make it so confusing for us. Sometimes they sound so promising about Bitcoin but other times they act funny including freezing bank accounts of anyone that add Bitcoin to his transaction description. There was speculation of full regulations in the paste but that was overtaken by events. Right now we still use Bitcoin discretely to avoid getting into troubles because the IP addresses of exchanges are blocked by country so access to exchanges are done through VPN and their mobile applications, which shows they have not soften their harshness towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general.

Over here in Nigeria, the regulations on Bitcoin and crypto ain’t that clear but it is not banned, Cryptocurrencies are now officially recognized and classified as securities in Nigeria..that was last year. I’m somehow a bit satisfied because they are no taxes on crypto and the regulations ain’t that very strict, it still left freely and I love that. Is there a Bitcoin ban in your country?
Nope, it was lifted. What is the government's stance?
Neutral Are there taxes, are there strict regulations?
There are no taxes on crypto yet, but the government has just implemented a Personal income tax and they might implement a complete tax framework this year. So they are no taxes on crypto for now. Can you use Bitcoin for purchases? Can you trade crypto-currencies freely?
People use Bitcoin and USDT for purchases even though Bitcoin isn’t a legal tender in Nigeria but most-atimes you can only purchase gadget with it because gadgets businesses are the ones mostly accepting that means of payment..and YES you can freely trade Cryptocurrencies in Nigeria but you will need to be a bit cautious.

As I notice the approach really depends on how government adopt Bitcoin on each countries. On some counties we could see that they are not banning this coin, but they are adopting. We could see lots of countries including those bigger ones support Bitcoin since they see either this is helpful for their country or with this this can help their country to get more attention and help leaders to boost their political careers. But still even if those case is happening still its good that nothing, people on crypto friendly nations need to adopt the law and taxations asked by the government. The only thing not widely happening is we see merchants adopting Bitcoin since it will be great to see a massive adoption if merchants in our places take their involvement and start to adopt Bitcoin. We are lucky that we are in country that have open minded leaders that's why we are enjoying the perks for investing and continuously using it everyday. I feel bad for those people have strict leaders a and stick to traditional system since they are not been allowed or Bitcoin has been totally ban in their country. Lots of opportunities has been missed by this people so hopefully there's change of hearts will happen in future and those countries ban Bitcoin will chance their stance to became supportive in this asset.

I'm not satisfied with the kind of politics our government is playing with bitcoiners in Nigeria, for not making bitcoin a legal tender were citizens can use bitcoin to buy anything they want and pay with my bitcoin in the country, I can still remember when this current administration was campaigning that they will make bitcoin legal tender to the whole country of Nigeria which make bitcoiners in the country to joined hands with others citizens in the country to make sure this new administration represent the country, but since this current administration has occupied all the sectors in government positions but they don't want to make bitcoin legal tender in Nigeria to fulfill their campaign promise to bitcoiners in Nigeria, I know is not only Nigeria government that is using bitcoin legal tender to play politics with bitcoiners, but bitcoiners have learned their lesson not to allow any government to play politics with what will benefit the youths.

Bitcoin falls under a gray area in my country. Not too restricted but also not too supported. One of the most significant event I can think of recently would be the banning of binance. But even then it wasn’t strictly implemented as people can still use it. If I were to compare my country to others within the region, I’d say we are falling a little behind

I have seen some few posts from my fellow countrymen (Nigeria) under this thread with a diverse opinion as if we are under a separate government. This simply show how unclear government policy is towards Bitcoin and crypto in it entirety. Hence, there's different interpretation by different individuals. Now back to your questions, Yes, there was once a banned that later got lifted and since then you can not tell the actual government stance. Although there's no strict regulations but there are taxes attached to crypto withdrawal from exchange. You can trade or purchase with Bitcoin but it's not actually freely since it's not government approved and you'll face the consequences in case anything happens during the process. Both the ruling parties and the opposition parties do not care about Bitcoin. It has no serious impacts on their campaign because majority know nothing about cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is not banned in our country, and the government is working on regulating it. We have a pretty much good population of people here in my country who are at least familiar or into bitcoin and crypto in general. Especially during the popularity of Axie, a lot of people tried getting into this space.
We have authorities who regulates bitcoin. Although I think the government are still at the early stage of adapting bitcoin, afaik the legislative have several bills proposed related to bitcoin. And of course, sooner there will be tax involved ones these bills passed.

I'm from Indonesia... The government is quite friendly towards Bitcoin. -Bitcoin is not banned -The government's attitude is quite friendly towards crypto development. -There is a tax on buying and selling crypto on our local exchange platform, at least this is the rule: https://artikel.pajakku.com/tarif-pajak-jual-beli-kripto-terbaru-menurut-pmk-502025-Using bitcoin for transactions is not possible because it is prohibited, especially for purchasing goods, only IDR applies while buying and selling bitcoin on local exchanges. -The government earns a considerable amount of income from the crypto trading tax. At least we are satisfied with the current government because there is nothing forbidden about bitcoin. Bitcoin is considered a commodity asset.

I am now an Indonesian citizen. And I feel that in this country, Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are treated very well. Even though they are only considered commodity assets, this allows us to trade them with peace of mind because there are clear regulations in place. additionally, the taxes imposed are very low compared to other countries or even my country of origin. coincidentally, in my country of origin, cryptocurrency is considered a security asset, and the regulations there are quite strict. However, it is also quite crypto-friendly. However, in Indonesia, I feel that everything is much easier. Based on some past news reports, it turns out that in this country, payments with Bitcoin were even available in many stores. That was when there were no clear regulations at the time. But now that there are clear regulations, payments with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are no longer permitted.

I must say our country Nigeria is partially not that friendly with bitcoin transaction or cryptocurrency transactions because you can't buy bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies coin out there directly using our Mastercard, as I believed before the restrictions we were able to purchase bitcoin directly through our cards without having to use the P2P sections. But after the restrictions and limitation a p2p was introduced where we do have to bye-cut the process of involving the banks to our transactions, but even that it was later lifted but yet we can't still purchase bitcoin through our master cards, this is to show how bad and strict they could be, and of course there are new laws that was implemented in this January about taxation to those who transacting above 800k per months on their account and some certain percentage would be withdrawn from their account at either Quarterly or Annually.
The politicians has less interest in bitcoin they don't really put their interest to study and understand how bitcoin works or other cryptocurrencies works over the time. Again, none is purchasing for the use of bitcoin or legalizing bitcoin and cryptocurrency in our country Nigeria. But even as that I can still say that there are huge trading and transactional volume recorded from our country, and even though the ban that doesn't restricts or limits us from not trading and transacting bitcoin and other digital currencies through either p2p, onchain, and offchain.
