Bitok currently exposes the original getwork interface from Bitcoin 0.3.x. It works as designed, but modern miners and pools expect block templates and extranonce support.

Extending the mining API does not change core or any consensus rules. It only affects how work is distributed to miners.

I’m planning to implement a more complete mining API so that:

modern pools can support Bitok

third-party miners can be used

variance can be reduced during periods like this

The protocol remains intact. The rules remain the same.
This is strictly an interface-level improvement.

I forsesee great issues with the difficulty re targeting. Consider running through a model where a large percentage of the hash rate drops off.

this is satoshi's vision. built by satoshi. works like satoshi.

works like gold and moves like gold

lets move the worlds

i like the way this bitcoin operates. (no changes, the original vision)

how to get private keys?

Bitok follows the original Bitcoin wallet design.

Private keys are generated internally and stored in wallet.dat. There is no per-address key export feature.

Ownership is defined by possession of wallet.dat. Back it up.

Finally mined 1 block

At 968 diff and network hashrate 123 kH/s, if your CPU produces 1 kH/s, you control about 0.8% of the network hashpower.

On average:

Expected blocks per miner = 1 / 0.008 ≈ 1 block every 125 blocks

With a 10-minute target, that’s ~20 hours per block on average

That is an average, not a schedule. You may find two blocks close together or none for many hours. Both outcomes are normal.

The current difficulty reflects earlier, higher hashrate. As blocks continue to come in slower, the next retarget will lower difficulty to match the present network power.

https://bitokd.run

I noticed as well the new difficulty. I'm still mining though 2 days no blocks yet but I hope luck strikes again. I've been mining since before the difficulty rise, got on kind of early. I'm a bitok dedicated miner, willing to provide my mining power to support the bitcoin (2010) network. I have two machines, it's three actually but I'm using my main machine ryzen 7 pro 8700ge [phoenix edition] full time mining bitcoins, the second machine is being used for mining but has bit of  gaming too so only part time mining on the second pc and the last machine which isn't connected up because I gave up on crypto 2 weeks ago felt like crypto was letting me down so told my family member to help me sell my own big powerful computer. But I guess I made a mistake on trying to get it sold because all of a sudden I found bitcoin bitok, which reignited the phoenix in me and for me to carry on and decypher/decrypt blocks by supporting/mining bitok network. I can't wait to see when is my lucky block rewards going to arrive but I'm excited from the waiting and surprises. I'll update once I  find my next block. - yours sincerely. Bitok 0.3.19.7

This update improves network behavior and corrects difficulty reporting.

Changes:

Peer connections grouped by /16 subnet with per-group limits

Anchor connections for more stable peers

Checkpoint added at height 14000

Proper Unix daemon forking

Difficulty reporting has been corrected.

RPC output (getdifficulty, getmininginfo, getinfo) now reflects Bitok’s reference target.
Mining and block validation behavior are unchanged.

back to the future, haha Cool

Sometimes the future looks a lot like 2010, but with better hash functions.

It's still too difficult for someone who's only getting into the blockchain industry in 2025. I've been researching for two days, and I still can't get the Bitok mining program up and running, and I haven't even created a wallet address! The firewall has already whitelisted it, but in China, is it because of a VPN?

Are there any plans to simplify mining? Or plans to list it on an exchange? So I can buy it directly.

lovely pool, nice design, love it

one of my gaming machines is mining on your pool because i have trouble keeping this computer online 24/7 because this computer system gets used by my family members a lot for gaming, so pool mining is useful for me than to solo mine, i tried solo mining on it but found that if i don't keep my mining online 24/7 i won't find much luck by running it for a few hours a day. atleast now with pool mining i can log my block shares with youre nice looking pool and also for the 1% you keep as a fee is well worth my time. id rather get a few shares than rather than losing a few blocks, a few hours a day, of mining solo with very lower luck rate wont catch any blocks.

and yes this is a family pc, i own it and i paid and bought it for the family.

and i have another pc online and mining too 24/7

and yes...

i believe in bitok

thanks for introducing you're pool to me, iam supporting youre mining pool with a bit of my hash power

exchange(s) listing will arrive in due time, we've got to give bitok time to bloom, its only been planted in the soil hehe

i have not had much luck in crypto recently, i keep my promises on being honest on this topic.

now that i have an interest in bitok, id like support it, i have joined and would like to keep up with the journey of bitok

anyways just like to see if people are understanding that im trying my best, ive always have

if anyone would like to show me support, then it's much appreciated or a free will of good gesture.

yours sincerely.

Hi Tongpu,

I've noticed that my pool hash rate, was being calculated in error. Was higher. I've noticed that 6 miners suddenly disappeared just then. My miner is still online and is reporting the stats. It's now reporting my correct mining hash, when that sudden change happened just a few minutes ago.. did you upgrade or change anything on the pool side?

I have about nearly 300 accepted shares on my mining software but now I saw on lastbitcoin.org, that' stats have changed or reset and I've noticed my pool shares had lowered from 300 shares to now 50.

Could you please help me here, i should have accumulated by now and see no payments yet. I should by now have 2.10000000 coins or or more available in my wallet for mining for 2 hours I think

Thanks will be waiting for your response and help

And I'll keep monitoring and testing for you if anything goes wrong

In advance I appreciate your support

Payouts are made only after 121 12 block confirmations

Imporant

I’ve created a dedicated support thread for the pool here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5572258.0

Please post all pool-related questions, issues, and feedback in that thread.
Do not spam the main Bitok thread.

Thank you.

@elvisjedusor
There should have been approximately 60/10*24=144 blocks per day, the first block was on the 10th, in 2 weeks that's approximately 2000 blocks (144 * 14), 100,000 coins in circulation.
But in our explorer there are 15,000 blocks, that's 750,000 coins? Is that such a big difference?
Where can I see the top 100 wallets, how many blocks/months per day, how many coins are in circulation now?

Blocks are found probabilistically.
The 10-minute interval is a long-term target, not a fixed rate.
Block frequency depends on hash rate relative to difficulty.

If I understand correctly, every time Bitok is generated, a brand new address is created.

I’m using the same wallet on two different computers. Each computer generated Bitok independently.
However, the newly generated addresses are not synchronized between wallets, and there is no way to manually add or rescan addresses.

As a result, the same wallet ends up showing different transactions and different balances depending on the computer used.

This means that if a wallet instance did not generate an address itself, it will never detect the transaction, even though it belongs to the same wallet.

One workaround would be to transfer all funds to a single “common” address shared by all wallet instances.
However, this goes directly against basic privacy principles imagined by Satoshi, as it requires address reuse and makes transaction linking trivial.

Additionally, I’m unable to import a wallet generated on Windows into Linux using the same Bitok version.
The import fails with error 22, and the wallet is not imported at all.

A wallet holds a set of private keys. Addresses are public identifiers derived from those keys.

If the same wallet.dat is used on two machines, they are not meant to operate independently. New keys generated on one copy do not exist in the other.

This is how Bitcoin 0.3 behaved. Bitok behaves the same way.

A wallet can only detect transactions for keys it contains.

Address reuse is not required. Consolidation, if desired, is done later by spending.

Additionally, I’m unable to import a wallet generated on Windows into Linux using the same Bitok version.
The import fails with error 22, and the wallet is not imported at all.

Error 22 is likely a Berkeley DB environment error.

Shut down the client.
Copy wallet.dat into the Linux data directory (~/.bitokd/).
Make sure file permissions allow read/write.

Start once with:

Code:
./bitokd -recover

This rebuilds the wallet database and usually fixes cross-platform DB issues.
