Bitok faucet is now available for those who want to experiment with the network.

freebitok.com

It distributes small amounts so users can test transactions, scripts and RPC without mining first.

Amounts adjust based on balance.

The faucet is funded publicly.
Donations can be sent to faucet address:
1MTq2ZHYzUktH8PQkUSVyx26GJfGVZwVMe

Balance and transactions are visible on the explorer.

I wasn't expecting this. Fantastic! I feel like a time traveler now Cheesy

I know this is silly but I have an honest question for the OP: what's the correct way to pronounce Bitok? Is it Bit-OK or as in tiktok?
I saw that there is a company with the same name (bitok.org), also in the crypto space. So I wonder if that could lead to confusion.

Multisig Signing, Sighash Types, Script Sandbox
https://github.com/elvisjedusor/bitok/commit/20ff42a62b5b8969f32ec924ab59932fbce0bc3a

Added multisignature transaction signing.
The wallet detects m-of-n outputs, signs when sufficient keys are present, and merges partial signatures.

signrawtransaction now accepts a sighash type parameter:
ALL, NONE, SINGLE, optionally with ANYONECANPAY.

New RPCs:

createmultisig - returns address and redeemScript from pubkeys (no wallet required)
addmultisigaddress - same, resolving keys from the wallet and storing a label
analyzescript - static inspection: type, opcode count, sigops, consensus validity
validatescript - sandbox execution with a preloaded stack, returns result and final stack

Enables standard 2-of-3 escrow, SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY constructions, and cold storage workflows.
Scripts can be tested locally without broadcasting transactions.

More details:
https://github.com/elvisjedusor/bitok/blob/master/SCRIPT_TEMPLATES.md

Updated:
https://github.com/elvisjedusor/bitok/blob/master/RAW_TRANSACTIONS.md

All changes follow the original 0.3.19 transaction model.
No consensus rules were modified.

It's pronounced "Bit-ok"

There's no relation to bitok.org or any other project using a similar name.

The network is defined by its code and rules. The name is just a label.

You can use the only exchange trading this token as of now: https://rabid-rabbit.org.
Or better yet, you can mine it Smiley

Wallet-level support for non-standard scripts
https://github.com/elvisjedusor/bitok/commit/20ff42a62b5b8969f32ec924ab59932fbce0bc3a

The wallet now recognizes and handles additional script templates enabled by the restored opcodes (from 18000 block).

ClassifyScript()
Nine new template types are defined. These include hashlocks (HASH160 and SHA256), arithmetic gates, bitwise constructions (with and without signatures), CAT-based covenants (hash-bound, signature-bound, or standalone), and splice scripts.
Scripts using these opcodes are identified explicitly instead of being labeled “nonstandard.”

Solver()
Hashlock templates are integrated into the signing path.
When the wallet has both the private key and the required preimage, it can construct:

Code:
<sig> <pubkey> <preimage>

for the corresponding output.

mapHashPreimages
Preimage-to-hash mappings are stored by the wallet and protected under the existing key lock.

New RPCs:
addpreimage - register raw hex data; computes and stores HASH160 and SHA256 mappings.
listpreimages - display registered entries.

analyzescript enhancement
When a recognized template is detected, the RPC reports the template name, expected scriptSig structure, and spending requirements.

Documentation updated:
SCRIPT_TEMPLATES.md

These changes extend wallet functionality to match the available Script capabilities.

Bitok chain is ready to cross block 18000.

All consensus, relay, mining, and wallet height gates reviewed. No off-by-one errors. Activation is reorg-safe and derived strictly from block height.

*Upgrade your node to the latest release.

What next.

I've started work on a TypeScript SDK for Bitok.

It will be published as an external library, not integrated into the node.

The goal is to provide typed RPC access, script construction helpers, transaction building, and contract primitives (multisig, hashlocks, etc.) without modifying the core client.

Bitok’s extended script functionality (CAT, arithmetic, bitwise ops) makes higher-level tooling useful. Most users won’t need it. Developers building contracts will.

This keeps the node simple while enabling experimentation at the application layer.

The repository will be published once the structure stabilizes. Developers are welcome to participate via issues and pull requests.

Up until a week ago, the block mining time was not very stable. There would be no blocks mined for about an hour, followed by 3-4 blocks mined within the next 5 minutes. It seems like this situation has been improved. A new block is being mined approximately every 10 minutes, and the situation appears to have stabilized. Great.

Block time depends on hashrate and difficulty. Hashrate changes faster than difficulty adjusts, so block intervals fluctuate. That’s normal.

Curious where you all see this heading price-wise relative to BTC.
The concept for Bitok is fascinating: a parallel-universe BTC, a second chance for those who missed the first wave. Plus a version of BTC not damaged by politics and other interferences. It should resonates with people.
That said, I see a few red flags that are keeping me on the sideline. So I'm curious to hear what other people following this project think.

maybe enlighten us on what you see as a red flag, we're all here trying to not only get a second chance but to actually do it right and thrive on it together,

some things may not appear appealing for you and me, and that's where we say them and ask or suggest solutions for them.

the Dev is not your girlfriend/boyfriend he can't know what red flags you see and address them correctly, we see something we don't like or understand we ask about it and when we see a problem we try to solve it, not say I think I see a problem and I'm waiting to see if it may be solved or not lol.

Chill out. You're the one getting emotional over a conversation. I'm clearly interested in the project, otherwise I wouldn't be here.

sorry that came out harsh,

what I meant to say is share your concerns with us, I'm not affiliated with the project, but sharing your concerns would educate us, and alarm the devs to close any holes or make any modifications needed to avoid red flags that might harm the project or drive people away.

Thank you, I appreciate that  Smiley

I genuinely think this project is a great idea. Ironically, in a sea of altcoins all trying to do a hundred different things, it’s refreshing to see one that’s actually attempting to go back in time and explore a path that was never taken. I think that’s incredibly clever.

That said, my main concern is adoption. Just like Bitcoin, this token can only become meaningful if people use it, trade it, and talk about it. We could build the best chain in the world, but that won’t matter if no one engages with it. In that sense, branding could become a serious hurdle. There’s already another company called Bitok, and on top of that, Bitok appears to be a fairly common surname in Kenya. If you search for it on X, most of what you see is unrelated posts about individuals. That makes it much harder to stand out and gain traction.

For this project to succeed, we need people to feel genuinely excited about it. That requires a compelling narrative, one that positions this coin as an attempt to follow the path Satoshi originally envisioned for Bitcoin before it was diverted by powerful interests. There’s also a powerful emotional angle: giving people who regret missing Bitcoin in the early 2010s what feels like a second chance. That’s an incredibly strong story.

But to make that resonate, we’ll need a trustworthy team, strong branding, and a cohesive, compelling narrative that people can believe in.

For the record, I do believe that this could be a very successful project.

yeah totally I remember when ETHpow came in play and everyone that it will bring us back to ETH days but it really didn't go anywhere, what's promising about this project is honestly the least project that did try to dump all it's coin in markets and destroy its value from day 1, and also it's very easy to understand to even people who are new to crypto, download wallet, set cores to mine, and forget it. no ubuntu or programming skills needed what so ever.

unlike many alt coins people (including myself) are not willing to sell yet but we want to see where this goes.

that by itself is something 95% of alt coins can't do, they get dumped day one on any trade.

I hope this one becomes a success and I'm really glad I caught it early not 12 years too late.
