It's certainly a political propaganda trying to stop bitcoin from where its heading to, because the banks and government have started to witness how slowly people have fallen into bitcoin, and they won't allow that to happen that's why different attacks have been hit to bitcoin to ruin its system, good thing bitcoin is firm enough not to be easily shaken or ruined its own system.

And reality hits us that whatever the government that is beyond their control, they don't let it in. Because it only means one thing, they can't benefit it the most, more than the people can gain advantage from bitcoin.

. Why doesn't anyone show the energy breakdown of banking systems, military, data centers, gold mining?
. Why is only Bitcoin made an environmental villain?

You should know that anything the government is benefiting from, or they are controlling, even if it’s having some negative impact, they not going to complain about it, you won’t even see them say anything about it, but if they not benefiting, they will look for ways to bring it down.

They are just attacking the system that cannot be controlled, the government are looking for excuses to bring down bitcoin, but they are failing. If we talk about energy consumption, their are some things that consumes more energy than bitcoin mining, but since the government are benefiting from those things, then they are not complaining or saying any negative things about those things, but they are complaining about bitcoin, because they know they are not in control of bitcoin.

There has been so many criticisms that has surrounded Bitcoin over the years and this too is just one of the many.
In the past, we have had companies relocate to cheaper countries or regions where electricity is cheaper and they can be innovative with ways to convert energy for efficiency to power both the mining farms and power households and other uses.

I would agree it is just political propaganda because mining Bitcoin may demand steady electricity and from research online, there has been hydro and wind energy uses as among fossil fuels and renewable energy that has been developed to assist the mining process, this being independent of external sources of electricity that may not be sufficient.

Mining is a gainful or rewarding activity through which, new Bitcoins are released into the Bitcoin network. Electricity used in mining activities isn’t a waste, it’s a wise use of resource.

Climate change has being an issue before the advent of Bitcoin and still would be. Industrialization has done way more to the climate than Bitcoin can ever do or hope to do. Yet, Bitcoin is being put on the frontlines because, it’s far outside of their control.

There are bunch of products and technology especially those industrial are the one who's destroying the environment. Even the medical field which cure humanity are also produces a lot of chemicals and toxins that affects the environment. There are solutions to this and I'm sure this is just another political propaganda back then, we know that energy isn't a problem if we can use reusable or renewable energy, but people are blinded to surface level ideas and blame bitcoin for energy consumption. Climate change is already there due to humanity irresponsible act in the environment so It's not BTC's fault, you can't stop innovation, and you can't blame if a modern technology that solve majority issues of finance blow up. Aside from the noise of the mining rig, which alot of solutions to prevent it from disturbing neighbors. Just like we have always seen a lot of misinformation and negative statements just to cause fud about innovative technology when the internet was introdued the same thing is what we're seeing here, and the fact is that the C02 release through gas(petrol) causes more harm to the environment than Bitcoin did. Those resources you provide is available and people just need to read it. Lots of debunks towards those situation has been presented and I think all Bitcoiners at this point is not buying that narrative anymore.

I've once created a post on this same topic on this very board but it's a long time ago, should be between 2020 and 2022 or 2023, though under a different title/subject but discusses exactly this same thing.
The whole talks about bitcoin mining which is a proof of work not being environmentally friendly is all for political propaganda and nothing more..

We have industries that consume way more energy than bitcoin does, yet, no one talks about any of those industries, and add to the ones you already listed, we have the video game industry as well, this industry consumes energy far more than bitcoin anyone thinks bitcoin mining consumes, yet, never have I ever heard someone talk about how unfriendly this industry is to our environment, but like you said, they simply will attack that which they try to gain control over but couldn't.

Simply because people don’t think bitcoin is necessary. They believe bitcoin is just destroying the environment for no reason. While other systems can get away with it. They just do not like the idea of an alternative system not catering to the government. The truth is a lot of things harm the government and everything should be making a conscious effort to lessen the damage to the environment not just bitcoin.

You are correct in saying that new technology usually meets Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt same way internet was in 1990s, however, current miners are truly saving environment as they are able to burn poison methane gas to make electricity. Bitcoin was introduced in 2009 and before that we have elements in place that were destroying earth environment like industries emitting toxic gases in air. Generating energy (electricity) by buying fossil fuels is not good for environment and that practise was in place even before launch of Bitcoin. It's a reality that governments and other centralised institutes like banks don't like the concept of Bitcoin that's why they are creating negative propaganda to stop it's popularity. Energy used by Bitcoin is nothing compared to energy used by industries that are destroying the mother nature.

I have not seen bitcoin mining machine neither know how it works so I don't know how the pollution is. But from explanation from people in in the threads I have read. There might be a noise pollution and the hydrocarbon can affect many organisms. So the argument is not from the truth. As time goes, there must be a silent solution to solve that problem. The environments that accepting to do that would face d some noise and other environmental disadvantages. But we are not since they are not in our regions.

Where I stay there is a company that mines crude oil and they are consistently emitting harmful gas in the environment affecting people and agriculture, destroying lands, pulling down houses built to advance their pipelines and destroying aquatic lives with oil spillage, yet the government supports the environmental hazards they pose and even sends them heavy military backup for their operations. Another one harvests sharp sand from river beds and make the river deeper, shove some lands off and extend the river banks in search for more sands and poses risks of land collapse and possible erosion, to my surprises, they were sent by the governor of the state to do such environmental harm close to a major road. Now same government would push the narrative that bitcoin harms the environment.

Bitcoin doesn't seems to do even 1/10 of what other processes do to the environment, yet it is constantly called out to be harming the environment. We all know it is a careless propaganda used by the government to slow the advancement of bitcoin and try to control it.
