The kind of double standard in this tech industry is not even hidden anymore, I have seen demands on data center triple just within 3 years that many researchers are concerned with the environmental effect, the water demand and land masses given to this centers but once they reign in the media for small weeks or month, they get switched by another topic to distract everyone, but Bitcoin is where they see problem, they know what they are doing.

OP, this is coming from a experience Bitcoin miner, I just started too but I have alot to talk about base on the question you asked.

It's all a big lie, that BITCOIN mining affects or destroys the environment, it's a FUD.
I have been sleeping in the same room as my miners, I passed the heat generated from my Asic miners through the window, it works very well.

I treated malaria a month ago and I did some checkups, just in case and all results came out perfectly, no issues at all, the only correct complain you are ever going to see is the noise and there is a way to limit it if you have high numbers of Asic miners.
