This is welcome development for the Bitcoin community as president Donald Trump plans to not to tax Bitcoin in the United States of America, because no doubt, America holds the largest number of Bitcoin investors and holders, and with this recent law not to tax Bitcoin will drive a lot of adoption by many of the US citizens who never wanted to give Bitcoin a try, and with this New law, I'm a bit convinced that Bitcoin is likely to cross the $100k benchmark once again before the end of this January 2026.
Donald Trump has always been a huge instrument to the recent development of Bitcoin, and with him staying in office for the next 4yrs as we experience another Bitcoin halving, I'm confident Bitcoin can also cross $200k benchmark with Donald Trump still in office for the next 4yrs.

Putting an end to tax on Bitcoin is a good step. It shows government acceptance and that way they can be lenient on policies that are strangling adoption. Let's hope they do more than removing the tax.

To this day, I have never seen or encountered a ghost except in novels and movies.
What I mean is, I haven't found any news about the elimination of taxes on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. What I found on the X platform was a narrative about Trump wanting to eliminate taxes on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transactions, posted by an account named @cryptorover.
Given Trump's style, which we are all familiar with, will this desire come true? It's just a desire. If it is executed, then congratulations, but Trump is not what we think he is when it comes to making decisions.

I don't think that removing taxation on bitcoin would accelerate the adoption rate of bitcoin because I think that we're already hitting the peak of adoption, what really makes it all look so slow is the people that are trying to control bitcoin and those that still don't have any belief that bitcoin is the future. It's a good thing that taxations in the US will be removed and if I'm wrong that there is more to the acceleration of bitcoin adoption then one thing that you can probably do now is to buy as much bitcoin as you can so you don't regret not buying more in hindsight.

As much as I like the idea of zero taxation, taxes are there for a reason and at least The United States seem to actually do things with the Money they accumulate out of it compared to other countries where a lot of taxes are paid for every thing but little change is seen.  Living in such a country, I can say I really never minded paying a portion of what I earned if I saw better infrastructure, streets, less useless paper work et cetera.

Anyway.  These X posts are a hit or miss really.  Only yesterday I saw the rumor on Gambling Discussion that he is planning to remove taxes on bets.  Now I see this.  I wonder how all these taxes not being collected any more will be in any advantage to the Government, particularly taxes collected from Casinos.  The only thing I can think of is the invasion of Venezuela.  I suppose you can stop collecting taxes if you start invading countries and taking their resources?

Sending and receiving bitcoin aren't taxable events. Selling bitcoin (exchanging it for fiat), trading it for another cryptocurrency, and using it as a means of payment for goods and services are all taxable events.

Senator Lummis has been talking about creating tax exemption for low-value bitcoin transactions. Maybe that's what Trump wants to do as well. When you sell BTC up to a limit, trade it, or use it as payment, you won't be required to pay a capital gains tax. I am sure it's not going to be for unlimited amounts of bitcoin.

True, Since for sure that big media sites provably won't missed this new since this is big development on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency scene.  This could create huge hype if this situation happen this month.

I just remember the screenshot used by OP and I think I see it posted else where last year.

So everything is just a rumor that's why we need to verify each information we read or else we will easily get fooled by those social media pages which usually do this trick spreading misleading information just to get clicks or views.

yes this is actually good news. If this is actually really, many people will be drawn into using bitcoin for different transactions.This  will increase the adoption of bitcoin and some countries that have not been using bitcoin , may start  using it. This policy will widened bitcoin adoption and those that has been shying away from investing in bitcoin as a result of tax will start buying bitcoin.

I don't see it happening. This is just one of those things that Donald Trump says, and he actually doesn't do. Hypothetically speaking, though, if it happens, I guess it will encourage some people to go into crypto.

Removing capital gains tax from crypto completely is not a very wise decision and its not feasible. What I think is feasible is cutting the tax rates. Instead of 10-35%, it can be reduced to 5-20%, but I still don't belive this will happen.
Trump says a lot of things that he doesn't do, I don't think you should take to serious until it happens.

So it spread so fast then but the one OP posted is just a rebrand of same from another user just for engagement (I guess)

If this news is implemented, it will be a great news to Bitcoin Industry.  This will encourage investors to venture into the cryptocurrency and will trigger a huge boost for development and adoption.  Hopefully, this is not just a fake news that is circulating around the internet.

This is actually good, if implemented. I'm glad the Trump administration at least shows some understanding on the bitcoin fellas. The previous administration tried to pull out every single stupid decision to detach themselves from one of the best opportunities of the century.

For those who ponder why this is good news, it's because a merchant accepting bitcoin so far would have to declare their bitcoin transactions as income tax AND as capital gains tax. So, it rendered it very unattractive as means of payment.

It will be nice if he removes tax from bitcoin because I really don’t see any reason why people will be paying tax for holding bitcoin, if Donald Trump succeed in doing this, then he has won some percent of love from the bitcoin holders, I remember when he was contesting for the presidential sit he made a lot of promise to the bitcoin community, but he never did anyone but if he do this I’m sure a lot of the bitcoin holders in the united states will be very happy, let’s just wait and see how this will turn out to be I’m sure Donald Trump we do it.
