The goal of bitcoin being an alternative currency to fiat is already achieved because alot of people are already making use of it for payments of goods and services, what do you mean by bitcoin not having a guarantee of becoming a legitimate alternative currency? Are you saying that bitcoin is illegitimate?

Have you ever used, or are you currently using Bitcoin as an alternative currency to fiat in your daily life? Is Bitcoin legitimate alternative currency in your country? Have businesses and shops in your country accepted Bitcoin yet?

If not for some countries that are being skeptical about accepting Bitcoin as their ledger tender some other countries are already doing that and of course it is legitimate to those countries that has accepted it, don't generalize bitcoin not being a legitimate alternative currency when it is in some part of the world.

Which country has made bitcoin legal tender? As far as I know, El Salvador is currently the only country that allows the use of Bitcoin as a legal alternative currency at the national level.

Currently I don't use Bitcoin as an alternative currency to fiat in my daily life but that doesn't mean that if at any point I meet someone that doesn't mind accepting Bitcoin as payment that I will not make use of it, it is not all about me but also about others,

Bitcoin is not legitimately use as an alternative currency in my country, while the country is still skeptical about it that doesn't mean Bitcoin is not or can not be accepted privately for transactions. I see Bitcoin as a legitimate coin and while the increasing adoption rate and because it is already being used in some part of the world either privately other countries can follow suit as time progresses.

How do you see Bitcoin in 20 years?
-price?
-utility?

Review the past years to predict where Bitcoin will be in 20 years. Most people in the world had never heard of Bitcoin before 15 years ago. Bitcoin is growing at such a rapid pace that currently, it is being considered a store of value. Donald Trump has vowed to make America the capital of Bitcoin. Three states in the US have approved bills to make Bitcoin a strategic reserve. El Salvador has adopted Bitcoin as legal tender. In the next 20 years, many governments will do what developed countries do.

The market cap will increase significantly compared to the current time, which will lead to an increase in price as global demand increases. Currently many governments are manipulation on fiat as a result fiat losing value. Due to inflation they are losing interest in the capital market and are increasing their investment in Bitcoin compared to fiat savings. If this trend continues for the next 20 years the use of Bitcoin as a hedge along with traditional assets will increase in almost every country in the world.

-Price: I will do some guesswork here. Looking at the world's population against usage, more demand more liquidity entering the market. If we judge based on what price does after every 4-year cycle, then in 20 years time, Bitcoin must have experienced 5 different bull market cycles. With decreasing supply, this cycle we didn't see Bitcoin do a complete 2x. I think we will have a fair price value around $500k - dollars per BTC, the law of diminishing return effect.

— Utility: many individuals and companies will have Bitcoin in their portfolio/balance sheet.
— Market Cap: Bitcoin must overtake many big tech companies and approach the market cap of gold.
— Government: I don't know what would be the stand of many governments would be by then, because governments would have come and gone, as we have this present Trump government. Some may be anti-crypto, which may come out with their unfavorable policies.

Nowadays, various types of predictions are in vogue, with the decentralized service Polymarket being a prime example. However, in my opinion, 20 years is a very long time to make a relatively accurate forecast, especially now, when there are many significant changes taking place on the planet, with regimes in countries changing, as seen in the recent example of Venezuela. A lot can change in a single year, and in 20 years, the situation can change completely. Financiers also use long-term planning based on past experience. But again, predictions can be completely wrong.

My predictions will be simple, without any analysis, because it is impossible to predict even whether the dollar will have the same value as it does today. Let's say the price of one bitcoin is $20 million, its market capitalization as a share of the entire cryptocurrency market will be less than it is now, and the relevance of using bitcoin will be higher than it is now. Governments will own most of the available bitcoins, and people will dispose of bitcoins within the limits permitted by law at that time.

20 years from now, I expect Bitcoin to experience more adoption. Many countries that have not made Bitcoin legal tender may decide to make Bitcoin legal tender, which I believe will bring massive adoption. This will seriously increase the price of Bitcoin, and it is likely that the price of Bitcoin should be around the range of $500k upward.

For the market cap, it should be 5x the current market cap. As I said earlier, I expect more people to adopt Bitcoin in the next 20 years because I have hope that some countries will make Bitcoin legal tender, or possibly that countries that banned Bitcoin will lift their bans. This will increase the level of adoption. The point is that 20 years from now is a long period, so I expect many changes in Bitcoin growth.

When it comes to the price, I think that bitcoin will be much higher than the current all-time high, a lot of people would be envious that a lot of us right now have bought bitcoin at the current price maybe even when bitcoin reaches 150k+, they would say those "I should've bought bitcoins early", when it comes to utility, I'd say that they're probably going to be the same, maybe we'd see more people use bitcoin as a currency as Satoshi intended. I think that there will be more government involvement in the future especially China, knowing how they want to compete with the Western Powers.

Sure, you're right bitcoin will be higher then current price now, because 20 years from now will make bitcoin increase in value and others that don't really believe in bitcoin or don't get idea about it will surly get the Knowledge and make the bitcoin increase in value and making people buying it well and other countries that think bitcoin is not good in there country they can probably believe in it, and make it legal in the country and make it more popular in the world.

As and investors we don't know how the price of bitcoin will be next 20 years because is volatile, but as and investors and some experience we have the price will surly raise but we can't says the actual amount he will be next 20 years. But if you invest in bitcoin now and leave it next 20 years I get the believe that you will be in a huge profit that is why everytime is and opportunities to invest in bitcoin, is just for you should be patient enough and watch how the price will change in the long term, and make everything go smoothly but you just need to face some challenges before achieve your goals, but if you have the believe anything that happens you won't feel any difficulties, because you get the believe that anytime the price decrease he will surly raise or increases.

How do you see Bitcoin in 20 years?
-price?
-utility?
- In 20 years, the price will be very different from the current price. The lowest price of Bitcoin will be above $500k because in the next 20 years, Bitcoin will be closer to its total amount. Currently, the circulating supply data has reached 19,975,803.

- Utility will be highly beneficial for those who possess it. An example of this is currently being experienced in countries whose currencies have collapsed due to their exchange rates no longer holding value, as seen in Iran.
Bitcoin becomes a solution when the fiat money system collapses. Honestly, I focus more on the utility aspect than the price, though the price is also a concern for me because I can only use Bitcoin as an asset and not as a valid payment method.

In 20 years, a lot may have happened to Bitcoin, both in terms of adoption, regulation, price and market cap. Even though no one can be sure exactly how, but by looking at Bitcoin's development over time and its gradual but consistent adoption, I am sure that Bitcoin will really develop very well in the next 20 years, and it might become the most valuable asset in the world, not only in price, but in its role as a hedge.

A whole lot would happen to Bitcoin in 20 years from now. I think, it will be on a good note that we will see Bitcoin above $500k, the utility will remain the same as the secured peer to peer we know, the marketcap would have been double by then, so many countries that its government declared Bitcoin illegal will change their stance on Bitcoin to be a positive one which would see to its global adoption. And finally, there will be millions of people who Bitcoin would make rich.

In 20 years, I think bitcoin price will probably be around 700k-1m. In the future, I believe bitcoin would have become mainstream, and the media will not be able to convince anyone that bitcoin is a scam or a tool for criminals. At this point, countries will want to experiment with bitcoin. While other countries like UK, US, China e.t.c will probably tighten their regulatory policies on bitcoin, and push CBDCs.
Most likely, bitcoin this time may be finally globalized and people will enjoy using bitcoin as an investment tool or as a reliable currency. And its price may probably reached million already, thus getting so expensive especially for beginners to invest in bitcoin.

However, as a currency, people won't be overthinking whether bitcoin is legit or safe to use since majority could probably have their bitcoin in their own wallet. And they're not just only investing, but maybe trading as well, and using bitcoin as a global currency just like fiat.

We would never be completely sure about what bitcoin would be 20 years from now, because when you look at 20 Years from now, there is every tendency too we might not have bitcoin anymore,
Bitcoin is going to be here as long as humanity keeps existing and making use of money. Bitcoin has gone beyond that level were people were scared of what was going to become the future of it. The awareness of bitcoin was not as much as we have it today 15 years ago but today it has grown and as the years goes by the awareness will keep growing that is what will happen to bitcoin in the next twenty years and beyond. So any fear that you are entertaining that bitcoin won't be here in the next twenty years should be put to rest, as bitcoin is going nowhere.
I agree that anyone who is still fearful about the future of bitcoin and letting that fear become a barrier to investing in bitcoin should put those fear aside. Do not let those things cause us to miss an opportunity that could change our lives.

But to be fair, the future is unpredictable and anything can happen, without exception. Even assets thousands of years old like gold are not guaranteed to retain their value for the next 20 year, let alone an asset that is only 16 years old like Bitcoin. Therefore, having contingency plans such as asset diversification is not a bad idea. Do not invest all your money in a single asset class, whether it is gold or bitcoin.

nobody can give an exact prediction of what the market price of bitcoin will be by the next 20 years because anything can happen, anything like the invention of another digital technology which could have a huge effect on the development and acceptability of bitcoin. These are things we do not know because 20 years from now is a lot of years ahead. As for the adoption rate both government and individuals, it would have increased significantly as many people would have tested and trusted the system by then and lots of people would have accumulated it in their possession too at the same time. I also think that bitcoin would have tripled or quadrupled the current value by then making it possible for lots of people to become millionaires based on their investments

How do you see Bitcoin in 20 years?
-price?
-utility?
-Market cap

Price should be probably around $500k - 700k thats the range I think is should be following it’s behavior over the years as such you may likely predict it to between those figures.

Utility; I’m sure with the recent rapid adoption 20 years from now it will be accepted globally and it will not longer be regarded as just and Asset but a payment tool cus the problem of transactions Malleability has been solved and faster transactions  happens and maybe those transactions fees must have been reduced to the bearest minimum to allow more people use it for payment.

Martel cap isn’t easy to predict  it’s all proportional to adoption but I think it may be around 20-30 trillion.

Government will have to follow the trend and adjust / make policies that are directly influencing the adoption of of bitcoin and they will make use of it in running the government also.

People will then understand how great and foresighted satoshi was to have thought about these awesome idea in 2009.

If we talk about the price, then I would say that after 20 years Bitcoin will be in a position that people could not even imagine. I would say that after 20 years the price of Bitcoin will be between 1 million and 5 million dollars because after 20 years its popularity will increase many times more than it is now and the governments of all countries can legalize Bitcoin. If Bitcoin becomes legal in all countries and Bitcoin transactions start in all banks, then the price of Bitcoin will increase, the popularity of Bitcoin will increase and the market capitalization of Bitcoin will increase.

Very true, especially with the way people are being interested to adopt the idea of decentralised finance, which is what most people are so interested or love about Bitcoin.
Though,  its also necessary to know or have knowledge and and the understanding of Bitcoin, because it has its own ups and downs, which makes it to be a volatile asset, which will help people to make an informed decision concerning their choice on Bitcoin but despite this,  there are many people has made up their minds to adopt it and with this adoption rate, what Bitcoin will be in next 20 years could be something massive.

This topic should be in Predictions section.

I expect Bitcoin to be extremely expensive in the next 20 years to come, so if anyone is still feeling reluctant to start buying small amount of Bitcoin before the next 20 years they will miss out and at that time it would feel too late already.

Buying now might be the last best opportunity to accumulate, because very soon it will be extremely difficult to get Bitcoin if you are not a rich person, the too late that many have been saying in the past year will start coming to real effect at the time.

Everyone's optimistic with bitcoin, and so am I. I think bitcoin 20 years from now, we will no longer hear people getting hesitant with bitcoin because it has proven already its authenticity and profitability as well. I expect that the price will not just reach a million, but more on double or triple with that price, because that's how amazing bitcoin is.

Global adoption has been realized, and that people are already utilizing bitcoin as a regular currency where they can use it to buy or sell anywhere in the world. While some just focus on investing since the value of bitcoin that time will be highly expensive, so expect that the returns will be life-changing for sure. Still, volatility is present, but I think its not as high as today.

Prices will be higher. Market capitalization will continue to change. Governments will become more aware of the usefulness of the Bitcoin system, and the public will become more aware that Bitcoin is more valuable.

The price of Bitcoin will be higher than it is now because it is close to scarcity. In terms of utility, we will prioritize it, although we do not deny that the return price will be higher if it can survive two or three cycles.
Bitcoin will become an alternative when the banking system experiences serious problems.

I too don't see it achieved to its full potential... Only 1/5 of the true potential, imo, if not less.

There are a lot of things still to unpack and work toward.
