Big countries dont want to destroy their infrastructure or property or people so instead of direct fight proxy wars
So usa china will use taiwan as their playground to fight with rules off course it will be definately about drones and techical weapons.
But its a proxy war china got nothing against usa or usa against china its just china and usa need to find out who will be the leader and like old medvial times 2 knights will take the swords and fight 1:1 like gentlemens with style and rules non of them will touch each other lands.

I think they know the implications of destroying lives and properties and how difficult it will be to regain the lost properties. However, this countries love their citizens so much that they don't want to loose their own citizens as a result of war.

War is not a good thing, it causes loss of lives and properties, war can bring under development and make people to desert from a given environment or country . These two countries mentioned here, U.S.A and Russia are among world powers , they have all the sophisticated weapons to fight war, but it will surprise you to see that they wouldn't want war to happen in their own country because they are aware of the devastation that war can cause and therefore, prefer a neutral ground instead of allowing it to take place either in U.S.A or Russia.

Not only Taiwan but also the other nearby countries in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Palau, Guam and all the other countries that are allied to both China and the USA. That's so true that they're using proxies to these wars while keeping their mainlands safe from the possible triggering war. Aside from that, they're also taking a toll from several industries that shall pull each of them to the full potential of it until the competition dries off and only one remains there but, that's unlikely to see.
