If you wan invest in bitcoin, the only thing wey you need to do na to buy am and know how to secure it, and that's that. As for mining, you go buy mining gears, you need to have very cheap electricity, you go gats pay money for maintenance and other whatnots. The factors for mining plenty and so it makes it a more difficult proposition.

That said, if you no fit mine and you still wan contribute to the bitcoin network, then you can do so by running your own full node, come dey validate transactions, dey enforce the network consensus rules.

When it comes to bitcoin mining in Nigeria, you need to get all the required system in place especially electricity and you know that electricity is expensive except you are in a place in Nigeria, where they use free electricity if you’re in a place where they don’t use free electricity then you will spend huge amount of money and again the stress you will go through when you are mining bitcoin it’s too much so it is better to invest by a accumulating and holding than mining bitcoin, i’m not saying that mining bitcoin is not good. If you have the resources to min bitcoin, you can go ahead and do it, but if you don’t have the resources, and it will be stressful to you, there’s no need for you to min bitcoin, all you need to do is to invest in bitcoin by accumulating and holding for a very long time. For me, I see mining bitcoin as a stressful thing to do the resources you will put in mining if you use it to accumulate bitcoin and hold for a long time you will gain more than when you min. This days people mostly focus on their attention in bitcoin investment and not mining.

The way I see it, I would prefer to invest in Bitcoin by either being an institutional investor or just a small time investor with a great holding strategy in mind, because the power or energy demand as well as cost and taxes may be too much to handle with the thoughts of mining Bitcoin at a large scale. Even if I have to be an independent miner, it would cost a lot to set up a mining farm that may be sustainable and not pose a threat to the environment.
