IntroductionRIFT is a fully self-developed Proof-of-Work blockchain written entirely in Rust.
The project focuses on on-chain identity, native assets, and encrypted messaging without relying on external platforms, accounts, or intermediaries.
In RIFT, a wallet represents an identity.
Value transfer, asset issuance, and messaging are handled directly on Layer 1.
RIFT is not a fork of Bitcoin or Ethereum. The entire codebase has been written from scratch in modern Rust.
Core CharacteristicsProof-of-Work consensus
No ICO, no investors, no venture capital
Fully open source (MIT license)
Independent codebase (no reused Bitcoin/Ethereum/... code)
Serial block processing (no BlockDAG, no empty blocks, marketing blocks, hot air blocks)
Deflationary emission model
On-chain identity via wallet keys
Technology OverviewImplemented entirely in modern Rust
Designed for deterministic execution and predictable performance
Each block contains meaningful transactions and is processed sequentially
User-provided computing power is used efficiently and responsibly
Block timeLaunch: variable between 3–10 seconds
Later: adaptive targeting ~1 second or less, depending on network conditions
Smart Contracts, Assets & MessagingNative support for verified token and NFT contracts
Deterministic virtual machine planned for later development stages
Token creation directly through the wallet or browser
No smart contract programming required for basic assets
Token contracts are verified on Layer 1, reducing the risk of malicious tokens
MessagingEnd-to-end encrypted messenger built directly into the wallet
Fully decentralized and operating on Layer 1
Mining, Wallets & AccessWeb-Miner, Web-Wallet with messaging, staking and Tokens available in the browser
- No installation required for basic usage
Native Rust binaries + source Code available for advanced users (Node, CPU+GPU Miner (local Node Mining and Stratum Mining) , Stratum Bridge)
Development StatusRIFT is currently running on testnet.
Completed and usable components:
Node
Wallet
Miner
Browser Miner
Stratum Bridge with Dashboard
Web Wallet
Explorer
Dashboard
All essential components will be available at launch, allowing immediate network participation without advanced technical knowledge.
Emission & Deflation ModelRIFT uses a deflationary emission model with strong early network incentives:
50% of total supply distributed via mining and staking in the first 6 months (daily reductions)
25% distributed over the following 12 months (monthly reductions)
Remaining 25% distributed over the next 25 years (monthly reductions)
Transaction fees are calibrated to ensure sustainable miner incentives in later stages of the network.
Release PlanMainnet launch expected in approximately 1–2 months
Fair mining launch
Exact date will be announced two weeks in advance
Full source code will be published at announcement time
Website & DocumentationOfficial website will go live two weeks before launch
