Wow *Ace*, it all started from an idea of mine, based on a LoyceV post, but you went down the rabbit hole of Statistical Onanism! Well, who am I to dispute your hobbies?
I like the result, but I will repeat it every time; only a thorough read of every single post can give the correct assessment of post quality.

After Blomer gave me his advice and after thinking about it all morning, I made a big change. Let's say that it's no longer about quality but about a reputation score. As you rightly said, quality is difficult to measure; it would require a huge database to process every written text and give it a score. So I created this BRDb, which is nothing more than the same initial formula but compresses the reputation score result on a scale of 1 to 10. A bit like the IMDb rating. There are just a few minor things to fix, but I'll do that later! Honestly, I really like this version! I don't know if everyone will like it or not, but anyone who wants to can download the userscript and try it out as soon as I publish the update on Greasyfork.

You can integrate with this project to enhance your calculations. The idea isn't bad, but I would have to buy a VPS and start all over again! I'll think about it! If it's worth the expense, I might do it, or at least try.

I have an issue with your userscript: if I reload the page, the score often changes. Post and merit value are the same in the mouseover window, but the reputation changes: | | | | From this... | ... to this |

The script may conflict with some extensions. One known conflict is with bpip if you have the 'display topic participation' option enabled. If you disable this option, the script will display the correct score. Unfortunately, I need to fix this issue. I have also updated the script again. Here is how it looks now and what data it will give the user. You can already download it and try it out from this link. Bitcointalk BRDb score v0.7

I really like the card style, the graphics are that extra touch that makes the whole tool appealing. I like it a lot! And I must confess that I have already installed the tool. Too bad my statistics are really disappointing! I will try to be a better user from now on.

i thought a bit more about the imdb style rating system, and it occurred to me: has anyone created a graph showing how movie ratings are distributed on imdb? i found exactly what i was looking for very quickly:
now, this is called a normal distribution. if you don't know what it is, you can understand the logic behind it with a little exploration. in almost every case where there is enough data, distributions occur this way in terms of a feature. you can think of it as one of the laws of nature, or as a mathematical proof. what i want to mention is that, even though i don't really understand the code and the background of what's being done here, i think that if we can understand what kind of distribution the system we're currently using shows for active members on the forum, we can easily pinpoint where the error is. after all, the vast majority of members on this forum should have a brdb between 4 and 6. an average member could be here. below this threshold, there are only spammers posting empty messages and bot accounts, while as the score goes up, the quality of the members should increase and their frequency should decrease. in addition to all this, we must not forget that a bitcointalk user's “quality” is too complex to be calculated using a formula created by comparing post and merit counts using different methods. no matter how much we develop it, it's still just a project. still, i've always loved ideas like this, so i'm supporting it.

I think there is also conflicts with some other userscripts I use, because I can't see anything related with Bitcointalk quality score after installing it. Refreshing browser pages and disabling other userscripts didn't work for me, but I didn't identify what exact userscript is not compatible with your. Maybe I need to fully erase history and test it again in different browser.

Because Bitlist blocks IPs if it thinks they are bots, so install the script, then go to a user's profile page (if you go to your own, you have to click on summary) and then open Bitlist, which will whitelist your IP. Go back to your profile and you will see your score appear. Unfortunately, for the script to work, it needs to find your user ID in the URL, but if you click on your profile, strangely, the URL does not have a user ID. However, if you click on your username from within a thread, strangely, the URL does have a user ID. I need to find a different way to find the user ID on the profile page.

I need to find a different way to find the user ID on the profile page.
Unfortunately, I had to adopt a few protective measures to combat the attacks we were getting on BitList. I’m already working on the official API and I’ll probably release some useful endpoints next week. About the user id, you can grab it from the “merit” link on the profile page. i.e https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=557798

The Merit page also has UserID in the URL. I'll fix the script today, thanks Tryninja! I'll wait for your new endpoints so I can try them out! I can't wait Another known issue: cc: dkbit98The script currently conflicts with bpip if you display the number of topic participations next to the post count on your profile page. I still need to fix this other issue, so if you want a "fair" score from the script, disable this bpip setting (you don't need to stop the entire extension).
