Possibly the greatest reason that Jesus will return when He does, isn't something that we have thought about much, or at all.
Jesus's won't return to stop all the killing. After all, death is a good thing. When God created the world, He saw that it all was good. Who would want to keep on living past the time when their body was in good enough shape to support life?
I mean, think of it. It's difficult enough wanting to live through some of the great traumas of life, as it is. Think of the people who were vaporized in Hiroshima or Nagasaki, with the advent of the atom bomb. Would they want to remain alive in their atomized state? So, death at the right time is a good thing. And God is holding the souls of all dead people, anyway.
Possibly the greatest reason for the return of Jesus is the believing little children. Many of these kids have heard in church or Sunday School, the words of Jesus where He said, "Ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you," etc.,. And they believe it.
At the same time, these children watch superheroes on TV or computer or cellphone. They imagine themselves being like the superhero. They even ask God for the ability to be like the superheroes. And they have faith in God. "Unless you become like little children, you will not enter into the kingdom of God."
So, what do you get when you have thousands or millions of little children asking God for superhero abilities, things that are not generally built into the way this universe operates? You get Jesus's return, to make these things that the faithful, little children are asking for.
