You make me go back a whole lot of years in time, 2000 or 2001 when I first was told that I can bet on a team and Juventus vs Real Madrid were playing in Champions League so I did bet on Real Madrid because I was a fan of them while all my friends told me to not do so as the odd was 3.5 and they were playing outside their home stadium. They were right as the game ended 3-1 or something along those lines and I lose my first bet. Next week again I placed now a bet on Juventus and told also by my friends no because they were playing in Santiago Bernabeu and rarely a team wins there. They were right again and this is how my sport betting story starts with 2 loses upfront.

My first bet, if we are talking about sports betting was years ago. During that time, the only method is to bet against your office mate or a friendly bet with your neighbor. Then when crypto base became famous, then that's where I started to bet on NBA.

Gambling at high school is kind of different but you are right, we students gambled among ourselves, we use football to gamble as we donate money for ourselves to play against the opponent. Also we use other things to gamble, but I noticed none among us that I know was using gambling sites, most of us at the time are 17 years old or below, by the time we get to 18, we were already in university or other tertiary schools or preparing to get admission. Many among us were still below 18 when they get admission into tertiary school.

About smoking which is off topic to this discussion, you are definitely right, all my friends that are smoking today started at highschool.

Interesting story, that is, thanks for sharing! How did I start gambling? Long long time ago there was a site called Primedice and their faucet was quite big, 1,000 sats, if I remember correctly. I registered, claimed the faucet and bet all of it on "above 50.00". I didn't even know at the time that tons of other options were possible, I thought it's either above or below 50.00 on the 0.00 to 99.99 scale. I got involved in gambling when a friend of mine won one million naira way back in high school, when he came to me and told me he has won I was surprised and I asked him how much did you stake on the game that you won one million naira, and he told me that it was 200 naira that alone motivated me and I started asking for codes from him because as at that time I don't know how to book games nor analyze it via team performances and all that.

I often bet on teams I don't like, but I no longer bet on teams that don't have a balanced performance, for example I no longer bet on Inter than in a multiple bet where I had guessed ALL the results and only for a match that also had a low odds and therefore Inter's SURE victory, that day against Cagliari he lost (which happened several years ago) since that day I have not bet anymore.
