I was this naive too, it took me a while to realize odds given reflect the team's likelihood to win or lose (I am slow learner, to the extent of being stupid), and money isn't going to fall from trees. As for my gambling beginning story, I have shared it several times, I ain't going to repeat again.

Interesting... In my country (Italy) It was already well known gambling in football but with a different format
One requires to gamble on matches that would score more goals
Another One requires to Guess the exact outcomes of 13 outcomes (in Italy old people says "I had to make 13 at totocalcio" to justify the Need of huge amount of Money).
This of course was very well accepted and I guess no one has ever noticed if under age play this type of gambling.
Probably the interest on sports gambling starts from here. The more It comes with recent bookmakers (p2p gambling with Betfair) and relative softwares (geektoy).

The high rate of gambling culture in the youth is a sign that there is a change in social values that we should be highly aware of. I have observed that simple access to the internet has caused adolescents to struggle with being able to identify what is good as a healthy activity and what is bad as a speculation that can ruin their lives financially. We should have a healthy competitive edge that is unfilled with the ambivalence of a chase of money. Inculcation of proper financial reasoning will make the difference between weakening future generations to plunge in economical disasters that are likely to be fatal.

My first experience was a physical betting platform, and I was influenced by a couple of friends I saw making a bit of profits back then. The first bet I played was a success and it gave me a bit of hope for more wins but that was only short-lived.

After that, I tried virtual betting which I didn't actually like but then returned to sports betting and i still play that till this moment. But betting on unpopular games was not really my style, I prefer betting on big teams who have better consistency and can deliver on any situation.

Here in my country, football isn't very popular, unlike basketball and volleyball, which are common choices for betting.
My advice isn't to bet if you don't know the teams in the competition per match, you should know each team’s strengths and weaknesses, so you can better predict the odds and who might win.

Sports betting is interesting and it gives you excitement in every upcoming match.

I'm not sure if this counts but I think most of us here are gambling since we were young, we have in our country a card game where in you are going to toss it to the air and if the card of your enemy is facing up, he wins and if your card is the one facing up, then you win.

There's also a time where having a spider is a bit popular and spider sellers were selling it outside the school and students will let the spider fight in a single stick and whoever lose, will be the food for the enemy's spider.

Going back in high school, most of the boys do play Dota 1, and all the players who have the same level as me created a small leagues where in the participant team will collect small fee and put it in the pot and whichever team wins or defeat all, will get the reward. (More like a playoffs)

I think this kind of things adds up on what most people including me today, however in gambling I don't usually spend much I'm more after the competitiveness and even if I am not participating in the match, I'm rooting for the team I place bet on.

I won the first time I tried betting, you won, and some other people can agree they also won on their first try. Regardless, we still have people who did not win on their first try, and I also have colleagues who met the same fate. It is kind of weird why the result for all of us is different but what is common here is that, those who won in their first try kept on gambling till date.

Your story is not far from what connects most gamblers into gambling which is the interest to make money from it. If you didn't see the potential winning, you wouldn't have been interested to try too. Likewise me, I saw some people winning and I decided to try winning too but I now realize that the winning is not steady and those already there won't tell you the exact truth and how much they are losing but you only see their winning because they let the public see that part most times, especially those low stakers. They want you to see how they were able to use small money to win big.

During gambling I do my analysis about the two team playing and whatever results I have that is what I bets on, for instance they must not be my favorite club or team but when I noticed that the other team is superior above the other team then I wouldn't mind giving them winning because I know they would win the other team. But sometimes if things doesn't happen to work the way one could plan then the opposite happens. Meaning; sometimes I do counter bet because I wouldn't want to entirely lose my money so funny things do happen with sports betting nowadays.

I do bet on teams that I’m neutral neither like or dislike since I don’t care if they win or lose. I’m relying on pure stats when it comes to betting on this type of matches.

Interesting start, but if I may ask, did you start gambling because of the entertainment or you start gambling because you want to also make profits just like your friends that are expecting something from gamble?
If you are gambling because you want to make money just like your friend that is excited because he's expecting a return, then you are getting the whole things cooked because sorry to say this that gamble will not give you what you are expecting, mostly when you put all your trust or hope into it. Do it for the fun and if you are lucky to win then you can be excited.
As for when I started gambling, I can't remember properly because it's been long, if I remember I will not hesitate to share.

Mine happened 20 years ago, and it's not online; it's a color game at a fiesta, and I have a good winning streak. Things are different when you are new to gambling and experience a winning streak; it feels like you can make a living from it. This illusion will only stop when the hard truth slaps you with losses.
Not because you have a good winning streak, but because you have a Midas touch in gambling, this is the delusion people feel when they start winning in gambling. I have overcome this, but it comes after years of realization.

I gambled because I promoted one here in the forum.

No friends, no interaction outside of the forum whatsoever. Before I promoted a gambling website, I wasn't gambling online at all. Heck, I don't even know that a thing like that exists during that time then I saw some gambling websites starting to get promoted here. I tried to join to a signature campaign, and luckily got accepted. I got curious, and since during that time, the weekly money that I'm getting through signature campaigns is being paid on our own gambling account, I tried to gamble a portion of that money, and that's the start of the never-ending cycle of gambling already.

I don't want to share my gambling story outside of online gambling because it will take me an hour to type it here but nevertheless, I don't feel any regret that I learned online gambling because it makes me excited especially when I'm watching some sports games.

I was with one of my guy in the early days of University, I saw him fondling with an app in his phone and his emotion was changing as the minute go by, sometimes he will be smiling other times he will keep a serious face, then I asked what was happening to him, he said I’m trying to make money from this App, then I asked which app was that, he then introduced me to it. That was how he introduced me to betting, I got really interested in it because the first time I predicted and stake my first fund it came out as predicted and I thought it was that easy until I started losing frequently that was when I realized it all about luck. You know that money is at stake in gambling, meaning that winning can make us fulfill our lust and losing is certainly a bad thing that we are facing.
So, in the gambling arena each has its own story and stories which perhaps if expressed here wouldn't be enough for one page to write, so whatever type of bet we bet on, stay on track, don't overdo it, it's gambling, you can't hope for 100% success.
