I can't remember the first bet I ever made in my life, but it was probably on cricket, probably on a match between India and New Zealand. Unfortunately, I lost my first bet. I have seen this movie a thousand times, and I have lived enough of it to tell you that you are full of it.  You are asking for "starting stories" because you are looking for someone to tell you that being hooked for years is just part of the game.  Its not.

It is pointless to ask for "beginner stories" to make yourself feel comfortable with the habit you have developed.  Its not a boys club, and you dont get a badge of honour for being part of it.  All you are is another victim of a "stupidity tax" that you paid because you wanted to be in that group.

I didn't start gambling with a casino but within friends and class mates. I could remember when we were in JSS3, some of my friends would be at the back of the toilet rolling dice with their snacks money. I  discovered this was when I took my sick friend to the toilet. I heard footsteps are voices which got my attention, I turned round as saw my classmates with others gambling.

Sometimes, during break I go to them to observe more about the game. Later, I joined them but I do that once in a while. That was the beginning of my gambling life.

I should believe that I have same experience with you on how my gambling life started. My story is the opposite... I've always really liked football, long before sports betting I followed Brazilian national tournaments and European ones, collected stickers of the world champions from every tournament, talked a lot about it with friends, followed the season's signings, team lineups, coaching changes, and everything else.

Similarly, I already knew about the gambling market, but I was never much of a gambler... I knew it was a waste of money and I did not end up having the fun I wanted. I myself do gambling because I see my friends who are betting, yes the case is not much different as you experienced. I think maybe there are many people who do gambling because at first they see friends around them who are betting and we are unconsciously interested in trying to do it, this makes us familiar with gambling as well as familiar with gambling and on an ongoing basis there are those who are addicted and those who are not addicted. Of course anybody can even bet on the club they don't fans just for the money. Thenbof course I'm excluding my family buying Christmas lottery tickets to check on the family table because otherwise my first gambling experience was when I was 5. But it wasn't my own money or accord.

Sometimes what we think is unknown is known to others but good thing OP clarified it. Also as he said, the potential profit betting on under dogs are high. So this makes others interested on betting at them. The excitement is levelled up knowing that they are under dogs or we don't know what they are capable with. If only about winning often, then bettors must be picking the known teams.

The topic is about our beginning in gambling, so it should be fine even if the money we used is not ours. Our family really can influence us to play at an early stage because we can see them often. But some family are sensitive or more responsible, where they play away from the youngsters.

Threads with this same concept have appeared here alot of times over the years, and I can remember I've shared how I got into gambling on this forum more than a dozen times, but anyways, I get we have newbies joining this forum every day, so in reality, every discussion brought up is sure new to someone right? Yeah..😁

A friends win is what got me into gambling, before then, I used to hate both gambling and gamblers cus they appear to me as irresponsible set of people.
I became friends with some one who gambles but I did not know he gambles until months later, long story short, he won a good amount of money from playing slot, this is when my perception of gambling began to change, it started appealing to me to give it a try, I gave gambling a try once, twice and that was how I started gambling eventually.

I can't remember the year I started gambling, and if you ask me I don't know how it happened. It was as if I just woke up and just see myself gambling Because I have no idea how it all started, but I must say that the beginning was cool and fun but as time goes by, I just feel that a lot of things has changed as I was no longer gambling for the fun of it, but for the profit.
