It will be a good plan if you maintain an emergency fund of a minimum of 3 months of cash expenses. You can have it in cash at home or in the bank. If the bank charges you, you can consider it a cost like insurance. You have to have that minimum money for security, not to invest. Putting everything you have, and even more so if you don't have much, in Bitcoin, has its risks, such as needing money when there is a big market downturn.

Basically if you agree to the terms and conditions of creating the bank account and using it for savings..you should expect some deduction from the bank especially at the end of the year, everything has a price and for sure if you could have kept or rather invest your savings in bitcoin you could have full control over your savings but we learn everything from our mistakes and from other people’s mistakes but don’t forget Bitcoin is volatile so be ready for it.

What would be your plans for keeping fiat, honestly speaking for me keeping money in the bank or somewhere whatever safe would be a very huge mistake to me, no matter how long you keep fiat, it doesn’t add value, which is the main reason what I can’t keep fiat, because value wouldn’t be added to it, and come to think of it things have really not been good with me keeping fiat where ever I have been keeping some money.

Saying that you do keep your savings in a bank is something a newbie should do and not you because this has been said in the forum times without number that fiat depreciates in value overtime and bitcoin increases in value therefore, you should put your savings into bitcoin because it's an asset that gives you full control over your funds. No one can touch your bitcoin in your self custody wallet.

Well, you don't want to keep any balance at all? I guess still all the charges will be deducted once you make a deposit so these are inevitable as long as you have that bank account, close it or these charges will keep piling up until it's deducted. Keeping a lump sum is never a good idea and even if bank deducts nothing still the value loss happens due to inflation and keeping money idle is a crime, you can just invest something very basic to get something if you don't want to take the risks.

It’s so annoying to see all those unnecessary charges when you save your money in bank. Sometimes you will be charged for card maintenance even if you don’t make use of the ATM. It’s really annoying the way banks are charging us, but if I will be honest with you we can’t do without bank. You can’t invest money which you will be using within short period of time, you still have to leave those money in bank.

The money which you are suppose to invest is the money which you won’t be using within a short period of time. If you invest money which you will be using for your daily activities, then you will have to be selling your bitcoin frequently, and sometimes you might be selling at loss, because bitcoin price might be down when you want to sell.

Fiat should only be kept in the bank for bake up plans and also for use on expectation needs. Back up plans could be when you are keeping for emergency or just for a specific thing that you want to do with it, but if you are saving money in the bank because you want to make profit from it, it's no longer profitable, the fiat money doesn't retain the value which it had in the past 30 to 60, now that inflation has skyrocketed and devaluation is hitting hard on some local fiat currency like our own currency for example, the value is very poor and I have never taken on the idea to save in the bank but prefer to put my money where it can return high profit.

The charges from the banks can be frustrating. The government will keep seeking ways to tax the people through these bank charges.  That is why keeping a large sum of money in fiat is not a financially sound decision. It is better to keep only the money that you want to use for your needs or emergency funds in fiat. The inflation rate is higher than the profits from bank savings and fixed deposit accounts, so what's the need for leaving money in fiat if you don't have an urgent need for it? Bitcoin has been known as a hedge against fiat currency devaluation.

Yeah, Banks control too much, talking of limits, charges, questions, and sometimes even freezing your own money, they do it a lot over here..  You save your money, yet you still pay for it..  it does not make sense to me at all..
But for Bitcoin it is different because you actually own it.. you don’t need middleman or permission and unnecessary fees..  Once you understand how to manage it yourself, your money is really yours. Still, I do not think it has to be Bitcoin or bank. Banks are useful for daily spending, but Bitcoin makes more space for longterm savings. I feel the problem is trusting banks with everything.

Well, that's how every business works and someone who holds more money in a bank account is a high value customer so they don't want to lose them no matter what that is why they offer the extra perks that is no available of a regular account holder but yeah it comes only when we have an X amount that varies from one to another bank.

However keeping a large amount of a bank account makes no sense unless it's business account and there will be regular cash inflow and outflow apart from that keeping money is still profitable for the bank because they use that money to lend on others and make even more interest than what they are paying us.

If you were from my country, you would have know what inflation can do to fiat and you will never ask this type of question. Yes, thats how banks do it.  As a broke student, you were viewed as a risk and therefore they would charge you fees because there was no place for you to go and the $200 on your account wasnt worth the cost of printing your statement on paper.  But now that you have gained a profit from trading, you have become the "product".  All of the 'free sweets' and managers who provide VIP service to you are actually just a means of keeping you.  They are not giving you free shit because they like you.  They are doing it because your large balance allows them to lend out ten times that amount to other people at fat interest.

So, yeah!  Enjoy the sweets, but remember: the only reason they are treating you like a partner is because they are scared you will realize you dont actually need them anymore.

This is much for one account with just a month, this is more than $9 they collected from you as a charge, how would someone have courage to still save in the bank when all this charges is what they would face whether they withdraw money or not, in my country Vat charge are there but no bank in the country would deduct much from the person, and when our ATM card expires bank will only forward a message of reminder for you to come over but they cannot make any deduction without your request on the card and even when the person collected it is going to be only one time charge that's not much

Of what use is keeping your savings in Bitcoin when you will spend them within a short period of time, beside price fluctuates which automatically means the value per coin will depreciate before the original need for that coin arises. It's best to withdraw all savings and hold them as paper money instead to avoid all bank charges. I always like keeping money in cash and not in the bank. I don't even have a bank account. So, it's either cash or Bitcoin. Nothing more.

The problem is the way you will buy Bitcoin when you prefer cash. It will go through different steps before you can make it a currency that is available to buy Bitcoin. Most of the time, there are no applications that directly buy Bitcoin with fiat money. You will need to convert it to stablecoins first. Honestly, it's a hassle.

Luckily, there is now a local digital cash application here in our country where we can buy Bitcoin directly. It's not available before, but it has levelled up and added cryptocurrencies to its features. I guess you should find something like that in the local businesses, so you can avoid keeping your money in the bank.
