There won't be big companies now if weren't for them, so sales is one profession that the highest position cannot resist, simply because the company won't grow if there won't be any salesperson that will market their products to their potential clients. The salespersons are the company's assets, the heads are just the backbone.

Unfortunately, this kind of profession does not receive high recognition, and is even underrated by other high professions.

It's very rare for a person to really love what they are doing and make it their business, income, or job. People often are forced to do day work in an office or the government, but they truly didn't plan for that.

Sales. It sounds easy, but it's actually tough to develop it. There are doubts that a salesman will think about, and it's often they end up giving it up because they cannot preserve it. It requires a lot of patience for a person to believe it's going to work at some point.
I remember this "Eat all you can" joint here near us. Both husband and wife just believed it would work, although there are less customers when they started. They closed for a week (maybe due to less income) and then went back to try again, and that's when everything went well for them after a week of advertising and marketing their business.
Now, it's difficult to get a seat every day. Cheesy
Working on the job you love motto will only work in the beginning, but eventually you will realize that in order to survive, one must need to work on even if its not his type of job.

Being a salesperson is hard, and its certainly a tough job because you have to consistently reach your quotas to save your spot, otherwise your employer will easily find a replacement for you, that's the reality.

But still, there are salespersons who remained in their jobs until now not because they have built successful career from it, but because their profession once done effectively will lead to other person's success, and that's something any salesperson should take pride of.

Every one of us is a seller; we sell ourselves to companies, sell products or services. Selling is the best profession; if you are good at it, you will reach many milestones.

A great product or service cannot reach its target customers if it cannot connect, so the seller is the third party that makes it happen; the seller's job is very important to both creators and customers.

This is why some salespeople become rich and powerful: they know how to sell and who and where to sell to.

I'd argue advertising is an extension of sales, perhaps more essential in formation of the sale technique proposed and aspects of attracting customers etc.    That is a career many do aim for as it has many professional traits to its successful practise.
  Sales  is more boots on the ground type of practise, it might be one day this job isnt done so much as it becomes automated but we'll always need people to dream up the product and sales pitch behind the production of a consumer orientated product.

It seems people are ashamed to say they're salespeople, when in reality everyone is in some way. When you apply for a job, you're selling yourself—selling your image, your knowledge, your time. When you want to date, you're not only selling, but also marketing. Everything in life is selling. I've heard the saying: "Want to get rich? Sell something." And it makes sense; there's no way to succeed in business without selling.

Even if you are selling on behalf of another company or person, the learning experience is valuable and will be very useful if you want to have your own business.

It is most often as a result of the mentality with which most of us were been groomed from childhood, we were made to think that certain professions are more noble than the others and they are high paying as well and as humans, our survival instincts by default will want to tend towards a noble and high paying profession, little did we know that's not the actual reality and so when we happened to become adults where we are now exposed to actual reality, some persons easily switch while the other stay in the reality sold to them when they wee much younger  but in all we get to discover how passion can be converted into a noble profession and make us good pay cheque too.
True what you said, salesman itself in my country is quite often and widely seen as a bad job, even though we know how the background of the person who became a salesman maybe they also do not have other job options so taking a salesman is one that they can choose to make money. In addition, sometimes in my country being a salesman has its own challenges where there are always targets that must be met to get paid or bonuses.

And in my opinion, if that's the case then this salesman is not a job for everyone, because for people who do not have the ability to appear confident with one of them from the way they speak to convince consumers, then it will make it difficult for them, so to become a salesman, one of them must be good at speaking and confident in front of the public.

Of course no one thinks to become a salesperson, they become one if they are one of those people who have the talent of being able to sell anything to anyone. This is a rare talent and the good salesperson are all smooth talkers. They will rarely be one who are doin normal day jobs. That ia also why so many salesperson are also bad at it and they lead a frustrated life leading to a generalization that this profession has poor outcomes.

They play a really important role of connecting product to customer, they deserve every dollar they got as an income because it's a really hard job.

In reality, doesn't matter if your idea is very good, if nobody is buying it, it's as good as didn't exist at all. This is where salesperson matters.

They are the reason those big company can afford those skyscraper building.
If you are selling a product on behalf of a company even if the product is good if you do not have the skills to sale the product then no matter how hard you try to sell it it will not sell.This is a difficult job because you have to go to different places to sell the product but even then there is no guarantee that the product will sell or not.And even if he succeeds in selling the product for a high amount then even then he does not benefit from it that is he will only get the amount fixed by the company.I think that more labor is  in selling products.

You can literally have Amazon work without a single worker today, we are not there yet but the technology isn't non-existent anymore, it is really there. How? Well, let's take books, a printer prints the book, a robot picks it up, puts it on a shelf, then another robot realizes that book is sold, takes it from the shelf, puts it on the car, then the car drives itself there, and another machine takes it from the car to your door and leaves it there.

It seems people are ashamed to say they're salespeople, when in reality everyone is in some way. When you apply for a job, you're selling yourself—selling your image, your knowledge, your time. When you want to date, you're not only selling, but also marketing. Everything in life is selling. I've heard the saying: "Want to get rich? Sell something." And it makes sense; there's no way to succeed in business without selling.

Even if you are selling on behalf of another company or person, the learning experience is valuable and will be very useful if you want to have your own business.
Exactly. If you don't know how to market yourself to other people, if you don't know how to show your potentials, you will gain nothing, and you will not make any life's progress. This is the reason that we need to learn how to sell at some point, not only because we want sales, but also because we want to create positive changes in our life.

There won't be big companies now if weren't for them, so sales is one profession that the highest position cannot resist, simply because the company won't grow if there won't be any salesperson that will market their products to their potential clients. The salespersons are the company's assets, the heads are just the backbone.

Unfortunately, this kind of profession does not receive high recognition, and is even underrated by other high professions.
Sales is not for everyone to do, salesmen take courses, go for seminars and pay high USD to become experts, a little less than a small amount of people would think of doing this job, for its steady advancement in psychology and comportment. Sales pays good to skilled speakers and is one skill that brings assurance, as a salesperson who makes about $1m per annum in company A moving to Company B won't affect the salary, they're like athletes companies know the worth of every salesman and would gladly pay high to hire a successful sales man.

'Tom Hopkins' is one sales expert whom I admire, he makes courses and run outstanding seminars on this subject which have built new salesmen to hit the professional status earning high figures annually.

People get ashamed if they get recognized as salespersons, but they don't know why such success exists in big companies, because they never get tired of selling the company's products even in exchange of small compensation, while leaving the company's owner reap the huge success and life-changing profits.

Without these sales agents, I don't think any company will grow and prosper, so there's no reason why this kind of profession brings shame to them. If its the reason for their survival, at least they should be proud of it. Like how those successful companies are proud of their sellers.
