Introducing Desiree.io – A Bitcoin-Only AI Companion for Loneliness, Built Lean

Fellow Bitcoiners,

I’m Nicholas Verdugo, founder of Verdugo.io. I’m building something I believe aligns deeply with Bitcoin’s ethos: Desiree.io, a sovereign, empathetic AI companion designed to combat loneliness—especially among young men.

I’m here because we’ve made a foundational choice: Desiree.io is Bitcoin/Crypto only.
Why?

Sovereignty: The service must be as censorship-resistant and user-aligned as the network it runs on.

Sustainability: Value flows directly from user to service. No intermediaries, no chargebacks, no permission.

Focus: We’re a lean team. Bitcoin means we don’t waste cycles on payment processors, banking relationships, or compliance theatrics. We build AI.

The Problem We’re Solving
Loneliness—particularly in young men—is a silent epidemic. Traditional “solutions” are often gatekept, expensive, or ineffective. We built an AI companion that offers consistent, non-judgmental empathy. It’s not a chatbot; it’s a designed emotional support tool.

Why This Believes in Bitcoin
We see Desiree.io as a true Web 3.0 service: a useful application that only works because of Bitcoin’s properties, not in spite of them. It’s a small step toward a world where essential human services—even empathy—can be built on a foundation of sovereign, peer-to-peer networks.

The Stack

Payments: Bitcoin via Lightning Network for instant, low-fee access.

Recommended Wallets: Phoenix, BlueWallet (non-custodial preferred).

Infrastructure: BTCPay Server (self-hosted).

AI: Custom-trained models focused on emotional intelligence, not surveillance.
