I just got this mail now regarding the Probit exchange leaving the market due to regulatory issues. What they have been battling underground that led them into deciding to shut down is what I don't know, but anyone who still has funds with them as a result of open orders should try to get them out.

We are writing to formally notify you that due to the rapidly evolving regulatory environment, ProBit Global will be officially terminating all services.

Please be assured that your assets are safe. However, to prevent potential financial loss, please review the summary below and take immediate action.


Service Termination Summary
Affected Services: Spot Trading, Deposits, and Mobile App access will be permanently disabled effective January 28th, 2026, 00:00 UTC.
Action Required: You must sell non-withdrawable assets before January 28th, 2026, 00:00 UTC and withdraw all funds to an external wallet immediately.
Critical Deadline: The Standard Withdrawal Service remains open only until February 25th, 2026, 23:59 UTC.

Consequences of Inaction

If withdrawals are not completed by the deadline (February 25th, 2026, 23:59 UTC), the following measures will be enforced:
Asset Conversion: Remaining marketable assets will be automatically converted into USDT.
Non-Marketable Assets: Assets lacking external liquidity will NOT be converted and may become unrecoverable.
Administrative Fees: Monthly management fees will be deducted from the balance starting March 1st, 2026, 00:00 UTC.
Permanent Loss: Remaining assets after the final closure will be deemed abandoned and become permanently lost.

Yet another crypto exchange has closed, not due to competition, but rather regulation. I believe this is a better course of action for users in general, rather than upholding the decentralized principles of crypto, which have been impossible to reconcile with the principles of control and censorship from the outset.

Though people should never keep funds in an exchange for a long time, the time given for traders to act is still very slim. If someone does not use the exchange for at least a month due to different issues, then it's game over for them.

And what is with the administrative fee? If they are officially ceasing operations, then why charge a fee? Seems like a way of trying to legitimize a heist.
