Nicknames For All The Different Types of Gamblers- Thoughts?

I've noticed that there are many different types of gamblers. So I had this fun idea.

You know how in school there were clicks with cool nicknames, well I feel as if we should have that here in the forum for all the different types of gamblers.

Like the Poker players could be the "Pokes" slot machine players could be called "slotters" , black jacks could be called BJs haahhahahha jk that one will need some work jajajjajajajaj. old sports would be a fitting name for the sports betting group, etc etc.

But you get my idea? I feel like there could be a really unique naming conventions going on here for all the different types of gamblers and nicknames might be kind of fun. Especially when referring to amongst eachother in our postings.

Or maybe this is just a terribly stupid idea and I just need to stop lol. Let me know!

Here's my quick idea for this.
Slot players = Crankers (cranking that slot machine)
Roulette players = Spinners ('cause well, some of those things spin)
Blackjack players = Jackets (for no specific reason?)
Dice players = 6 siders ('cause a dice has 6 sides?) or Rollers (roll the dice)
Pokers = Yeah, Pokes is a good choice for this one.
Sports Bettors = Managers?
E-Sports Bettors = Keyboards

I like this so that there will be an easy distinction about the word gamblers to know what game they are playing but the problem here is a what nickname we can all have agree to use it.

Same when the term hodl in terms of hold was popularized on crypto community through the use repeatedly on post.

Here's my quick idea for this.
Blackjack players = Jackets (for no specific reason?)

I preferred Jackers as a blackjack player. 

Let’s just add  “er” on the last name of the game? It’s easier to memorize and distinguish. Then change a little bit of spelling to include pun like slotters to slutters.

When it comes to poker, there are specific terms that have already been coined. A reg is a regular player who is not a professional but makes money in the long run, even though they don't make a living from it. A bad reg also plays regularly, has some skill but not enough, and is a long-term loser. A fish is a recreational player who showers the tables with money. A whale would be the same but with a lot of money and playing even more anarchically than the fish. A TAG is a tight aggressive regular player, just as a LAG is a loose aggressive regular player. A rock is a guy who only plays very good hands. And I don't know if I'm leaving any out.

Lol that's one of the crazy ideas that hits the brain once in a blue moon however but it's just one fun thing we can introduce ourselves to base on the fact that we all in the forum will be the only people using such nicknames to refer to someone, so it's unique idea too but however, since it's something not serious we can coin the words on our own and maybe there we can use it but apart from that not sure the idea will be welcomed.

Here in my country, billiard tables are everywhere, especially in small restaurants, so people end up calling the guys who play billiards "little balls," and the guys who play billiards don't like that name. When they hear it, they immediately start fighting with the person who called them "little balls." This is because that word in my country is also used when some people are provoking gay people.

Honestly, I think they shouldn't use those kinds of words against people who just want to have fun playing billiards, but people in my country seem to enjoy provoking the guys who play billiards.

I "slotters" sound wierd in my ears ....because being slotful already means one who is lazy and slotters sounds more like that than an adjective to describe slot players. I dunno but that is just me. I know other people may feel differently about it.

I would give them a nickname of "tols". This is slot spelt from behind. Sounds cool to be. Others may differ but that is fine.

I actually like the idea of using different nicknames to refer different kind of gamblers here in the forum. Though, I think it would be difficult to reach a concensus on which names are more appropiate and funnier for all of us to use.

As it stands, I like these ones:

Black jack: Jacks or Jackers
Slots : Crankers / Sloties
Sport betting: Managers
Dices: 6 Siders
Plinko: Bouncers
Crash: Pilots

It would be awesome if all of us reached some concensus and started to use those nicknames here in the forum .

Is it really important to give them nicknames?? I don't even care. I just have to understand that in whatever they do, they're enjoying the ride and the consequences involved. I've seen a couple of Nicknames and I'm just as confused, maybe because I have no interest in poker and slot games

Every other name resonates with their activities, except this one. What, you suggest managers? Because it takes a little longer to see results, so they feel more entitled to the winnings (especially if it has happened twice in a row)? They feel like they control the game? adding "er" just a common nicknames we found, not unique anymore, we know "gamblers, gamers, bikers, etc", i think from here we can call them with the new one and unique.
just like Slots Players its a common to call them as Slotters, of course it will easy to remember as you said, but for poker players maybe need new nickname just like "bluff" because not just because they have a good card on hand, poker player can bluffing his opponents with raise the bet.

I am the person who suffered bullying at school because these nicknames, so I ca not say I totally liked the idea so much, LoL
But, it is only the joke, ok!!!! I think we can suggest something too.

- For players of slot machine we could use the term spinners or "tols"... which is the opposite of "slot"
- For blackjack players.... I like "Jackeers" too, that sounds really cool.
- And for sports bettors, it is more hard to think of something.... but I suggest "Sweaters" because every bettor of that type is sweating until the last minute

I do not think that it is a stupid idea, I think the joke is fun and we just need brave people to start the joke... before we know it we'll be talking about it as if it were something normal. What we ca not do is use words that could denigrate any type of bettor, that would look bad.

I think it could be achieved over time with a proper voting poll. It really would be cool to reach a consensus on this kind of designation and it would definitely be fun to refer to all the different types of gamblers by the associated nicknames. Just a random thought I had and my names were not great ill admit but honestly its for the community to decide. I just like the thought of it.

i’m sure there are already nicknames for each one within the community but there is actually a popular movie called ROUNDERS starring Matt damon who is a talented poker player so there might be some association of poker players to the name rounders

and well lotto players being SCRATCHERS because of scratchcards

I'm a slot player so maybe "bonus hunter"?

I mean every slot players know that they want to hit that bonus, and so for me, we can call them as bonus hunters, Lol. And amongst our friends, we have someone which we call, "Mr. All-in", because when he played like baccarat or black jack, he is that kind of person who do YOLO, so after just a couple of games, it's going to be a make or break for him as he will go all in or nothing.

The gambling industry has been around for a long time, including all the types of gambling games you mentioned. If the gambling community needed one, nicknames for each type of gambling would have been invented (and used) long ago.

But what about those who enjoy two or more types of gambling?

Honestly I disagree, everyone seems to have their own nicknames so we might as well have something stick here. And when im reading all of this shit the first thing I want to know is what type of gamblers I am dealing with here lmao. The truth is that nick names actually have been used since the very beginning they've just not been popularized by everyone in a group or forum like this before... until now! Now we have the chance to put an identity behind this whether everyone likes it or not. At least it would be easy to identity and better in understanding circumstances/ outcomes and provide a heck of a lot of context to make comprehensive posts easier to understand/identify and cut through all the bullshit.

slotters, pretty cool sounding haha. I myself like to do gambling with the type of slot so if this nickname is thrown at me then I don't mind after all I consider it nothing more than a joke not an insult, but in my environment even though many people do slot gambling often this does not happen, even though sometimes I tease with the aim of joking at friends by saying “the slotters” they don't get angry because they know that it's just a joke.

It's a great idea, though it's not everyone that's going to take is so serious. I will mention two of the popular alternative names of the different types of gamblers which I have seen from different search I made before.

Sports bettors >>>> Handicapper or Punter
Crash player >>>>>> Clutz

The forum is visited by users from all over the world (from all continents). 🙋 This means that people with different mentalities, different senses of humor, and different English vocabularies live here.

I think many nicknames for different types of players will be perceived differently by users from different countries. Although I really liked the idea! In my opinion, any specialized community should have its own specialized language (slang).

For some reason, the nickname "little balls" reminds me of certain physiological characteristics of the male body (maybe I'm just so perverted that I have such strange associations). In any case, I wouldn't take such a nickname as a compliment. So it doesn't surprise me that billiard players don't like being called that. 🙂 I myself sometimes enjoy playing billiards.
