Nicknames For All The Different Types of Gamblers- Thoughts?

It's a great idea, though it's not everyone that's going to take is so serious. I will mention two of the popular alternative names of the different types of gamblers which I have seen from different search I made before.

Sports bettors >>>> Handicapper or Punter
Crash player >>>>>> Clutz

Would you care to explain to me what does "clutz" is supposed to mean in the context of someone playing such a game like crash?
When I think of crash, the first thing which comes to my mind is someone steering/piloting a plane, so I would call crash players 'pilots".

I would think it would be even funnier or suitable to call crash players "kamikazes" instead of "pilots", due to the high chance of losing/crashing earlier than expected in those games.

I actually like the idea of using different nicknames to refer different kind of gamblers here in the forum. Though, I think it would be difficult to reach a concensus on which names are more appropiate and funnier for all of us to use.

As it stands, I like these ones:

Black jack: Jacks or Jackers
Slots : Crankers / Sloties
Sport betting: Managers
Dices: 6 Siders
Plinko: Bouncers
Crash: Pilots

It would be awesome if all of us reached some concensus and started to use those nicknames here in the forum .

I guess I belong to the managers with your careful listing of possible nicknames that could be adapted to suit different gambling activities. Still, more variations have to be created and passed around for a more official or formal poll and votes, to be decided on which stays and which leaves the set.

I have yet to get a good nickname for slot gamblers because the variations am seeing has more to do with making the name sound fetish or kind of a name used in more sexually tensed environment.

I have never though I would give nicknames to different type of gamblers, but I would call «money and time wasters» those who play slots. Either you have to play long to get a rare multiplier, or you will have to spend a lot of money to get a significant win. From my experience of offline poker, I definitely can make such category of gamblers: «I want to look cool even though I am here to drink and to lose quick». Maybe a DR as drunk rich can be the nickname. Because those people came to casino to show off that they have money.

I've noticed that there are many different types of gamblers. So I had this fun idea.

You know how in school there were clicks with cool nicknames, well I feel as if we should have that here in the forum for all the different types of gamblers.

Like the Poker players could be the "Pokes" slot machine players could be called "slotters" , black jacks could be called BJs haahhahahha jk that one will need some work jajajjajajajaj. old sports would be a fitting name for the sports betting group, etc etc.

But you get my idea? I feel like there could be a really unique naming conventions going on here for all the different types of gamblers and nicknames might be kind of fun. Especially when referring to amongst eachother in our postings.

Or maybe this is just a terribly stupid idea and I just need to stop lol. Let me know!

This is a fun initiative to add humor in the forum gambling discussion. But on the general scale of things, there is a high tendency not everybody will be able to comprehend these short phrases used in place of the actual words. Because this is a global community where people who wants to get first hand informations usually visit, and in a situation where they come across such words, they will be finding it abit difficult to understand what it means. So I think such phrase or words should be best used offline among your fellow gamblers, and not on an official forum like this, despite how we might want to integrate humor too. So that's my sincere suggestion.

That can be done within a thread but to use the nicknames for different sort of gamblers won't be possible because many poster will not even know the context of this when they will be reading the post.

Also there are many here who post in gambling section but maybe they aren't active gamblers and those who are gambling, they don't specialize gamble one thing. For example, I would like to do sports betting, plus also love to play crash games and other gambling games. What will you call me, an allrounder

It's good topic, I'll watching this thread for creativity purposes.

About atleast 10years ago, this concept was something interesting to me until I reached the age of maturity and responsibility. However, this may not be the same thing for some people, and any idea is welcome since it was introduced as an idea for moving things forward.
Having said that, in some gambling chat room especially the chat rooms of some online casinos, I believe some gamblers are already using the nicknames, especially the BJ you stated for black jacks

I always call a "spin" a "roll", so rollers could also be a nickname for them, right?

Oh that was so sarcastic. Did you come up with those names yourself or they are what is accompanied as the actually alternative names for the types of gambling games? So those that bets on sports should be called Sporters, Lol.

Really sound fun but does not make sense at all but I think it is cool since it is just some nicknames but I am sure only those crews that are aware of the other name will understand it when mande mentioned in the public since it is not acknowledged official.

But if you ask me, I can afford to crack my head remembering all that. I should be just fine to address all folk bettors as gamblers.

Based on definition, it could be used in different circumstances but in simple terms, it just mean someone that is prone to accident. Always prone to stumble and fall. A pilot can be careful not to crash but on the crash game, no matter how careful you are, you are going to crash, so I feel the reason why they used clutz to describe the players is because they are prone to crash.

Well, at least here in Venezuela, we don't have any specific names for people who gamble or bet in specific casino games or sports, we all all of them with the same noun "apostadores" / gamblers. Regardless whether they play casino games or go for sport betting.
It would seem to me that there is not much of a gambling culture here in this country, in the same manner there is a strong gambling culture in Nigeria.

Those are great terms. I really like them. They're inspired by elements of each game. The groupings are very fitting. However, as a slot and sports gambler, do I have any other special terms? I'm thinking of a term for gamblers who have three or more betting habits, such as betting on slots, sports, and poker. Help me think of one.

I don't think it's appropriate for e-sports. Is there another one?

That is very true. As long as there is no one being harmed on this method, that's fine. Because it is only nicknames. Anyone can assign a nickname to those kind of gamblers anyway. So for me, so long there's no one harmed in any way, they can do whatever they want to do. As well as if there's no disrespect, they can do whatever they want to do.
After all, for those known gamblers in specific areas, they actually already have gained their nicknames, right? So for me, it doesn't matter, whether they have a nickname or not.

We can call whatever we want and it could be fun to have our own terms so that our luck just stays with us but I never thought of it but I had seen people naming their favortie slot machines or dice while rolling with names it could be just general name or something personal like sexy baby, darling, or even say their wife name when they got hit big with a aprticular machine.

The "6 Siders" really sounds interesting. Even though all this your idea makes sense, I just like the 6 Siders; it sounds so relatable. ‎
It will make real sense if gamblers use nicknames while addressing games.  Without any harmful idea. It's called gambling slang. Especially for those shy gamblers, it will help gamblers to communicate with fellow gamblers without letting everyone know about it. ‎
But it will take long for gamblers to adjust to it, but I like your creativity.

Suitable for the sports bettors, the ones that dont do any research they just place the bet and

The true definition of "Hit and Hope" is going into something without research or a plan, its like
batting in baseball with a blindfold  . . . as an example!

Betlugad and alot goodness could be a fitting nickname for me if I just consider adding one to my name as a gambler, although we are in online here and alot will have to take place before we get those nick names to become popular in the end, like poker players his name have taken years even may some efforts to promote such nick names most at time's, those names may not even become popular in the end and you have to abandon it along the line.

When my friends, and I used to hang out, we had a diverse mix of gamblers, from slot players, card players (but mostly dominoes), sports bettors, and real-life event predictors. Well, we were actually quite unique in our gambling preferences, but I don't remember if we had any cool nicknames, because we were all so busy doing our own things that we didn't have time to think about them. So, I think some past events might serve as references for creating our own nicknames. I think slot players would be called "Slotters", while card players might be called "carders", but card players probably have specific nicknames based on the type of cards they play, so carders is the general term. Sports bettors might be called "Sporters," since they are likely part of the team they support, derived from the word "Supporters". Real-life event gamblers might be called "Event Predictors".

So far, that is all I can think of, maybe I will tell you again if there are any suitable, or cool nicknames for gamblers of their respective classes.
