It is quite unfortunate that we all leave in fear is our local societies today.
Crime, banditry, insurgency, rubery, kidnapping..... etc.has taken over our communities today.

The most fearful part is that, the Government agencies that are supposed to tackle these miscreants are not doing anything about the whole matter.

A 77  year old woman was unfortunate to enter one-chance taxi, she was robbed and pushed out  of the car while the car was on motion.she sustainable several injuries in fact she almost died.

Now these my questions.

* Will we continue to leave in fear?
*Will bad things continue to increase?
*When will all these things stop?
* Will there ever be peace in our society again?

Honestly, it saddens my heart to see politicians and leaders that were supposed to take responsibility for insecurity being the sponsorers of insecurity in the country and the worst part of this insurgency is that the government supply weapons and information to the bandits, and what do you expect when the Youths are jobless without having anything that will keep them busy so they easily get influenced by politicians and be used to commit crime and thuggery.

Nigerian will continue to live in perpetual fear if the insurgency and banditory is not tackled, now come to think of it the president of Nigeria sent troops to the Republic of Benin for rescue mission while his citizens are being kidnapped and killed on daily basis here, is that not irresponsibility on his path?, when he was supposed to give order and declare war on bandits in Nigeria, the issue of arm robbery, banditory, kidnapping will end the day the government begins to take responsibility and actions in tackling it than sponsoring it.

it is the number responsibility and supposed duty of our leaders to ensure they protect our lives and our properties and as a matter of what it is, the protection of lives and properties is the most fundamental part of their duties as our leaders but in reality what do we see, insecurity and fear everywhere. Somebody will come with a wicked offer of him cheating the public and they won’t say no to the person as far as their interest in chair. If our country must be good, there is no long talk, we just need to fix our security to live a stable life in the country

In my perspective I can see we are losing so many blood and nobody is saying anything about it which is making me curious about it seems like our leaders are just there, for there families they don’t care to look after the people who bring them up to where there are right now and if this can keep continue we will never have peace in our communities.

We are here complaining about insecurity still yet they don’t care to work on that, only what there after is the 2027 elections coming ahead, some of our politicians do know about this Kidnapping and banditry, now let look into this if our leaders can be quiet and pretend about knowing about it who are we to do something about it we can still loose many life’s because in any aspect or movements we take to bring it down he will keep failing down,
The people we are about to bring down will be informed about us coming to them and while we will directed to a wrong part where we will fall victim.
What I’m referring to right now if we can’t get support from the top which is our leaders our community will keep bleeding and things can be sort out.

The fear has grown to the extend that you have to look at the faces of everybody in the commercial bus before you can board the vehicle because if you enter a random bus you might meet people who would rob you off everything you have, with this situation of our country if I'm not traveling in private car I make sure I use a transport company because they're reliable and trusted of not doing anything to there passengers because before boarding it they would have the name of the driver and all the people in it. Actually the government has created a lot of work upon themselves because there is no specific place the insecurity is.

It is so unfortunate the situation we find ourselves in like this. Funny enough if you ask how leaders what they are thinking right now, i can bet 90% if not 100% are thinking about the next election and how to secure slots.

Imagine the situation getting so bad that foreign government had to enter Nigeria and deal with the threat directly. that just shows the Nigerians government know exactly how to end this suffering but perhaps as they benefit from it still, they are certainty not in a haste to fix it at all.

insecurity isn't  not only happening in Nigeria,it  is happening in every parts of the world. It is a global challenge which every country is facing but Nigeria case has become extreme. Insecurity in Nigeria has become so extreme and government of all levels must unite to fight it or else they may wake up one morning to find out that Nigeria is no more. The government should put a stop to all killings and apprehend killers of innocence. If the Nigeria can respond swiftly to the plight of Benin republic then they must accord same energy in combating terrorism in Nigeria with urgency.

There is a whole lot to do in achieving peace in Nigeria, we need to protect the citizens, and we can only do that, if we strengthen our already weak institutions. There are modern ways of building security architecture, we can copy from first world countries on how they did their own. Then if we want to sustain what we've built, we should go into massive industrialization so people could have jobs and get busy, that way crime rate will reduce too. But if we decide not to look into this things, we might continue struggling with this situations we have at hand.

* Will we continue to leave in fear?
As long as the government is not willing to tackle the situation, Yes

Quote
*Will bad things continue to increase?
With the corrupt politicians remaining in power, there's every possibility it will.

Quote
*When will all these things stop?
The politicians can answer better

Nigerian will continue to live in perpetual fear if the insurgency and banditory is not tackled, now come to think of it the president of Nigeria sent troops to the Republic of Benin for rescue mission while his citizens are being kidnapped and killed on daily basis here, is that not irresponsibility on his path?, when he was supposed to give order and declare war on bandits in Nigeria, the issue of arm robbery, banditory, kidnapping will end the day the government begins to take responsibility and actions in tackling it than sponsoring it.
The most devastating aspect of this story is that even when the government abandons a community and they mobilize to defend themselves against insurgents, the government sends military to destabilize their defenses, weaken their security and make them vulnerable to the insurgents again. We can reference on the case of Zidane who was sentenced to death for defending his community against banditry.

The points you raised are really of concern because it’s not just about what is happening currently but our scope should cover what will happen later in the future after now.

Firstly you asked, will we continue to leave in fear? the answer is yes if drastic decisions ain’t taken to change things, as long as they keep on paying terrorist in this country just expect continues insecurity, the reason is others will feel that once they can commit crime and get the attention of the government that they will be compensated as a way of restoring peace, that’s why you see advanced countries like the US don’t negotiate with terrorist. As long as our leaders on using it as a political tool to influence elections nothing will change. Once our government negotiate with this bandits you will see that other groups will emerge, hence for the interest of everyone the government should ensure they flush them out so it will serve as warning to any group that will want to emerge.

Secondly will bad things continue to increase? the answer is yes if no drastic decision is taken to cushion the effect of poverty, crime thrives more where there is lack of adequate education and increase in poverty, the truth is if you can take care of your immediate needs one won’t see the need for certain crimes, the touts our government refused to embrace and give proper education are mostly the once coming back to create so much unrest in the society.

Thirdly will all this things stop? the answer is when our government is ready to set aside politics and selfish interest, once we have a working system whereby qualified and competent people occupy certain positions things will naturally start changing, but as long as corruption is the order of the day there will be no change.

Lastly will there ever be peace in our society? The answer is yes, if we get it right from the foundation in our various niches things will definitely turn out for the best, once everyone knows that his/her decisions will one way or other affect the overall peace in the society and sticks to always standing on peace, truth and fairness everything will definitely change, let’s all ensure that we get it right at our circle, change is constant and transient.

Insecurity is a rising issue that everyone should be cautious of, in our country. Since the government can no longer protect us, it is in our duty to be careful, be mindful of the places we go, and the vehicles we enter. Our safety is in our hands, it wouldn't be wise if we take our safety for granted.   Our government won't save us all if we don't learn to save ourselves in how we move about

The loca government has failed to provide security after collecting security vote from the state government, they use the funds to buy properties and give some to police to guide their properties. That's how bad the system is now. The insecurity is mainly affected by the local people that have no access to police station. The bandits and kidnappers visit them often. Many people have left their original villages because of insecurity, bandits and kidnappers has taken over their land.

Since the government has failed in all ramifications, we have to protest ourselves by being security conscious, mind who you invite to your space and know your neighbors so when strangers enter your hood you will quick identify them. It's good you have the near by police station number on your phone Incase of emergency.
