I created this thread as a wake up call to some of the new folks in the system and to let them understand that not all that glitters are gold, their are countless  fraudsters all over the internet space looking for someone to take advantage on and if not Smart enough to notice and understand some of their dirty strategy you become their victim. I understand that many came on board just to make some quick cash to settle most of their unforeseen financial challenges but that shouldn't mean we should be more desperate about it to an extent of falling victim of such kind.

However, we should be more careful on strange Link that normally puff up in our systems,  perhaps we should avoid clicking on strange link to avoid falling victim. And second we should always use a well recognized and recommendable wallet in storing our asset to ensure proper safety of our asset. Lastly I noticed newbies are always after large offer, all those online huge offers and give away are all scam and it's better we know all this the better for us.

The thread is all about learning so any other knowledge that can be of help to us all is  also welcomed here .

Once you’re here and planning to invest, you really need to be aware of the different kinds of scams out there. Just being active on the forum, even if you’re mostly reading, already helps newbie investors learn what to avoid. The most common problems I see are phishing, love scams, and ponzi schemes. These are always around the corner, just waiting for their next victim.

It’s not just about knowing how to secure your assets, like avoiding phishing links. We also need to keep learning because the market keeps evolving. With stronger regulations coming in, scammers are also improving their techniques.

Truly, we may want something big and better of which we are all deserving to have them the way we wanted but in reality do we easily get what we want by the way they appear no that's cannot be in most cases because the more they look attractive to us the more deceiving they are and that is how this scammers come in to set a trap on many that will not be careful about what they offer.

Thank you, this advice is very helpful for us beginners so that we don't get caught in the same behavioral patterns of fraudsters who always promise big profits if we join and invest by entering their class.

So many Newbies won't be able to know this thing called fat offer, and it would be good to state  what fat offer really means for some of them to understand.
It simply means an offer that is hard to resist, it can be monetary or otherwise.
This is a bribe that can be given to a newbie to do what is illegal, and if the newbie does not have enough self control, he or she would be tempted to take such offer, which will be very bad and will make him get a red trust.

Your are correct OP, ordinarily, if you receive a message with link from a contact you have no idea about, first thing to do is to delete the message and block the contact straight up and nobody would blame or hold you responsible for anything because you did the right thing. Such act could cost one their details or data if care is not taken when handling such so it is best to delete such a message immediately. Don't chat with strangers who PM you with investment deals or whatever you call them, they are scammers in disguise looking for a pret to feed on. Be careful and do not fall victim for such.

I think I was a victim today but because I already know the strange I messed them up and wasted all their time, I was dealing with some things and got a message from someone making offers that unresistable and they ask me to click on a few like that I know the domain of the site is usually for scammers so they will be able to get your informations once you accept the pop link that shows up. that alone makes them have access to your email and other stuff so I just blocked them before they could explain what they want me to do.

In the first place, giving room for discussion and clicking on links that will be sent, is automatically giving oneself a chance to become a victim. Those messages are better left unread, if we aren't doing paid business or know each other formally, you don't owe me any advise or randomly wanting to teach me how to earn money, it's a well known scam method, i'm never falling for it.

When I was not too long in crypto is that I receive an offer though I didn't believe it as it is too good to be true when I asked someone if it's legit. Anyway, it's not just offers that you should be worried about but also clicking links especially from email and visiting websites through research even in typing the url because you may visiting the wrong site since there are also clone sites that looks like the real one to steal your seed phrase and emptied your wallet.

Newbies are mostly greedy and aggressive, that's why they can easily be tempted from those too good to be true offers from the scammers.

Just a reminder, if you want to make profits  and get rich in the process, do not take shortcuts as there's no shortcut to success, even in the forum. You have to do your due diligence so you can well understand the forum and utilize it based on its real purpose, not by breaking the rules so that you will easily achieve what you want from the forum.

Please do not see everywhere scammers...
It is no help for newbies to see scammers where no scammers are.
Do not see Newbies as little children.
Most of time here oldies (lol) have made more lost for newbies than scammers have.

I can say this because I have now long experience about scam accusation...
It seems you hate inovation...
I give you an example...a true exemple:
Each time I say I give you something for free...10 people or more  say :warning it is a scammer.

Quote
Total time logged in: 89 days, 11 hours and 46 minutes.

Believe me I have read much here...and I have read more people talking about wrong accusation than seen scammers.
Dear newbies beware above all about what you read here...

I created this thread as a wake up call to some of the new folks in the system and to let them understand that not all that glitters are gold, their are countless  fraudsters all over the internet space looking for someone to take advantage on and if not Smart enough to notice and understand some of their dirty strategy you become their victim.
Scammers are always distracting people with the attractive offers which they are always offering. If you are in crypto space you have to be so smart because if you are not you going to be scammed. When you notice that someone is offering you a attractive offer, then make sure you take your time to do more investigation about the offer because you are just likely going to be scammed if you don’t take your time to do more research.

Most scammers are always targeting newbies because they believe they are the ones still new to the space and they going to be so easy to scam so they always approach them with attractive offers, and since most newbies joining the space are always so desperate to make money here, they are always falling for offers like that.

If you are in crypto space, it’s better you learn not to trust anyone, if you meet anyone on social media don’t trust the person, no matter what the person says or who the person claims to be, don’t trust the person.

Talking about strange links pop ups, I do get upset whenever I'm redirected from one page to another because that page i was redirected to could be the scammers site and most times those site just have a way of delaying your time for no reason, anytime I get stuck, what comes to my mind is, they might probably start sending virus or sharing your screen, and due to this mindset  i barely click links that I'm unfamiliar with especially when its a spam on my email or a random ads link that popped up during my use of a particular service online. We should learn to be security conscious and try as much as possible to put in place all security measures in other to reduce your chances of being scammed.

Sometimes it's not that they're not aware of all those necessary required knowledges because sometimes, even some old folks think they're are due to to higher risks even when stage one is already is quite uneasy to pass.
The high heavy risks bearing doesn't guarantee at all even those who spent times making research and analysing the market all days and nights and still will rely on luck to invest in a reliable coin of you're interests is based on the  hypes of the project.
The crypto market isn't advisable for beginners to make decisions without being properly guided.

You have a point with something you stated, but you also seem not to guide the newbie on the right path based on what you stated about the huge offer and giveaway.
What you mean by a huge offer was not explained, and I also don't understand it because the last time i checked, there's a lot of opportunity on this forum based on the area you participate in.
About the giveaway, if it is something that is hosted on this forum, i dont think there's a need for the cause of alarm since this forum doesn't support scams.

Lastly I noticed newbies are always after large offer, all those online huge offers and give away are all scam and it's better we know all this the better for us.
If it too good to be true then it is a scam. This is one of my favourite sayings. And very much application everywhere as it is in the crypto world. Secondly, when in doubt the take a break, a pause, ask questions, sleep on it for some days . There is no once in a lifetime offer. If it comes with time-bound or pressures, leave it. Scammers use the psychological trick of "the fear of missing out", to lure victims. They know if people are given some time to think about the offer, they will eventually see through the lies. Lastly, there is no secret or new tricks in the crypto world. All the scams and tricks have already been done. Anyone that looks new is just being reinvented so learn to do your own research before you accept any offer whatsoever.

Anything that appears too good to be true is a scam. We should get that into our heads, and it will all guide our way out.

Secondly, we should question whatever we see online and whoever we just meet online. The cheapest kind of way to steal from someone who has overcome greed is to build trust with them and use their own weakness against them this has been one of the easier and popular Roman's scam means which we have all over the internet and should not always be exempted each time such wake up awareness thread bump up.

The forum has always reminded us to stay away from all those types of scamming. But the problem is, if you are not also doing your own research, you will never be aware what are the latest trends of scamming these days, and that will make you fall easily and be their next victim.

As much as we need to keep enhancing and growing in the forum, the scammers as well won't allow to be left behind. They will also do their part to keep developing new strategies that will continuously increase their profits from their victims.

Scammers do not win and succeed if they won't make impossible offers, so they will do everything to deceive someone especially those who are hungry for instant money. And newbies are the perfect targets because they are less knowledgeable and less experience in the market, so they can easily fall as their next victims.

But there are also newbies who are now smarter and wiser in dealing with the market, in dealing with bitcoin. It just proves that not all newbies could easily fall to the hands of scammers, and that they are more clever than them.

Biggest challenge of staying safe in crypto today is that cheats are using more smart ways such as Pig Butchering to create fake feeling of trust and computer made fakes to trick people with too good to be true giveaways. Your advice not to use unknown links is very important as one button press can set up shadow permission that allows hacker to take out money without using your password.
In order to stay secure, you need to use two sided way, that is, hold small amounts in easy to use online wallets to use every day and move your savings to offline wallets out of reach to hackers. Also, be sure to ignore any fast high money offers, stay away from paid search engine result sites offering digital money, and with help of tools such as Revoke.cash, stop dangerous permissions that you might have given by accident.
