The quick answer is just a No.

I mean, you dont really take some kind of advice from someone that is not achieving what they are preaching, right? If you want to ask someone how to be a billion of course, it would just make sense to ask a billionair,e not just some addicted gambling guy who doesn't have money. The billionaire guy is the guy who can give you a good answer on how to be, right?. If I'm going to take advice from, for sure it is from someone who I see is going hard on these things, what are his experiences, etc., I know that his someone who has already won a bunch of times and has a lot of experience when it comes to gambling, someone who loses a lot and wins a lot.

When I take advice from somebody, I usually dont take it as a whole thing i would probably going to process it a lot and then actually do the good things that he said that I think is useful, and then do the rest that I think is useful, so its a combination of what I think and what it said to me, I remove the things that I dont like or something, then try to do it, if im proven wrong then I would easily accept that.

They are everywhere, seriously some of them don't have the mind to gamble but will advise you on sure games they can not play. How they do teach you and guide you. They see game they are not sure. They know how to make noise and with harmful effect. Some times at gambling centre, on the street and business centre. Especially on draws games.

There are tons of people like that; there is no shortage of "experts" at giving advice or opinions on things, but they themselves ca not control their own lives, so they prefer to give their opinions on other people's lives.

This is one of the main reason that why I do not accept being influenced by other opinion of peoples. I make my own bets and never let anyone tell me what I should bet on or how much. I accept personal opinions, such as suggestions or guesses about a particular outcome, when the person wants to talk to me without commitment. Sometimes it is not even to bet on A or B but to discuss some aspect of the game in general. I find this type of opinion constructive... but apart from that I am the one who decides my bets and you should do the same... do not let yourself be influenced by others, especially people who ca not control their own lives.

Sure, up to a certain extent you have to consider the person. But I'd look more into the advice—analyze it, does it make sense? TBH, if you've been in the space long enough, chances are you'd know a sound advice when you see one. For instance, I did saw someone sharing how he takes regular breaks from gambling and time each of his gambling sesh. That's something I can get behind to.

In all fairness, if you listen to the advice of addicted gamblers, I'm sure you'll get a lesson or two. And it isn't just a lesson learned from anybody without experience. It's a precious lesson coming from somebody who's been there, done that. So, yeah, I might take advice from them.

What I would take with a pinch of salt are tips and signals coming from somebody who hasn't really made a good profit from gambling. If you really have all these good analyses and strategies and information and whatnot, you should be the first to have made money.

We must be aware that no one can consistently win in gambling. They can offer any advice, and there's no need to reject it harshly. But if the advice tends to lean towards something irrational, it's better to ignore it.

Nah, probably I will listen, but deep inside I won't follow those advices as obviously, they themselves might not be following their set of rules. This is like someone telling you to stop drinking and yet they do.

I guess those are that kind of people who feel they are entitled to advise anyone. I have this kind of old lady in our neighborhood that advises anyone, and yet when you look at her story in life, it's like what you think you are. So there was a time that I can't control my emotions and despite her a senior age than mine, I started to answer back to her that she can't even tell that to his niece (to stop smoking). And after that, I don't to her anymore even if I will see her many times after that.

So I could apply that lessons even in people who are telling others to stop gambling but they themselves have the same problem.

Yup- I would consider their advice and take it into heart.

We all have our respective experiences when it comes to certain activities and memories. Even if that gambler did not experience a huge win, they still have that valuable experience that only them could share because they were there.

Remember, all the things that we learn also came from those painful experience; not just on the glory of winning. That is the reason on why their advice, regardless if they won on their games or not, are still valuable and worth consideration for me.

You are definitely right. Again, even if they do not experience winning on their end, they still have that invaluable experience that a person would learn from.

The only qualifier here is that I would only take advice from someone who has ACTUAL experience on gambling; and not on someone who read books about gambling but they do not have any prior experience on such act.

I will accepts their advices no matter if they are difficult to control themselves. They advice us because they don't wants to see us getting the same thing as them. They just want to tell that gambling have its risks so we need to be careful.

It is not wrong just to listen to their advice although we don't use it for ourselves. But if you don't want to listens to them, you can say sorry and leaves them. You can hopes they will not feels anything because we leave them.

Just let them be on what are the words they are saying as long you do know that you are basically doing just fine. There are indeed those people who are that pretending that they are just fine and then you would be that seeing them that they are that also gambling addicts or someone who are spending up that much in gambling. Its better to ignore them rather than on trying to shut them down because there's nothing you can get it from it. There are those individuals who are just that good on giving out advises but they do failed on making themselves doing the things that they are spouting out. In personal way then it would be better that you should be that sticking into your own gambling control and moderation because what matter most on here is that you wont be putting up yourself on financial difficulties just because of gambling too much.

Taking advise from other people might sound very basic and keeps on repetitive but actually there are still those people who are legitimately non addict but it turned out those advises were generic ones or has been that mentioned all over again and again.

It's ok to hear some advice, but it's different if you are going to implement it. There are good methods, whether they come from fools or experts; some gamblers got their methods from experts and are sharing them.
So it's ok to review all this advice, but it's your decision whether to implement it. I experienced it myself. I was given a number by a guy who did not know how to bet, but it turned out to be the right number, so take advice at your own risk

I'll take any advice regardless who give the advice as long as it is positive one. In more specific case, advice from addicted gamblers might be useful for us because they may advise us based on their experiences as long as the point of the advice is positive like that we should avoid something so we wont turn into something bad as what he/she did. Some time the best advice may come from someone who are in bad situation.

Surely it depends. If the first person gives me pointers that makes me win but he himself loses, then I will follow his pointers or prediction since it favours me. But if it doesn't favour me, there is no need to follow his advice.

Secondly if the other second person is advising me about the risk associated to Gambling but he is addicted and can't stop, I guess it's not a bad idea or advice, because even pastors preach that " do as I say but don't do as I do" this means you can still learn something from someone who is addicted and stop your lifestyle without following his footsteps. I think the most prefable will be this option. Because he is not misleading you, he is telling you the right thing and doing the wrong thing. But that should not bother you since he has not misleaded you. It is your choice to either follow the advice or follow the footsteps.

You cant take the advice unless you know and trust these people personally. There are a lot of scammers out there and trust should never be given. Only earned. That is one word of advice that I will always stand by no matter what. People will try to screw you over all the time, false friends are apparent everywhere. Be careful who you trust!!!

Actually, I don't care if the one giving advice applied it to himself or not as long as the advice is useful. After all, it's on you on how you are going to use that advice and applied it to yourself. If it's advice, I would gladly take it and thank them but if they trying to point out my wrongdoings in gambling or possibly telling me it's wrong, etc. but they are doing it too and they are terrible in gambling, then that's not an advice but rather hypocrisy but for people giving good advice but wasn't managed to apply themselves is not that bad at all, maybe they failed to do it themselves but it doesn't mean that you can't do it.

After all, it's a free advice as long as it's useful for me, why not?
