I can’t say I’d really take advice from a player who can’t win themselves, but I would definitely listen to what they have to say and then decide for myself what’s best to do. I generally like hearing different points of view from different people.

As for giving advice, I’m not a big fan of it and only do it when someone clearly has no idea how sports betting works. I can explain how to place bets, but I’ll never tell someone which teams to bet on. Because if it loses, the person you gave advice to will end up blaming you for it.

The point is that everyone can give advice but not everyone listens to it, just like everyone's advice should not be ignored. However, I think that if he has more experience than you, of course you can listen to his advice. Whether you accept it or not is entirely your personal matter. Everyone is a teacher as long as what they convey is positive for self-development. Even though they often talk about responsible gambling but they are not actually responsible, there is no harm in listening to what they say, they have experienced it firsthand & want to share as many stories as they can. There are no limits as long as it is educational, regardless of whether the person delivering it is good or bad.

For someone struggling with addiction or some problems but advising based on such problem I think they are the best people to take advise from because experience is the best teach but it doesn't have to teach you instead you can learn from them that has made mistakes but that is the real strength they have, they can even get better or stop after teaching you, so taking advice from such people is good in my opinion. Someone who has never experienced it will advise you based on their fears or learns taking from someone's mistakes but someone who made the mistake will express themselves more to you than anyone else would ever do.

But when people who have gone through addiction or difficult times themselves talk it doesn't sound like book knowledge, it sounds real. They know where people are weakest and where it's most difficult to control themselves, In my opinion the advice of such people may not always have the perfect solution but there is honesty. They don't talk in a threatening way, they share their own experiences. And those experiences are often the most useful for others.

Of course that's true when people do survey and other research regarding addictions and all the things we have been reading online or in books regarding addiction all came as a result of an addict or someone who has gone through all this phases genuinely revealing what it looks like to be one and what are strong struggles in it and how to overcome them even though it's had for themselves to overcome it, they profer solution based on the fact that the people who needs it may not be as addicted as they are and so they, one of the best people to get knowledge from.

Anyone thinking they are "good" have obviously issues with not accepting the luck element of it. They are kind of people who blame of anything else then themselves being "bad" at it when they start to lose.

And it's unlikely that they would confess if they lost money, as that would drop their act of "being brilliant gambler". Or if they have to confess losses, they will blame bad luck for losses and their skills for wins.

Think it this way: What motive could someone say that they are good at gambling, other then their delusion where they do believe that? Without any public unmodified track record as a proof.

In general I would not even lose time getting advice from gamblers or bettors, because in my opinion is a very irresponsible thing to do as an adult.
We all are supposed to be responsible and accountable for our choices, so we have to act accordingly for our best interest and allowing someone to take decisions over our money is something which get us accustomed not to take responsibility when we lose money on betting markets. If what they are saying is actually true, then it's not a bad idea to take their advice depending if it's a helpful one but when the advice is  harmful instead of service a good course, you don't have any reason to take advice from such person. Since I am experienced in gambling already, I know the things that a non gambler will tell me and I will agree it's true, I also know things that I won't believe if told. So, it depends.

Do you that, what doesn't work for you might work for another person, so if all what he said doesn't work for him, it will eventually work for other people too and you might surprise by that but I have seen such things happening.

I would not take advice entirely to gamblers who can not walk their talk. Individuals who profess to be experts but they never win a contest or fight are likely to use tricks of confidence and relying on luck to persuade new entrants. The simple logic behind this is that someone who is appearing to teach how to make money is actually selling shit. Nobody will share their secret to make money without taking money first and even if they dont take it first, they will take upon reaching the climax of their discussion or somewhere later.

I'll take it. I am not selfish if it's about giving people a chance if the strategies they're telling me is good enough to try. But I am not going to do an all-in with what they're saying. So some test won't hurt my pocket and that's why if there will be tips that I think can help me win some games. Why not give it a try for a couple of dollars. When you understand gambling to be a game of probability you start to understand how most these betting pros and influencers are just scamming people. I mean if you are not the source of thier income (when you pay for master courses) why would they be sharing how to earn with you. Even from what you described, how can you take advice from someone who doesnt know how to win himself, that on its own is a red flag. Now you need to also understand that it is possible to hear nonsense and then just filter the sense and apply it to your life, but still you dont just apply straight into your life, you have to make sure it applies internally to the rule you set out for your self
