In my country to get a government job is man know man. If you know someone in the government office,  the person can recommend your name to be included in the shortlisted candidates or names for the job then another way people are getting job is through paying money to the officers in the office. The officers in charge of the employment would asked the applicants some amount of money to them so they would include their names in the list. And where you name has not been listed, there would be a problem. And that ha caused problem in the country. Going to school is good but don't think of working in government offices but if it comes, you can accept it. And if there is none, you use your knowledge to get legit work.

‎The job market is very saturated and it is  not easy for a graduate. Now we have many graduates who are using other means to survive. Some even became rich without using their certificates. I remembered when I first applied for a job , they required a 2-4 years experience in the field and I was shocked because I just graduated. What I will say is that as a graduate you must learn to have a good skills attached with degree, so that Incase there no job, you can use your skills to feed yourself. That's just the best thing to do now.

It's the same here. Many people here are unemployed or have difficulty finding a job, even if they are a graduate. There are people who sometimes accept jobs even if the job is not related to their course, just so they can gain experience to make it easier for them to apply next time.

The solution I see is this: if you know for yourself that your course is difficult to find a job, develop skills or study other skills, that way you can get a job more easily anytime you need it.

There are also newly created jobs now that you can study, and not that many people know about them. The problem is that others don't want to explore other ways to make money; they prefer the guaranteed money right away. This world is all about learning. Even if you finish studying, you still need to continue studying other skills. That way, you won't be left behind once a new opportunity comes along.

Knowing someone big to get a job isn't only restricted to government offices. Even in the private sector, one has to have someone working in high positions to have a good salary paying job, with sometimes having to pay big amounts to secure the spot temporarily.

Although salaries isn't quite sufficient for expenses as the cost of living is getting higher in many cases, people have to work more than one source of income to be balanced and rich and people just have to get a job for self respect and the demand of respect from others, because even if you do a freelance job, people won't take you as serious as someone who does a 9-5 or 12 hours shift job.

I'm sure that the reason why it is like that in some places or countries is because of how corrupt the government system have been. If things is well organized 90% of the graduates will have a good job that they can earn money and have a better life as well. In some countries after graduation you already have a guarantee that you will get a job, but in other countries where the system of government is not good you will need do some maybe illegal things to make money or go through some hard process in other to work fir the government. In such circumstances you shouldn't depend on the government jobs anymore because it will be hard for you to get. Acquiring a skill will be better.

Nowadays, everyone has a diploma. To get hired, you need to stand out. You need good communication skills, and if you have a wide network, it's easier to find a job, you might even get a few letters of recommendation. Most importantly, you need to market yourself well for the job you're looking for. You'll have a lot of competitors, and staying one step ahead of them depends entirely on you.

And if you look at the present time, there are many people who are sitting at home with certificates but they do not have any job, they are sitting unemployed. The problem of unemployment is very serious, and the biggest problem is created when they do not have any other skills. They are not able to find a job through their certificates, which means if they do not find a job, then they cannot do anything, and at present, the number of jobs is very very less than the number of people who looking for jobs, that is why finding a job is undoubtedly very difficult, but if we do not find an alternative path, then our unemployment will never end. Jobs are not everything, we can create our own jobs, become entrepreneurs and businessmen, from these we will no longer be unemployed.

Main reason for this is that many people do graduate from colleges compared to past, which means that having a college degree isn't something special anymore. Our parents told us that having a degree would make it better for us to have a better job, because it was true when they were young, in 1980 if you had a college degree then you would have gotten a job easily, but in 2025 it is not that easy to do the same because everyone has it.

This means you can't find a job just because you finished school, expecting a job to be given to you just because you did 4 years of school doesn't really make sense neither. What you can do is make sure you are hireable even before you finish college, get part time jobs, find some extra curricular, even do internships, basically work your ass off before you graduate so you have something more than just a degree to show to a potential employer.

Getting a job is seemingly getting harder as more and more people are going through higher education, graduating and entering the job market. While a good number of job seekers enter the job market seeking employment, the number of people going into retirement are very little hence little vacancy in the job market for the every growing number of people seeking employment.
In developing nations where the unemployment rate is high, any vacancy is highly sought after hence the urgent need to stand out from the host of applicants seeking that same position. Your CV should stand out from the rest so the prospective employer would find it hard to ignore your application. Acquisition of relevant skills as well as refresher courses could help bring your application to the attention of a prospective employer.

That is just the point. The more people are going for education that is how job will be getting difficulty to get. If they have a way someone can be getting job I think everyone should have go through the way and start to focus on it so that they can get what they are looking for. That is the main reason why people forget about looking for a job they try to do business and invest so that they can get fast money and do what they need. In our country job is not easy to get that is why we more focus on investment and business or skill that can bring money to the table.

If you don't really have connections, you will always find it hard to get a job that can be paying you well and pays your bills. Getting job is hard but is good to be educated and start doing business anytime opportunity comes you can used your credentials and get but we shouldn't be depending on government jobs we should work hand and look for alternatives, so that if this one didn't work another one will possible works.

I noticed a lot of graduates finding it hard to find a job even after some time of graduation. They now have degrees but they can't seem to penetrate the workforce. Students who were able to get part-time jobs even while studying have a more well rounded CV.

Moreso the more people are graduating from one degree to the other , it's also a medium where the government and country go deeper to providing or creating job opportunities for this individuals, cause after a successful service to ones country like mine, what do you stand to get most times if not connections most individuals are forced to face the reality of life and that's how some end up as who they are in the society probably doing some rosf side jobs. And that's why one need to multitask grab a skill and become sef employed other than waiting to be employed and still be kicked out someday.

Educational system has become a huge ponzi scheme where those who managed to get a job spot consider themselves to be lucky, while selling the idea it will work for everyone who gets inserted on the same course and field of the market.

Universities delude students by calling them future professionals and making their eyes shine with promises of financial returns and stability. Once the graduation is over, only a few will be absorbed by the market, while everyone else will have to work on informality and autonomous side hustles.

The universities those students paid 4 or 5 years of subscription fees take no responsability for that, neither anyone else.

Meanwhile, professors ignore this fact, avoid questions or pretend it doesn't exist. Thinking critically about it, and I hope to not be unfair here, they are more or less like the referrers of ponzi schemes, since they are profiting through this unsustainable scheme...

I noticed a lot of graduates finding it hard to find a job even after some time of graduation. They now have degrees but they can't seem to penetrate the workforce. It is not just about what you finished. A bachelor's degree is simply a title to show that you have some adequate knowledge and to some extent training in that particular field but what most graduates lack is experience. Students who were able to get part-time jobs even while studying have a more well rounded CV. Even if the part-time job is not exactly aligned with what you studied, you can still highlight the skills that you can use for the job you are applying for.

An impressive and a well rounded resume will get you a job.

The entire workspace works when you actually have some sort of skills to offer or something of value that your employer would need, but a lot of the graduates in the work space actually fail to know this and then finds it really hard to get their self a job because when you have good skills or anything of value even like a service to render them your worth and value increase and also your chances at securing a job.

A well structured and detailed CV does have a role to play for you but it's not all.Especially in the freelancing niche, you need to position yourself that makes you visible to opportunities that you align to.Everybody needs a CV that stands out and irresistible.CV's are not only for 9 to 5,even those people with skills(digital/physical)needs a CV to get their specific jobs roles in their specialty. If your CV doesn't carry informations that showcases your academic journey, working experiences and various qualifications you'll likely remain unnoticed.

Both degrees and skill are important in getting a job. Many individuals are advised to acquire knowledge about a skill before gaining admission into the higher institution, the essence of that is to make money even as they’re studying their courses. When you gain a little insight about your desired profession, every would be made easy for you in the higher institution because you’ve been exposed a bit in that field.Unfortunately experienced workers tend to get jobs faster than novice who just finished graduation. So in other to be an experienced worker you need to gain knowledge in a skillful manner and also go after the degree.

How to get a job - first of all analyze job market. Dont study or plan to work in a sector that is already crowded with employees. When getting a degree, dont choose course that is easy to study and easy to get diploma. Focus on skills and experience are primary; knowledge is secondary. Dont ask for a huge salary from the start. Be realistic. Nobody needs a newbie that ask for thousands when he hasnt even proven himself at work.

I am a businessman myself and I hire employees for my business from time to time. When I select an employee there, I observe their CV very carefully and first of all I keep an eye on their skills and experience and if I feel that the type of work I do has those skills and experience, then I call him for an interview. And I want to know a clear answer from him that how he can meet my needs with his skills and experience. So to get a job you have to apply for such a company or posting on which you have very good skills and you will be able to convince the interviewer of your company that you can meet all his needs in a very professional way.

In a situation where graduations continue to increase and job opportunities are narrow which makes job opportunities more competitive now, the job market needs are increasing, adding to the burden that a graduate graduate must prepare for today, but if the job market is very wide open, of course it will be easier to work even with simple skills, but the world is not like that now because many types of jobs for humans have been automated by technological advances, competition for jobs is getting more difficult when things like this grow in this world, the skills that are needed now must be many to be accepted, it's not just about resumes to apply for jobs today.

Actually, you might be correct, but I think this depends on the country you are coming from, in the developed countries getting a job is not so difficult. Sometimes even as a student you can be studying and thesame time working.
In countries like Canada, United States of America etc, you see people traveling to these countries searching for greener pastures and when they travel to those places, they find it difficult to return to where they are coming from, because they have plenty of jobs to offer to people.

In the underdeveloped nations, getting good job most times is a thing of connection, sometimes even after passing an interview you still need someone in the position of authority to gain the job, and in such countries, you see graduates with first class and distinction but no job for them.

It's no longer possible, for a well-rounded resume to get one job without going through written and oral interviews before they can be employed by a firm. I have seen situations where someone was denied employment because they didn't pass the oral interviews after presenting good resumes and passing the written test.

Nowadays, a good resume can't get someone a job because it can be written by AI. All these company owners are looking for those who have skills and other things to offer, making them useful if they are to be employed

This is the advice some mentors use to give out to people that only depend on education, because time will come when some governments will make it compulsory to have skills before you can apply for higher institution. Those that depend on their certificate alone always find it difficult to over come the situation may come their way, because they don't have other means apart from the certificate. There are still some companies employing workers every night and day but they accept new workers base on what they can offer to the  company to make progress.

You can get a new Job by telling some companies that you can serve them for few months before they can confirm your employment, and you will find company that will accept, because they know that such confident employees are not common in the world .

Sincerely speaking, OP this is the least you should be taking about, I mean this is not the main issue that should be discussed, because you already know and understand how to system truly operates. In reality, securing a better job is often more about connections and networking than just qualifications or skills. If employment were based purely on skills and competence, then many graduates would already be well employed by now. But this situation shows otherwise. There are thousands of highly skilled and qualified graduates who are still struggling to secure a better jobs, not because they lack knowledge or ability, but because they do not have the right connections. This actually shows the major imbalance in the system, where merit is sometimes overshadowed by favouritism, social networks and nepotism. Skills and education are extremely important, they are not always enough on their own.
