His choice was very wrong. He could have chosen to keep his job because it guarantees him money every month, and he could also take the $3000 and stop gambling. He could invest the $3000 in a real-world business or keep it in the bank until he had a good business idea. But he chose the lesser path, and this decision could cause him great suffering, early depression, and suicide. I hope I'm wrong and that he finds a job soon.

It's stupid. You don't have a sustainable system that's independent and you are quitting your job? Just doesn't make much sense to me. He was driven by his excitement and though maybe this win opened some kind of door for him through gambling and now he's an expert. We have to know the amount he was earning at his place of work before he won the 3,000 USD because it's from what he was earning that has made him quit his job to start a business for himself and even though he was earning a reasonable amount of money monthly and if he did a good feasibility study on the kind of business he wants to set up and he has seen that it's profitable and he will make a lot of money from it then it's not a bad idea or a wrong decision he took instead of not investing the money and using it to rebet and at the end of the day he loses all in the process.

We should understand that it's all about mindset and proper planning and when starting a business it doesn't require a large amount of money, one can actually start a business with a small money. I think before he decides to quit he must have been earning a very small amount from the Job he was doing.

Depending on how much he was earning from the job and the nature of the job. There are jobs you will get in some countries that $3000 will be your salary in 3 - 4 years time. Let's assume the guy is working as a security man and he is being paid $100 as monthly salary. So imagine how many years he will work to save up $3000. So I don't blame the man for quitting his job, if only he will use the money to establish himself a business that will be generating him the same or more than the salary he has been getting on monthly basis. The decision will only look stupid if he wasted the money without investigating it.

Firstly, $3,000 is a very small sum. If this player had won $3,000,000, he could, of course, invest the money profitably and live off passive income for the rest of his life. But $3,000 is just an opportunity to go on vacation, see other countries. Nothing more... With such starting capital, in my opinion, it is impossible to completely change your life.

This is the most surprising story I've seen today, because how does one quit his job over an amount that would not last you the month? No matter the joy or adrenaline rush that comes with the win, it is still not a valid reason to quit a job that pays you monthly or weekly as the case may be, because the money might not come as it did all the time.

Maybe he has taken gambling as a job preference over his original job that requires his hard work and intellect to one that depends on luck. Now, he is back to looking for another job, how does that even sound? And I have the feeling that the amount he earns at his work place might be something very tangible for him to quit his job over $3000, but it does not make his decision a valid one.

I can't quit a job that I'm well paid unless I've finally gain a huge amount and sure that I will never be poor again.  He quit his just because of too much excitement for just $3k win, what if it was $300k? I will say that his winning the prize is bravery, and quitting his job is stupidity. Sure. It is a stupid decision that he quits the job after winning $3000 only. I don't understand why he should decide to quit his job? Even he stops playing gambling and can start a new business with $3000, it doesn't guarantee that it is enough to fulfill all his life necessities. Moreover if he has wife and children, $3000 can be spent in few days/weeks only. Well, he may be too happy, so he couldn't think realistically at that time.  

Is it easy to find a job in your country? In my country, it is quite difficult to find a job that can provide proper salary. If we already work in a proper place, we shouldn't easily decide to quite because there is no guarantee to get a new job easily. Even we have an idea to start our own business, we must ensure that we know well the business in detail. We must be aware that there are big challenges to start a business recently. I've tried it and I've failed 3 times.

This is true, here in my country that 3,000 USD can start up a business, not a smallone but a good micro business. That is a huge money that can start a new life. BUT.
Never leave your JOB as long as your business is not establish. If you will have a good business but all your needs will be deducted on your daily sales thats another stupidity.

You don't need to blame him, once level of knowledge determines the types of decision he or she makes. To him he strongly believes that 3000 dollars could lead him to financial stability without knowing money we see has its own way of changing things. Although for some people that knows how to manage finance and grow it, gaining  stability financially won't have been a difficult task for them because they would have known how to avoid unnecessary expenses but maintain there normal spendings until they achieve what they want

The first question that came to my mind was, '?' How much was he earning? If at the end of the year he can't even make up what he won in gambling, then quitting is not bad. Honestly, for the country I live in, $3,000 is a very good amount, but it's definitely not enough to guarantee a secure future even after quitting my job. Even if I won $30,000, I wouldn't quit my job or even my business. I know from married friends that they spend $1,500 a month, and even $2,000. So, that winnings would be enough for them for a month and a half. So what next?
I understand that in countries where the average salary is around $50 or less, but why not save that winnings, turn them into investments, and just keep going to work?

3000 USD has different meanings to different set of people.So unfortunate that he obviously choose the wrong path.A common mistakes here is that people are always  concerned about the instant satisfaction which  usually lasts for a short while.Experiencing such wins,does not signify long-term wins or lifetime financial freedom; long term stability is crucial.People really need to be sensitive and attentive after every win, because gambling wins intoxicates.

Or maybe his previous job have a toxic environment that’s why he quit after having an opportunity due to financial boost that can cover his salary for many months.

I will do the same if I’m on that situation and find for a better job since most people are just stuck on bad job because they have no choice due to financial difficulties but if we have opportunity to land on a good job I believe people go for the better job.

If latter, I would neither call it brave nor stupid, but I would say it was a good decision; job can be tiring/monotonous, and if that win allowed him to leave off job some time, it's good, no? He had a nice break, now he'll back refreshed, although he has to look for a new job.
