It is perfect example of how luck of gamblers can give wrong decisions, leaving job because of a $3,000 win is surely a lasting mistake based on a short term feeling. You are correct that 3,000 dollars are not life changing money in today money world it can only cover few months of bills, but average person who is looking to safely leave their job takes two years to save money.

I agree that he did not save money like seed that would be planted other he used it like fruit that would be eaten now, like you said. T me, he should have used it as emergency fund or as small business and stayed at his job. He should follows an Exit Plan checklist to track what money goals one has to reach before they can safely quit their job.

There could be a two instances right there. First is having a job while doing gambling at this rate he can still sustain is gambling hobby because he has a job for a source of income which is commonly like others doing. Second is quitting your job and become a full time gambler now in this case this must need to consider of the player if most his games are sustainable and the winrate accurancy because if it, and he does not have other source of income for sure he will regret leaving his job.

So for me I do recommend having a job than nothing. 3k$ is just a small amount you can drain for over a day or week but having a job can sustain your gambling.

I don't really blame the person whom quit his job because of the money he won in gambling, nowadays they don't pay well, but if your salary is tangible that much don't quit, you can add side hustle to it render than leaving, I know people set standard of how much they wish to be paid forgetting that our currency has no value, I could remember when I was working, I couldn't even save any money because the salary wasn't cool, I didn't just stopped, even when people told me to, I didn't, I continued, now I have made up my mind to look for another alternative before stopping the work.

I think the person used the money poorly so he went back to look for work, if he had used it well by, for example, doing business maybe he wouldn't be looking for work anymore.

Getting a big win at gambling and quitting your job is not a bad thing if you have a clear goal, but if you end up looking for a job again after the winning money runs out, then the decision to quit your job is a bad decision.

interesting story, I cannot believe that someone foolishly quit his job because of 3 thousand dollars, for an amount that can get exhausted in a matter of days.  like you said, he most likely quit his job due to adrenaline spikes or something because I can't explain why anyone in their right mind would do that. Maybe it is his first winning experience, with time he will adjust and be used to it

Of course, it should be his first big win if not, he should have known that the money isn't enough to take care of his responsibilities for long without investing it. It wouldn't be bad for one to have various streams of income but this particular gambler is short sighted for him to think that $3k will sustain for the rest of his life.

Should I say he's stupid or maybe he hasn't seen such amount of money throughout his life time because to the best of my knowledge $3k is huge but doesn't guarantee you a life changing opportunity, he would have been better for him to continue doing his thing while looking for a better way of investing in to something tangible with that money instead of quitting and later researching for a new job, perhaps his actions shows less of him.

However, if we are to find out deeper what really transpired you will realize may he might have continue gambling with the surpose money and possibly lossing it back to the casinos or whatever, that why most gamblers need to be constantly check least they behave abnormal.

Quitting your job for 3 thousand dollars is an incredibly stupid act of a complete jerk. And in any country, wherever he lives. It's not even about the amount (unless, of course, it's $3 or $30 million, but let's be realistic - millions rarely win), but that this is fundamentally the act of a moron. Maybe he was just overwhelm by the situation, sometimes it happens but once it kicks in we will realized that its just because of the moment that we made a decision its not bravery or stupidity sometimes we do things out of being excited or ecstatic, besides as long as we live the next day even if we resign we can still find a way to get money or have a job, life goes on and good luck to his new journey, if he is back and looking for a job he will find one for sure.

The year I made my first $1800 from crypto, I quit my job but I made a judicious use of the money, I wasn't a gambler then so there was no way to lose it to gambling.
What I did was start a small business which I allowed my wife to managed, then I used the part of the money remaining to purchase a new tricycle which I used to start a public transportation business, the tricycle helped me to be getting money every day for me and family daily expense, and also to be saving out something to invest back in the business my wife was managing so as to grow it into a big business.

This was what I did and I never had any course to return to job hurting anymore till today..
I know things have become a lot more expensive today but that dude is very stupid to be honest, with that money, even if he quits his job, he could have invested in a business that will be fetching him money every day, he wouldn't be looking for work now, but I guess he instead used most part of that money to gamble again and lost it, a very foolish thing to do.

Anyone who thinks that a winning streak would last forever or would always win in gambling is either naive, stupid or gone bananas. Thinking like that is stupid enough, let alone quitting one’s job to focus on gambling simply because you constantly hit a few thousands. That is what I thought also. If a person wasnt smart enough keep his job and quit after winning only 3k, easy money would make him return and gamble again. Searching for "cheapest country to live in" google showed me 3 countries Pakistan, Egypt and Butan and mention that a person need around 400 bucks per month to live comfortably. This means 3k will be enough for less than a year. In few months this guy will return to gambling and try to increase his balance. I am 100% sure in that.

If that $3,000 amount is worth at least 6 months of his salary, quitting the job is just the right thing to do, if he no longer enjoy how the company treated him. But, it is very stupid not to look for another job after he quit from the previous one. I mean, what exactly did he do after quitting? Just sitting around until all the winning amount is exhausted?
You said, he quit his job out of excitement, the question here is that, how long did the $3,000 lasts after it got emptied? Because if that amount is enough to sustain my needs in the next 15 years at the very least, I'd quit my job too. However, it's obviously not the case for this scenario.

What did he do with that $3k? Play again or start a business? If he played again, then he was stupid. But if he started a business and failed, then he was brave. $3k can start a business in a third-world country. Not a big one, but enough to start a small business. If he quit his job just because he thought he could win consistently, then he was stupid. We can't judge someone just by hearing a fragment of their story. They could be planning to start a business from their gambling winnings, and they see a potential for significant profits, or they might have to sacrifice their job to achieve their goal, and we never know how it will be. So, we shouldn't judge anyone before seeing the results. By the way, I have a cousin who had the courage to open a small business, with an estimated initial capital of around $1,000 to $1,500. Within about a year, he was able to purchase many expensive items, including a house and a car, even though he was previously just a servant. Essentially, everyone has their own vision and mission, they have the potential to see the future, and they believe in what they are going to do, which gives them the courage to pursue it.

I understand that emocoins can make us feel the need to spend and buy things, and that's fine, but you have to think that if you're lucky enough to have that money , it can multiply. The only way I see to do that is through investment , and investing in crypto, especially BTC, is really the best and easiest way for me to do it.

Plain stupidity if people don't think that it won't work for them and so the person in subject proved that it didn't worked. So, that tells a lot that people get too confident with the grands that they have won but never had plan on how they're going to prolong that winnings. The amount is quite low to quit to do the next thing he's got in plan and if that will be through sustaining his gambling activities, it's really not worth it and not going to be enough to do it. He's overwhelmed to quit the job but never had thought the effect of it if the money's gone.

Or maybe he was just working in a place where he seems not to have any choice but just to work, and the salary might be below $50 on a monthly basis, which makes him think $3000 is enough to cover up for all his bills even if he doesn't work again.

If he had sense before taking such a decision, he should have thought about what the money can do for him and what he stands to lose if he quits the job, but he was too focused on just the recent hit that came at once and might probably be thinking it will continue that way.

If it were you or I, we would definitely take that kind of action to use the money we win from gambling. Whatever the plan, whether it was for investment or not, we wouldn't quit our jobs just because we won $3,000. If I win more than $100,000, I wouldn't quit my job. I would definitely spend most of it on assets, not just enjoying it with my family.

Sorry, I meant to write "emotions." Of course, in that sense we're fine, If there isn't much experience regarding investments , I would choose to invest in Bitcoin without fear, because even if I bought it and the price of BTC went down, I know that at some point it will go up in price and much more than what I bought, and then I would have profits but it's difficult when you don't see it that way, but only to spend and buy things without considering that the money runs out.
