Storing the phrase on a piece of paper or chiseled on a metal plate is great, but the rule off thumb is to store such stuff on at least 3 media.
So I've built the third one - HaySeed - a Windows program to save the Phrase in encrypted with your own password PDF file.
It's better see it once than hear 100 times so you can get the trial version from my Google DropBox:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FUH6oooFJgToWG6v4bB_uNxZitIizGms&usp=drive_fsIf you want to see the generated by HaySeed PDFs, here they are (the PDF password is:
123
(you can define any other with all those
%, #, $, @... and have it up to 127 long for the peace of mind)):
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1rG01KNWCt1KzLvv807nKRBzJ1HRamJ-Q&usp=drive_fs(that is a phrase of 24 randomly picked standard seeds)
The demo works exactly as the full program. The only difference is - it stuffs some seeds randomly replacing them with ------
And if you finally decide to purchase it (no pressure) for a symbolic price of 19.95
BTC you can do it here:
https://www.clarionshop.com/secure/checkout.cfm?pid=1711&q=1And look, there is no BS here. It's a Clarion Windows program that doesn't store/send anything. That I can guarantee. Whatever you do stays with you. Your passwords stays in memory and disappears as soon as you close the program. After you are done with PDF(s), you can delete all seeds stored in an encrypted Clarion file on your PC next to the EXE. You can always recreate it. The program will help you to pick your seeds from the list while you are typing and will not let you insert non-existing seeds. You still have to be careful. There are some seeds like
keep & keen that is very easy to swap.
I'm a Clarion programmer of some 30 years, now retired, so I just doodle with it.
I still think it's not wise to store such PDFs on Clouds etc. But you can always stick them among other PDFs on a memory stick or CD and call it, say, recipes.PDF
So nobody will ever get to it.
Cheers
Alexander
P.S. If anyone is interested, it was a joke about 19.95
BTC It's $US
