Now, coming to my subject, we know that cryptocurrency is legal in the country but why are we still afraid of coming out boldly to say that we are into cryptocurrency when we are being interrogated by security agencies?
[/quote]

The reason why we not coming out boldly to say we are into cryptocurrency exchanges is very much, because in as much as Bitcoin has finally legalize in the country Nigeria,it is not enough for one to begin to announce it publicly that he or she is into cryptocurrency exchanges because of the security reasons, why because our country Nigeria is full of all sorts of evil things around us, knowing and unknownly and it has gotten to the extent that not everyone can publicly expose his or her source of income because we are no longer save in the country including our security personnels,no one is being trust in this country Nigeria....

Then coming to talk about those Nigerian who is already known that they are into cryptocurrency exchanges investment or trading, look some of this people are not residing in this country Nigeria and again some of them have made so much money that the government is or the security personnels are afraid of harassing them like they normally do to the minor people in this country Nigeria,so that is why you cannot compared those people to us who are just starting up life..

You are right, i just read that if a country places a ban on something they declared illegal and they confiscate those things and after which they lift the ban that it doesn't automatically mean that they will release those things to the owners. They still have the right to withhold them in their custody, and the government can claim ownership of them. So, we shouldn't be arguing that the federal government should unfreeze those bank accounts that they froze during the cryptocurrency ban before we can become satisfied with the new policies giving to cryptocurrency.
This is really a big problem you know that? The federal government have everything right to unfreeze the bank accounts they frozen when they place ban on cryptocurrency. Now they've uplift the ban and you expect what from them actually? I would urge the government to do uplift these bans because it's the citizens we're talking about here. They don't relent when there's big problem on ground..

We know from day one that cryptocurrency have been really a threat the fiat currency in the country and the government have plans to reduce crypto but was it good enough tho? I don't get it because crypto have been exceptionally no harm and keeping the balance of the trends in the market.

Cryptocurrency is legal in Nigeria which means you can buy, trade and invest in cryptocurrency so do we still need any more news to know the stance of the government on cryptocurrency?
Have gone through your link and have seen it all, even before now many dudes has been on the low doing their things ( crypto transactions) without any issues and I believe now that the government has now said it openly I believe it will encourage more investors to come in and invest. However we still need to be more careful about it because Nigerian government is very good in labeling the younger folks fruad in stuff's like this.
Nigerian government has never been known to be steady with its assertions, it has a history of victimizing citizens with history of financial dealing in crypto citing one regulatory shortcoming or the other. People have no confidence in the system and law enforcement agents can take advantage of innocent people and exploit them of their assets even while travelling under the cover of fighting crime.

Now, coming to my subject, we know that cryptocurrency is legal in the country but why are we still afraid of coming out boldly to say that we are into cryptocurrency when we are being interrogated by security agencies?
Simple, because you would end up being victimized, especially if you're an illiterate. Recently while travelling, the police subjected me to a special kind of searching and interrogation simply because they saw Binance app on my phone. They called me a fraudster too for being into crypto. I had to challenge them that crypto was legal in Nigeria and even showed them that my account was verified with my documents and correct details from the verification center of Binance which shows that I am not doing any illegal stuff there.

I would have been victimized if I was not knowledgeable and one of them was almost at the verge of handcuffing me in the whole buildup. The fact is that crypto enthusiasts are still being victimized by security agencies and I don't blame those who hide their identities. It is always not a pleasant experience.
