I think that is not a problem for bettors. If a match is inconclusive, what they do is to pause it, postpone it to a later date or give payout to games already won. So that is not a problem for those who bet on such game.

You didn't read what I said well maybe, because I was saying (if) a match is inconclusive....that it will be postponed and sometimes bettors get that match excluded from their game and get paid the rest winning. This is in response to the post from op, I responded to his concern and I have seen such happen, that a match becomes inclusive either because of weather or any other obstruction and the match couldn't continue.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned yet, so for those who haven't seen the latest news about this, I saw a TikTok video about it and looked for an article to read. Apparently, Morocco is planning on taking legal action over the outcome of the match. From what I understand, they are claiming that the Senegal team forfeited the match when they left the field for 14 minutes and then returned.

I am not familiar with AFCON rules, so I am curious, does the Moroccan team have a valid case here?

After that, the goalkeeper seemed to add fuel to the situation, and things got even more chaotic. Judging this situation with emotions, their actions were valid as humans, and giving the fact that it was a final made the situation a lot more compelling to act out of character. The referee in that match officiated badly and we all saw that, you don't expect no reaction from players in such scenario.

The coach asking players to leave the pitch was out of anger from consecutive ignored offences, which was  bad as a leader. In a normal game, it would have being overlooked as it's not a deciding match but in the case of a final, you don't officiate like that. I really did have to applaud Sadio Mane for his brave response to call back the player as they fought together to win the AFCON for the second time.

It was finals, so what do you really expect?  After watching the previous matches( the semi finals and third place), I expected something like this to happen...The occurrence at the Afcon Finals and it's previous matches show why gambler and football fans should always have the mentality that is open to any outcome whatsoever. You will think this guys paid Fifa some money to help them win the Afcon, they were the most disgraceful country that host Afcon and behave like this. Even Ivory coast that did the same thing they tried, their fans were respectful, other people that traveled over there were all saying things about their women and their culture, that's the beauty of football and unity of sport among Africa and the whole world entirely but Morocco decided to jeopardize their reputation for stupidity.

This was the same thing they did some years back when they won Portugal in the World cup, there was this little girl that was trolling Ronaldo that he is crying, he went that way and it went viral. The Ronaldo people that never liked him used that to troll him, many people saw it as bad albut I guess everyone is seeing the terrible thing they did back then. Like I said, they should make sure Morocco is banned and fine for the things they caused during the Afcon else we will see more of this behavior from other countries.

I don't agree with the OP. Of course that events such as the one reported are unfortunate, but I don't think people will stop watching the games for cases like these. Maybe a part of the target audience, with children for example, could end up having reasons to stop watching the games, but for the rest it is just part of the entertainment, even for those who suffer the most from this type of altercation (among other things, because they have money at stake or live it with too much passion).

But please, don't get me wrong: I appreciate the Jogo bonito in its sense more related to healthy sportsmanship as much as anyone else.

If your concern on this bothers more around the effect it could gwt on bettors then I would  say there are some more considerations bettors should put in place gambling, they should know and understand tat there is a lot of uncertainty that comes with gambling and this I suppose is one, you can not be too sure and your predictions will not stop the players from reacting the way they wish to, neither will it stop certain events of uncertainty from happening so always hope for the best but expect the worse.

This kind of behaviour being displayed by the players is already sending a wrong signal/message to football fans in Africa. If this behaviour continues and is considered normal, don't you think the game and the organisers will lose their integrity? Football is a means of entertainment, but it can change from mere entertainment to a more damaging situation if it is not well regulated and players and fans are allowed to act out of control.

I wish that discipline is taken seriously and proper sanctions given to those who deserve them. The viewers should not have any reason to doubt the genuineness of the sport.

Yes, it was a fantastic match! I think the great playwright Shakespeare would have loved this game (if he were alive today and a football fan). Because this match had as many dramatic twists and turns as Shakespeare's own plays. 🙋

The referee who first disallowed the goal against Morocco and then awarded the penalty is a classic dramatic villain. Such villains appear in all of Shakespeare's plays (but it was strange for me to see him refereeing on the football field). This man became the main driver of the match's plot. After all, he was the source of all the conflict.

Sadio Mane played the hero. He accomplished the seemingly impossible. He brought the Senegalese team back from the locker room to the pitch.

Brahim Diaz was also a hero, but a very unusual one. It was his actions that made this match so strange and simultaneously interesting. First, he fell in the penalty area in a very strange way (leading to the penalty).  And then, it seemed, he deliberately missed the Senegal goal. What a twist!💁

I agree, predicting the outcome of such matches is incredibly difficult. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this match.

There was too much drama in that final which is not something to be proud of. I think that CAF actually wanted Morocco the host to win the trophy because they have been the biggest financials of CAF in recent times. We saw Morocco receiving preferential treatment in many of their matches and Senegal knew that and were not ready to be robbed. Very serious nonsense. Leaving the pitch should mean cancellation of the match because appears to be a big disobedience to football match rules.
Seeing how some supporters behaved in the stadium is a fact that other supporters at home would do the same and loves what was happening.

OP you are talking about FIFA punishing those who don't comply with the rules of the game by trying to bring the game to disrepute but you too is sounding like CAF that's has deliberately closed their eyes to the cause of injustice. Because, from the look of things CAF and the Moroccan FA had a an agreement and this was clear from the start of the tournament and it became obvious in the finals. There were off the Field incidents that were systematically and deliberately not shown by the Camera. Videos are circulating about The Second choice bookkeeper been attacked by the ball boys all in the attention to take his towel it's really a shame that in a place were even the FIFA president were present these types of things can happen.


Everyone is talking about Senegal what will happen to Morocco and their FA, till today CAF has not come up with any stand on the conduct of Morocco if FIFA is to do any thing it should just extend just punishing Senegal. FIFA should investigate the role of CAF and the Moroccan FA in all this because it looks like CAF wanted to compensate Morocco for the way they have been hosting CAF tournaments.

This is not the first time we have seen chaos in a game of football. A similar thing happened in the AFCON when Pitso Mosimane was the coach of the Senegalese national team.

This os not the kind of chaos we used to see. Morocco waiting for the final that should never lose the match and I guess all the public was waiting for Morocco to win. Look at the odds. Let's say that Morocco wants to take the shot but Senegal was a strong team to compete with.
