It is quite unfortunate that today in our country, the elites that call themselves greedy politicians in our dear country have decided to remain in power forever thereby making very difficult for the youths to grow politically. In fact, you even need to have Abraham as a father before you can get any appointments talk more of elected position. Because of their selfishness and greed, they will never want see any youth grow politically rather they prefer the youths to remain their boy boy..
Despite all these bad treatments on the youths, during election it is still the same youths that will go and snatched bilot box for theses selfish and greedy people.A youth is ready to kill his fellow youth just because he wants to deliver his pay master instead of coming together to tackle these old men.
I just wish the youths could wake up.

Who told you that we are asleep, everything that is happening in this nation is something best known to us but who are you to challenge those people, these people are so powerful and they don't want to live power, if you could even observe they want to make it as an inheritance, check most of our leaders now you see that they are growing their children politically. Anyone you see occupying political seat now, check his background you will realize that if is grandfather is not among the first republic or is father definitely they most be a connection and that is what is still happening now.
I like all what you said but the youth you see today are used by Force, because if you stand up right now to fight like a Freedom fighter honestly you will suffer because these people will not allow you to do that and at the end you will put your life in danger.

The youths are still very powerful and can take a decision and it will come to pass, so far Nigeria is concern. During election the youths cast their vote mostly even though Nigeria's election is full of manipulation. It is true that this politicians have made themselves so powerful and influential through their wealth , they use the money they have to confuse some of the youths, it is the youths that carry out assassination for the politicians and most times they use these cult boys to carry out their evil missions.
What happened during the end SAS made me to know that the youths have what it takes to change situations in Nigeria if only they can speak in one voice, today there is no department call SAS. The youths are the strength of every nation and believe me , these old politicians can not succeed without the support of the youths.
One thing that is hindering the youths is this partisan politics, they youths are in thesame party with this old politicians where the old politicians uses their money and influence to control the youths and make them share thesame ideology with them. If possible, let the youths have their own political party and let every youth be fully in support of the party, then watch if this old politicians can scale through, and believe me, they will never scale through.

Well said. Speaking of youth political allegiance. We have the Nigeria Youth Democratic Party (NDYD) and other like parties. But aside taking a stand for one party , how are we so sure that the aspirants will do well. How many qualified and experienced politically driven youths do we have in the country? So that we won't put power in incapable hands. Let's not forget that we have so many young persons in one office or the other who are still underperforming as we speak. It will be more doom to place power into such hands. I think the problem with Nigeria government is not about the age of the leader nor about young or old . it's about the leader's personality and portfolio. How much worth of quality does he have to give? What will he / she do if elected into office? Will he place his own interest above the interest of the masses? Of course we are tired of our old men and we want power to change hands and it's good that we give our youths a Chance to rule this country , but who will bell the cat? Who will make the difference?

For Nigeria now the probability that youths will grow politically is not sure or certain as our old, corrupt, old fashioned, visionless, greedy and selfish leaders are not willing to give access for youth with visions to get into power because they know if such happens Nigeria will experience total transformation and liberation from there modern and civilised slave trade system we are now in Nigeria. Looking at the political structure in Nigeria now you will see that the same old politicians that kept Nigeria in this dustbin we are now are still the once fighting and battling for political offices and never give room for civilised and educated youths to get into power.

Don't blame the politicians, the youth are not ready for governance, they're not prepared, they are the problem not the leaders. Nigeria youths are still singing praises for old politicians that has eaten their future without remorse. Until the young people stop supporting old men because of money and support one vibrant youth for position, they will remain the way they are. Tinubu as a case study, Making young people are already endorsing him for second term even with his poor performance in the first tenure, so tell me how the youth will take over government with this low self esteem. Until we stop this hunger support and fight for our space in government, nothing good will come out of Nigeria for the Youth. The old men will never handover government to us on a plater of gold.

I agree with wetin you talk for here and nah this one dey close to home. Normally, the country dey corrupt which we all know but in a way, the youths too dey follow assist these old, greedy and selfish people to stay in power because if you gree to sell your vote or become an instrument of electoral malpractice, e go dey hard for them to perpetuate their Ill vices. The youths dey ready to rule, nah just fear for say them no go fit achieve anything if them start unto say person fit sell them out just to gain favor with all these older people. I see Senegal president during the AFCON and e sure me say that man never reach him 50s. When you check countries wey dey develop, you go see say their leaders no carry corruption put for front and even though them dey corrupt, them still dey do things wey the citizens dey enjoy.

Nigeria Youths will never get hold of power politically nor grow politically too because they have refused to see that they have potentials to effect the changes we crave for, once it's election period and an old politicians comes and give them peanut like 5,000 naira they follow him blindly, go to Senegal and see their president, he is very young and vibrant this is someone that is still thinking smartly not some old men like in the case of Nigeria that the president sleeps in conference while lectures are ongoing. So the very day the Youths get prepared and ready to take over power is the day we will be liberated from old Men that are our leaders, human needs are unsatisfiable and greed has made so many politicians not to relinquish power and they are willing to pass hand over power to their children to inherit it as if it was their birth right. The Youths needs to take the bull by the horn and stand up to take over power because power is not something they dash, you must fight to get it.

The system is built that way on purpose, they keep the youth out of jobs, hungry and waiting for any handouts and when it is election period, you see politicians "giving back to the community" and the classic "Youth empowerment Program" then they give the youth leaders a few promises based on appointment and the youths are mobilized for their doings. If you look at the last election even when the youth spoke up they used a different method to silence everyone and get who they wanted elected. Nigeria's democracy is a very sad discussion and even sadder reality for aot of us, hopefully it does get better as more youths speak up.

Well if you ask me i will say yes youths will certainly grow in politics in Nigeria, take for instance all this top politicians started from somewhere, most of them were picked from SUG in universities and placed in different positions by their godfathers, hence there is a possibility that younger generation even if the growth will be slow can still definitely have the opportunity of attaining certain heights in politics.
All youths need is start from somewhere even if it’s just to participate by first registration in a political party, identifying with his/her ward and polling units, then attend party meetings at local level, before you know he/she will be noticed as time goes on and might be considered for either youth chairman or counselor and from there to other positions, all he/she needs to do is to be loyal and deliver good leadership at any level he/she is giving the opportunity to serve, everyone politician great today started somewhere, yes i know that most of our top ranking politicians wants to stay forever if given the chance but if you look keenly you will still see younger once that are sprouting up in different states across the country, meaning that youthful inclusion is actively ongoing, take Rivers for example Oko Jumbo and his click of friends that are supporting the governor are mostly youths meaning that currently there is active participation of youths in government. Just be loyal and committed and the sun will one day shine on you politically. It is possible ✌️

The growth of youths politically in Nigeria is still under probability as there is no provision for the youth in the political world because the old fashioned political representatives we have in Nigeria believes if the chances is given to the youth, power will change hands therefore denying them access to operate mercilessly as they do operate now. The current leaders in Nigeria now where the same set of leaders in power since the creation of Nigeria, only moving from one political party to the other all because they need power and licence to steal public funds without been questioned, so the introduction of vibrant youths with vision into the system will put fear in them because the vision of a young man will be different from that of an old man close to his grave.
