How confident are you that you actually know what these mean?

Asian Handicap
For example asian over 2.5. If you bet on it, and the game did not end with 3 goals up, but ended with 2 goals, the odds will be canceled from the bet slip, no loss will be counted.

Point spread
A team to win/lose with a certain number of goals. You get to choose.

Totals / Over-Under
This is a bet on the total number of goals that will be scored in a match. A combination of the goals scored by both teams. Not minding who wins the game or not.

Parlay / Accumulator: Having more than one bets in a single slip and each of the selections must win for you to win the slip.
For example: selecting 3 teams to win with different odds e.g 2.50, 1.35 and 3.00. the odds are multiple together e.g (2.50 * 1.35 * 3.20 which would be 10.125) this total would them be multiplied by your wagering amount to determine your potential winning(some bonus amounts might still apply).

So honestly, how many of these were clear to you when you first started?

I believe I was only accustomed to money line, point spread and parlay bets when I actually started gambling. Didn't with much about the others because I saw them as stress. You know, it gets clearer as you advance in gambling and you tend to learn other aspects of sports betting when one or more strategy stops working.

To my experience, it's more like giving a team goal/goals ahead of the match in 0.5 difference. Example: Away +1.5, Home +0.5.

Totals/ Over-Under
This talks about the number of goals that would be scored in the match from both teams and it's also in 0.5 difference. Example: Over 1.5 means the total goals scored should be 2 goals and above, Under 3.5 means the total goals scored should not be above 3 goals but less than that.

Parlay/ Accumulator
This is a single bet that contains multiple options ranging from a win, over/under, GG and the rest.

Many times I bet on teams that will score a certain goal, like last night Dortmund who should be over 0.5 didn't even score.

Parlay is the most common bet with an accumulation of matches for higher odds... the more legs in the parlay the higher the odds, as well as the risk.

All the types you mentioned are familiar, it's just that two are often done in sports betting by me.

(1) Asian Handicap

This type has greater difference than the usual handicap, if usually in handicap we see +0.5, +1, +1.5 & so on, in asian handicap we will have better options (like +0.25, +0.75 & so on) to lower the risk level, but lower the reward level as well.

Example from last night Champions League match, Copenhagen faced Napoli & the match ended in a draw (Copenhagen 1 - 1 Napoli). Before the match started, we took +0.25 on Copenhagen with $100. If we take +0.5, we will get our entire bet back, winning $100 (assuming the odds are 2), but since we took +0.25 (assuming the odds are 2), we will get $50, half of our total bet.

(2) Totals / Over-Under

This is very easy to understand, we choose a certain target for goals below or above, if we choose above but what happens is that the goal is below our target, we will lose the bet, the opposite also applies.

(3) Parlay / Accumulator

Accumulating matches in 1 slip, 1 loss makes all lose, the stupidest kind I ever knew.

As for me, I'm familiar with those kind of terms, except for Asian handicap. I will always saw them, but I don't bet on them. Usually it's ML or handicap that I usually used often.

Sometimes we don't know all of these terms even though we often bet at any casino, but some terms are familiar, perhaps almost all gamblers know them. Some people who have responded may have understood the meaning of the term, but novice gamblers may often forget or even misinterpret the term. If we refer to the beginning of my involvement in gambling there are many terms that I may not understand correctly even though we may know the meaning. Sometimes we also need to search for keywords for these terms on Google because not all of them can be memorized, especially for those who are not involved in gambling all the time. This is a kind of single bet that combines several matches in one bet and usually if the bet is completely correct then the profit obtained is much greater even though the capital is small, I understand the meaning of this in interpreting Parlay / Accumulator.

All of it, it wasn't written in this way but it was all clear to me.

Of course i learnt and studied how to use them when i was new to gambling, recently it is a norm on my side.

One of my favorite is the over option, it's a safe option to replace moneyline.

If we are talking about thr options that were clear to me when I started betting then it is the totals/ overs and unders. The rest of them like handicaps and so on were not really clear to me at first but after sometime It all started to make sense. understanding betting options isn't rocket science, it is one of the most easiest things to learn. in order to understand and learn how to bet using the options i figured out that the way to make it less complicated is to just place a bet, with time you are going to get it.

More important than knowing the theory behind each bet is knowing how to combine them, because the first mistake beginners make is poor combinations when placing bets. At the start, people often make mistakes with combinations, sometimes even contradictory and highly improbable according to the statistics of the same match.
This happens because bets are created with events that, statistically, almost never occur together. The result is that the odds seem attractive, but the mathematical expectation is terrible.

Most of these features are common but they are only being specific on the particular gambling platform inconsideration, so that is why it depends on the region you could find out that some are available with certain features and some platforms and not having the same feature as others, because of the region they are being located, so it depends on the casino and then the way they choose to have their features been listed on the platform.

Asian handicap - same, but this is a combination of several outcomes with different handicaps
Totals / Over-Under - obvious, selfdefined
Parlay / Accumulator - a bet with multiple outcomes where the odds are multiplied together, winning only occurs when all outcomes are correctly guessed

I'm of the opinion that the more complex the product bookmakers offer, the higher their margins. The simplest bets are always the most profitable.

Yea they are all common but its the Asian Handicap which I wouldnt have been familiar with . . .
until now! I have never even bothered to find out what it was even though I knew it existed.

Moneyline - This is probably how I place most of my bets on Tennis and Rugby, win/lose/draw

Point spread / Handicap - probably my second most popular type of bet

Asian handicap - never used it

Totals / Over-Under - could be a close second betting type for me after the Point Spread,
obviously betting over or under a given amount of points/goals

Parlay / Accumulator - a rare bet for me, the way I work it is to group a bunch of low odds
games into a single bet which basically amplifies the odds to make those low odds matches
 more rewarding

Even though I’ve been placing bets for quite a long time, I can definitely still call myself a beginner in betting. I want to say that I don’t really understand what Asian handicap is and how it works, mainly because I don’t like betting on handicaps and do it very rarely. Most of the time, I bet on the winner or on the total, and sometimes on a team’s individual total.

Overall, I think there are many players who don’t understand every aspect of betting, and if you’re just betting for entertainment, I believe that for me it’s not even necessary to know all of that.

Since I gamble with bets that I understand, Parlay is the only bet that anyone can conceptually understand. In short Parlay to my understanding means betting on two or three matches at once, and if one of them doesn't go as predicted, I lose it all. It's as simple as that.

At the beginning, when I started sports betting, the only ones I knew were Parlay and Moneyline. That's it, and for the first few months, I only placed those two types of bets as well. I started learning about others when many friends were talking about terms I didn't understand. Of course, I looked the most clueless among my friends when talking about it. From those conversations, I got information, and I sought additional information on my own and tried it out.

For me it was the Asian handicap that I found a little difficult to understand, the whole concept of handicap was very hard to grasp but the more experience I got it became clearer. The beginning stages of betting for me was just straight to the point, i only placed bets using the over and under options, occasionally I placed a bet on the straight win option but my favorite options was the corner market.

Although I've been around for a while and I've already become familiar with all these terms, I must admit that, as a native Spanish speaker it was difficult for me at first to understand what many of they meant, since their name is totally different in my language, and even online translators didn't translate them well (even today, "quiniela", which is similar to a parlay, is translated as "pool" because of "the pools" in the UK, and translating it back to Spanish it says "swimming pool", which doesn't make sense. The added problem is that when you talk about pools in this section, they are very different from the Spanish quiniela.

Experience makes you learn what all these terms mean, but the threads like this and the one shared by Dave1 are of great help.
