Built the best DCA Calculator out there DCAinBitcoin.com - $ / £ / € - Thoughts?

I've had this little side project in mind for a couple of years and couldn't pull it off until recently when i learnt about AI coding tools. I'm actually super happy with it - it's certainly better than my other BTC related sites i've created in the past.

• GBP/EUR/USD values
• Price data back to mid 2010
• Price updates daily
• Compare DCA vs lump sum over any time period
• Dynamic / responsive design
• Threw in a little price forecast tool too for fun

Where did you get the price data from mid-2010? data dump dates back to 2013.
DCA data ignores bitcoin withdrawal fees or the possibility that purchases may stop once or twice during DCA years.
I loved the design; it's among the best that offer this service.

In the FAQ below i do mention that this doesnt include fees, taxes, spreads.
I also let viewers know the data is from CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap. I think the historical data was CMC and the daily price updates going forwards are CG. The price is the 'daily close' which is somewhat subjective i know - but for DCA analysis i had to pick a point in time.

That's why I asked. The data from https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/ back to 2013; there is no historical data older than that.
It would be helpful to compare this data with gold, major currencies, and S&P 500.

Hmm perhaps it was CoinGecko then. I used both of them, whilst also looking at Yahoo and CoinMetrics. It's possible i forgot. I definately didnt make it up though :-)

I was considering making another (clone calculator that does gold, S&P500 etc) but i'm loathe to spend the time if it gets no visits. And i'm not sure i want to turn this Bitcoin DCA Calc into an everything calculator.

I was thinking about putting MSTR on the calculator. Maybe i'll put that and Gold on for fun....

But it seems there might be some bugs on your side. I selected last 2 years and then compared with the same settings on my page.
Yours is off quite a bite.
Your DCA line is basically a straight line, even though the value also fluctuates with the Bitcoin price. So it should be much more jaggedy.
Maybe it is related to your aggressive downsampling? Seems only one price point per month is visualized? Even when selecting weekly as DCA frequency.
Similar also applies to the lump-sum line.

Good catch.  I also noticed that bug.  The DCA line shouldn't be a straight line, there is some bug in the OP project

Both projects have a nice design.

I also.made a similar one, but not a dca.  It is a way to create a sustainable withdrawal , something nearly opposed to dca: you sell little by little for life, based in the 200 week moving average. for those who over accumulated

I appreciate your efforts. Your project is very helpful for me in future investment planning. Surprisingly my DCA for the last one year is showing loss. Great work op.
