Honestly, I believe leadership isn’t about age, it’s about heart, vision, and dedication. In Nigeria, many think young people are too inexperienced to lead, but the law already allows someone 35 and above to run for president.
For me, the perfect president isn’t defined by age but by qualities like integrity, wisdom, empathy, resilience, and a clear vision for the country. If you have the right mindset, knowledge, and dedication to serve the people, age becomes just a number. Leadership is about sacrifice and commitment, not just how many birthdays you’ve had.

I understand what you’re saying about Nigeria. The old politicians really hold power tightly, and they often believe young people aren’t mature enough to lead. That’s exactly why I feel progress is slow and development lags behind. But look at Senegal today, their president is only 44 years old, came from outside the traditional elite, and was elected through a peaceful, democratic process. He’s pushing for real reforms, tackling corruption, and focusing on development that benefits ordinary people.
If a West African country like Senegal can choose fresh leadership and give young, capable people a chance, then I honestly believe Nigeria can also do the same. The challenge is breaking the cycle of old guard politics, empowering new voices, and trusting that younger leaders can understand and solve today’s problems.

I am of the opinion that we need young leader Nigeria, because leadership has nothing to do with age, as long as you have got the qualities of a leader, I think you should be given the chance to rule. I never supported Late Mohammed Buhari and President Ahmed Tinubu, not because I don't like APC, because I really don't care about party, but rather the individual. My reason for not supporting this people is because of their age, if they are too old, like I said I am one of the people that will always advocate for a young leader. Some people will say the older people are more experienced and they should rule, but I feel the young people will more suited yo rule, because they are fit and they are more aligned to what is going on around the world now and they will be able to move this country forward.  The constitution allow for an individual from the age of 18 the right to vote and to be voted for, but our corrupt politicians will not give the young generation the chance to rule,because they feel it's their right to rule. Talking about experience how do you expect the young once to gain experience on leadership if they are not given the opportunity to lead.

There is no opportunity for a youth in Nigeria to be the president of the country other African country has youth as their president, Nigeria is always rule by grandfather's who don't have any good agenda for the youths , just look at next is general election and no youth is talking about to contest for this position, which political party will even nominate you if you still form a new political party even if everybody voted for you the inec will still do their work by announcing the wrong person as the president of the country just as they did to Peter Obi who won last time presidential election and Tinubu was announced as the president.

The possibility of a 40years becoming president in Nigeria is very slim, where does he want to start from, firstly which 40years Nigerian has the political strength and finance to win the primaries let alone winning the election proper, when before one will finish school and start working or start a good business he/she will already be more than 40, the Nigerian structure doesn’t permit anyone below 40 to be that financially stable and politically strong, when will you grow throw the ranks from counselor to president, it’s except a miracle happens else I doubt any 40years old Nigerian can be president.

Though let not feel that if a 40years rule that it will be better because she age has nothing to do with leadership, i know younger leaders that under performed, I also know older leaders that are performing well, so let’s just hope our faulty electoral system will one day be corrected so that a true leader will emerge.

It’s a laughable question, How do you think that a young man of 40 years will be the President of Nigeria, that would be quite impossible, do you think there is anything such as the Leader of Tomorrow ? The old men who are in politics are the Leaders of tomorrow, When you see a man of 8 years still contesting for President in Nigeria how do you think it’s going to be possible for a man of 40 years will have the mind of money required for buying party ticket I think that would be quite impossible, Political party ticket are such and expensive one in Nigeria, and the money that is required for campaigning for Presidential elections is quite expensive and lucrative which is something that is a huge problem financially.

Truth be told, Nigeria system of leadership won't even allow a Young vibrant Youth become the president because the same old set of politicians keeps rotating and recycling in the leadership positions, imagine someone that becomes a local government councilor and he climbs to become the chairman later the governor and has still went further to become a senator, how will the Youths come into power when the opportunity is not given to the Youths?,

I believe the late president Mohammadu Buhari signed the not too young  to rule into law but still they haven't given the young ones the opportunity to rule, leadership is not about age, someone who has leadership traits and charisma will rule perfectly even at the age of 30 so if the system of Nigeria permits Youths to rule changes will be seen in terms of decision making because the individual will be young and think effectively, if they can allow the not too young to rule bill work effectively then it will be fine to have a youth at 40 rule.

Leadership is like a calling,( destiny)is a special duty and not everyone has such calling and the charisma to be a leader and a good one at that, you might be 18 of age ,20, 30, 40, 50...100 or whatever but once leadership is not your calling you can never get it right or do well in your leadership position..most people want to be Leader or president because they want money 💰 (power) and fame that's why you see when they gain political position they begin to misbehave so what I'm trying to tell the general house is that leadership is not always about age is has more to do with destiny.

If d older people fit be president, then y is it that d younger ones no go fit be president? I feel d younger ones even get d energy to rule d country more than d other people wey Dey right now, but d issue wey Dey be say d older ones no Dey give d younger ones d opportunity to become d president.

Na d older people Dey share am give each other, and dem no Dey give d younger ones opportunity.
