I'll be completely honest
I've bet against my team very few times, just a couple, and it feels wrong, hahaha
My team is Corinthians (Brazil), and my team was one of the main reasons for most of my lost bets because I didn't have the courage to bet against them
Most of the time, I prefer not to bet

However, I would say that betting on a game involving our team is much more exciting and enjoyable than betting on other teams 

Let me tell you, you're very brave. I wouldn't be able to bet against my own team , I'd feel too bad , like I was being disloyal to myself But at least you had the courage to do it and experience that When I'm in a situation like that, I prefer to do what you say: do nothing , don't bet anything, just stay put. I think I'd feel exactly the same way you do, lol.

In gambling, you've have to approach each situation or bet objectively. You don't want to be biased when making decisions otherwise you will get cooked, hard.  What I would do most times is to simply avoid any match with the team that I'm a fan of. This way, I don't have to worry about a match that I would likely get the prediction wrong due to my bias.

Actually I prefer not bet against my team rather than place a bet against them. Sometimes I even place bets, but it is based on other criteria like the number of shots of goal or the number of goals and other things that are not the final result of the match... this works very well for me that do not like to bet against the team I like and it should also work for other people who face the same problem.

In the World Cup, I did not bet against Brazil.... if I had bet, I would have won money. Anyway, it is a dilemma...

Losing and winning are part of the team; they have to live with it. I bet against my favorite team, but prefer to keep it a secret so those who know me as a team fan won't treat it as betrayal, because some people lack understanding of the situation.
I can bet and cheer for my favorite team when they have a good chance, but when they are the heavy underdog, I don't think there's anything wrong with being practical. Loyalty is good when there is a chance to beat the other team.

It's not bad and there's no law that will not let you bet on the team that you're a fan of. If you know well that the team that you're fan of is the unfavorable team to win that match then just bet on the favorable team. In the end, it's your money your betting, and if your club lost/won they wouldn't care about your feelings anyway, and that's the fact we need to pin in our dome.

People can be fans of a team/club but when betting, if the opposing team is much stronger than my favorite team, then of course I will bet on the opposing team because when it is analyzed that the opposing team is much stronger and the chances of winning are much higher, then why would I bet on my favorite team knowing everything and when there is a 99% chance of losing? I will never make such a decision because if the opponent of my favorite team is very strong, then of course I will participate in betting on the opposing team against my favorite team and use my opportunity.

My favorite team will always be dear to me. It would not be right to sacrifice everything for my favorite team. Maybe there are many people who play with their favorite team and if the opposing team is very strong, they ignore that strong team and bet on their favorite team, so they knowingly lose the bet and it is not right to make such a decision.

I never bet against my own team to keep myself free from worries. I think, if making money from gambling is not your main objective then you should also ignore these matches. When you bet against your own team, you will pray for victory for both the teams and worry. On one hand you will wish for your favorite team to win, on the other hand you will chase after money. No matter what the result is, you will not be satisfied. It can even create excessive excitement which is harmful to health.

Of course, it doesn't cost me anything to do that because I don't apply bias to betting.
Football as we all know can sometimes be unpredictable, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't respect stats, records and performance. Long before now, I have learnt that bias and sports betting doesn't work together. You're either real with what you're doing, or you're going to lose a lot of money. And funny how I see people also using this same bias in conversations.

Just because I'm fan doesn't mean that I have be bias with my predictions. If my club is experiencing a very terrible season, there is no way I will always put them first, or as possible winners in every bet. It's all about setting bias aside, and letting the stats do the actual work.

What is fans in terms of making money? To me I do not really like emphasizing on those things where I would starts looking at club or and favorite club before placing my bet, I don't really care to know whether my Club wins or lose, but I am after is whom to win the match and if my team or club is to win then I don't mind giving them the winning but if noticed the other team qualifies the more then I wouldn't mind giving it to them just to make sure I also secure my bags as well.

Well I agree with you, IMO, betting for the opponents when facing our fave team will not affect our love to our team. This decision based on current team condition, if our team doesn't have a chance to win because losing several key players, it will stupid for us to stay betting for our team instead the opponents. Gamble should be not just following fan or not but the reality. If unable to betting for the opponents, better to not to bet. that simple.

When we talk about fans supporting clubs it depends on there performance and style or pattern they play. You can bet against your team, base on some personal reasons. Maybe that other team is doing better than your own team, bet against your team no law helds you. Just like my own team, in premier league side. For last nine meeting my own team has not won any game against the other team. So when it comes to both teams. I will not be confident enough to give winning to the team I'm supporting. With the experience I had. I will never bet them to win. When meeting some big teams. just like some Chelsea fan will agree with me.

I absolutely agree with either of you. Loyalty should not be the focus of betting, but strategy and analysis of the situation at hand. Although it may be awkward to bet on opposing your team, sometimes it is simply the right thing to do, and particularly when the team is not performing well and some of the players are away. When you follow your feelings blindly, you may end up losing. When you cannot find it in your heart to bet against your club, then it is time to stay away and not make the bet. Yes, it is possible to do. But some people choosing not to bet against the club they fans. They feels that is like a traitor for their fav team so they will not bet against their team. They will waiting for next match to bet and leave their team.

If you don't feels any, you could bet against your team. Your reason to bet is wins so that is no problem at all. You don't have to tells other about your betting and let that alone.

If you wins, you don't have to tells them but you can buy drinks to other and just say you have profit from other things. That will saves you from much questions.

Alot times I do that, I find myself betting against my fan club usually when i observe their capabilities with winning other clubs  i wouldn't mind betting against them. But for some person's that can't bet against their fan club it's normal to have one feel that way. Imagine betting on your fan club consecutively but then the playouts and outcomes truly ain't encouraging so there's nothing wrong with betting against.

of course it is possible to bet against your club. we all knows how important it is to win game, and in the quest of doing that we can do anything including betting against our club. one thing you should know is that betting is different from just being a fan. you may be a fan but when it comes to placing bet, you know your opponent and what they are capable of doing. so you will definitely go for the more profitable one over the other. there is no big deal there my friend, in gambling we dont mind which club we fan because we want to secure a win by all means.

I don't see how it is impossible for me to bet against the club I am a fan of. Real bettors know that involving emotions in their betting decision is one of the major reasons they lose their bets. If I know that my team doesn't have what it takes to win a match against a team I consider stronger, I will either bet against my team or not bet at all.

They is not anything wrong with betting for a club you suppose that can give you sure hope of winning because you will trust your club very well and you will said they won't disappoint you in the match. Yea, there are different ways to show support to a club you love. Betting against that club does not in any way influence the performance of the players. I mean I was guilty on this kind of thing these days, but back in the day I would start my bet on my team whatsoever, whatever happened im going to bet on them even though there was a very slight chances of winning, it is just way so satisfying if your actual team is actually going to win and you bet on the game as well, it is going to hype your fanboy thing. That is just going to work a lot especially if we are talking about the entertainment, most of the time it is entertainment for sure, we watch games, or teams because we like them and we are a huge fan of them, so we wanted to bet on them whatever happened. And still it is a game of luck so it might not matter at all.

But if your main goal was to make some profit and not really entertainment, I mostly just play on other teams that I think have a higher chance of winning, especially on multiple bets, where I could easily multiple my 20$ to 300$ or something, that is just way easier to make a profit than just stick and hoping for your favorite player or team to win the game. I Would easily bet against my favorite club or team if I think that it is just impossible to win. I mean watching it is going to be fan but the bet is a different thing.

Although this reminds me that I once bet on my team with odds of 15 to 1 because it was part of a promotion that gave me another benefit just for betting €10. I bet the €10 thinking I was going to lose, and I won. So I got the benefit from the promotion and €150.
