Any form of addiction is a silent killer,  wether it is alcohol, smoking, porn e.t.c. one thing is anything you do too much is bad.. even as good as food, when you eat too much, it poses as a health risk. When you gamble, there will definitely be rise in your blood pressure or other health factors and when this things happen often over time, it because almost irreversible. Addiction does not benefit anybody, it consumes time, money, effort e t.c. and these are things that are important for self development.. anybody addicted to gambling has a way to be behind others, their movements in life choices are almost always slow... Gamble responsibly and moderately so you don't get addicted

Any addiction can become a silent killer.

The important thing is that people can moderate the amount of time and money spent in gambling and not get addicted if they are clever enough to identify the signs. But such people are rare and often they will play very less over time eventually leaving gambling completely. The majority of the people will be playing every other day and spending money more than they can afford or they will start playing as soon as they receive their paycheck.

Those who have never be diagnosed with any mental disorder need to be extra careful because some of them are always undiagnosed and they are more prone to getting addicted.

I believe gambling addiction is a silent killer. There are no symptoms; you may see a healthy person, but deep within, they are suffering from depression and physical disabilities. They may look happy outside, but deep inside, they are lonely and helpless.

What makes it a silent killer they starts unnoticed until it's accumulated over the years, and all the symptoms appear after so many years of concealing it.

I have read reports of physically healthy people, but once they start gambling, no one notices the changes in their appearance until they suffer from a heart attack and manic depression.

What are the other symptoms that you can think of that will make gambling addiction a silent killer? Let's explore this so we can inform.

Gambling addiction is not actually a silent killer I mean in general because there are people that once they are addicted to gambling it will be so written all lover them because they can not help or control it and sometimes you would notice or observed through their behavior and how they dress. And there are also folks that can be so secretive and knows how to cover up things or stuffs like that and you won't notice from these people unless they tells you what they are going through. And these people that doesn't share are the ones that easily commit suicide.

An addicted gambler will not even have a large win in his hands for long - he will inevitably lose it. That's the insidiousness of gambling addiction. Gambling itself becomes the goal, not winning, and certainly not entertainment. It's like a drug addict - you don't get high, but you need to use it. Whether the gambler develops the disease unnoticeably or clearly for others depends on the sufficiency of money he has.
a addicted gambler does not play to win the game itself becomes a habit, even after a big win he cannot keep the money for long and starts gambling again, slowly gambling becomes a part of his life, winning or losing no longer matters only playing matters, it is like a drug addiction even if it does not feel good it cannot be stopped, if a person has a lot of money this problem is often not visible from the outside, but if someone has little money the situation becomes bad very quickly, this does not only affect the gambler but also hurts the family, that is why i think gambling is a very silent but dangerous addiction that slowly destroys a person from inside...

I have read reports of physically healthy people, but once they start gambling, no one notices the changes in their appearance until they suffer from a heart attack and manic depression.

What are the other symptoms that you can think of that will make gambling addiction a silent killer? Let's explore this so we can inform.
Restlessness, sleep deprivation, Neglect of Self-care.

If they aren't gambling, they feel that they're destroying themselves, and their body experiences a crash-like thing where they will feel uncomfortable whenever they don't gamble. As for sleep deprivation, since online gambling can be accessible 24/7, there are some gamblers who can't sleep whenever they experience losses that's why they will deposit even in the supposed sleeping hours, and that would cause them lack of sleep, and possible more losses as well. As for the 3rd one, whenever they're losing for most of the time, the money that's suppose to be for personal hygiene goes to gambling, and many more.

I think there are many symptoms that makes gambling addiction a silent killer, and if there are somebody out there who knows somebody that might be addicted into it, the best thing that we can do is to help them as early as possible.

I concur with this view that gambling is a dangerous issue, though not vocal. A person who is addicted is not interested in winning anymore, the interest is just to continue gambling as in drug addiction when one no longer feels pleasure but still desires it. The money does not last long even after a huge payoff since the gambler will strive to get back to the table. The addiction can be concealed quite long when a person has sufficient money, whereas in the case of those who do not have many resources, the harm will manifest within a short period of time. It is not just the gamer who gets ruined financially and psychologically, but the family members and relationships are also negatively affected by this addiction and are ruined inside-out.

What are the other symptoms that you can think of that will make gambling addiction a silent killer? Let's explore this so we can inform.

Gamblers should realize that they are addicted to gambling and recognize the negative effects they are experiencing. However, they are unwilling to admit that they are actually addicted to gambling. The tendency to ignore this and continue engaging in deviant and uncontrolled gambling activities ultimately creates real impacts on the gambler, whether in terms of health or psychologically. The most common thing we see is depression experienced by gambling addicts, all due to financial pressure that the gambler ultimately cannot bear.

And the funniest part of this is that the first step towards fighting or getting rid of addiction is acknowledging the fact that you’re addicted and then secondly admitting that you actually need help. This is because getting rid of addiction should be and is intentional, the victim must make some efforts himself before someone else can actually help them. But a situation where the victim himself doesn’t even acknowledge they need help, or try to be intentional about breaking free from the addiction, it’ll only get worse and worse.

Most time a gambler surfer for deep feeling of losing a bet that' take them many times to sit and forecast a game that will win and after all to see that all the whole effort is being lose, they feel ashamed because there are some people they gave the game with the hope of winning with a title of sure game if at the end of the day the game did not enter as focus to win. it made them feel ashamed hopeless embarrassment frustrated and many more name that make them die in silent.

Running out of money to gamble, taking out a loan or betting again to recoup the lost money, a gambler who loses can be depressed, financially and emotionally stressed. However, from the outside they may seem normal and most of them do not want to admit their losses or addiction. However, inside their depression and excessive emotional stress can cause serious problems like heart attacks or high blood pressure. This requires control that prevents a gambler from making excessive risky decisions. However, if someone is late in taking control and the amount of loss becomes large, then it is difficult, but not impossible, to overcome the emotional and financial loss if they have strong willpower.

Of course, we have to admit our addiction, if we do not admit our addiction, we will not be able to take any effective action against it, as a result, it will continue to affect us more deeply. So first we have to admit it, then we have to take steps to get effective results, if we proceed in this way, it is possible to get out of this addiction at some point. We have to try to get rid of our addiction through conscious decisions and continuous efforts, if we take professional advice and conduct activities according to that advice, then it is possible to get out of the addiction, otherwise it is impossible.

The process of overcoming or treating addiction must indeed start with self-awareness. It's not just gambling addiction; there are many other cases of addiction, such as alcohol or drugs. The addict themselves must have a strong desire to recover and break free from their activities. Without awareness and willingness from the addict, it is difficult for others to help.

Any addiction negatively affects a person and their close environment, including gambling addiction. However, until a person becomes aware of the true scale of the problem, it is unlikely that anyone will be able to help them. I’ve also come across the view that gambling addiction is one of the hardest addictions to treat, because it does not pose an immediate threat to life or physical health. This makes it more difficult for a person to accurately assess the seriousness of the problem and to change their mindset and habits. So, in a sense, there is truth in the idea that gambling addiction can be a “silent killer” of everything good in an addicted person’s life, as it becomes difficult for them to distinguish the problem from what they perceive as normal behavior.

The fact is that gambling is just an activity that means no harm but the gamblers are the one who failed to be responsible whole playing.. like you said, anything you do way too much or get obsessed with, usually have negative effects. Even to the extent of money, food. When you get too attached with such things, the end results may not be as good as you imagined. A gambler should try to control himself to avoid becoming addicted. This is the very first thing they must have at the back of their mind to avoid falling victims..

Yes, gambling addiction is a silent killer, no two ways about it.

It do start gently, like normal fun or small hustle, but slowly it will be taking over the mind..  Money will just be disappearing, debt will be rising.. But outside, the person will still look okay, but inside everything will be falling apart.

The dangerous part is that gambling does not give clear warning signs..  The person will think he still have control, meanwhile he has lost it long time. Gambling do kill discipline, peace of mind, relationships, and future plans little by little.

To be honest, gambling is really a habit that enters people's lives very silently at first it seems like "a little fun", "one time to try" but it gradually turns into an addiction and the most terrible thing is that it is not possible to catch one's own mistake. People start thinking that they are gambling calculatedly but in reality they have lost control long ago.

However, according to what I have seen, not everyone is like this, there are many who gamble only for enjoyment and they know their limits that they will not lose if they gamble. But at the same time, we also have to keep in mind that not everyone can do this because it is very difficult to control people's habits and for this reason it is not right to make a habit of gambling because gambling does not end everything in one day but takes away a lot from life little by little every day.

What are the other symptoms that you can think of that will make gambling addiction a silent killer? Let's explore this so we can inform.
Basically, anything related to "Addiction" is bad, and it can be called a "silent killer" or "indirect killer", especially gambling addiction.

As far as I know, gambling addiction is a disease and is related to mental disorders. The impact of gambling addiction is detrimental to mental, physical, and financial health. It s just that some people still don't realize it, or maybe they still feel fine. The dangers of gambling addiction can lead to stress, and it can even lead to death (due to loss of life expectancy). Well, I don't wish that on anyone, but some cases like that have occurred. Therefore, take care of yourself, don't gamble excessively, and examine your gambling habits. If you feel you have exceeded your gambling limits, then realize that you are starting to become addicted, or already are. Fix everything before it is too late, by managing your time and finances when gambling, and setting limits.

Almost like someone who’s in a coma, it’ll only require someone who has the will to live to wake up from that coma, which is why they always call the family and loved ones of the patient to come talk to them and give them a reason to want to live again, at this point, no amount of treatment or medication can bring them back if there’s no will to live. Same thing goes with addiction, there must be a will to recover before they can be able to receive external help that’ll be effective.

I have read reports of physically healthy people, but once they start gambling, no one notices the changes in their appearance until they suffer from a heart attack and manic depression.

What are the other symptoms that you can think of that will make gambling addiction a silent killer? Let's explore this so we can inform.
You have said it all but why always focusing on gambling addiction and how it affects the affected people meanwhile they wants to get addicted to gambling which is the reason they keeps playing. If they don’t have more money to play today, they will realize their mistakes and take correction from there because you can’t keep wining never advice them even if you noticed they are addicted to gambling and it has been affecting them, they will claim that they are not addicted.

Now that online gambling platforms are rampant, you never can tell who is gambling and who is not, so threads and discussions about addicted gamblers to me is not more important here since people gambling will always support that they are not addicted because once they are able to win huge sum of money, they will claim they know what they are doing.

The silent killer is present in the environment in such a way that you will not realize that it will harm you. If defined in this way, gambling can definitely be called a silent killer, especially for those who participate in gambling and become severely addicted. He becomes addicted to such an extent that he cannot imagine anything else other than gambling.

If a gambler becomes seriously addicted to gambling and becomes mentally disturbed, he may reach a point where he may even choose the path of suicide. So from this point of view, it would certainly not be wrong to call gambling a silent killer.
